favorite saying of my husband, when

referring to people who can’t resist

foolishly spending their money on non-

essential things, is “suckers and sunglasses!”

A “sucker” is defined as a person who is

easily deceived or who cannot resist the attraction of something or someone

(Dictionary.com).

...yet do not turn aside from following the

LORD, but serve the LORD with all your

heart… for then you would go after vain

things which cannot profit or deliver, for they

are nothing (1 Sam 12:20-21, NKJV)

The above text is a warning from God to

not become a “sucker” for things that are vain.

Unfortunately many professing Christians are

being suckered in by many “vain” things and

as a result deception is running rampant in the

body of Christ, so that even the very elect are

being deceived—this is due to the fact that

there seems to be more suckers than true

seekers of God and His truth. When professing

Christians are not seeking God through His

Word, they will become a sucker for false

teachings and Satan’s many attractions in and

out of the church. The root of this problem is

PRIDE. Pride is all about admiration and

acceptance, which is why prideful people do

not seek God through His Word about them-selves. They love to see what is unacceptable

in the lives of others but do not want to see

what God views as unacceptable in their own

lives... And the pride of Israel testifies to his

face, But they do not return to the Lord their

God, nor do they seek Him… (Hos 7:10,

NKJV).

The Word of God is like a mirror so that

when we look into it we will see ourselves as

God sees us. It will most certainly reveal our

imperfections, which are things we don’t

admire or like to accept about ourselves. But if

we are humble before God we will be honest

about what the Word of God is reflecting in

our lives. If we are prideful we will not want

to look at our imperfections—nor will we want

others to see them! Prideful people prefer to

see themselves (and have others see them) in a

very acceptable way and they strive hard to be

admired by others in order to feel accepted. In

other words, prideful people are ruled by their

fallen human nature’s insecurities and not by the

new born spirit nature that Jesus died to give us.

There are only two reasons that a person would

follow the desires of their sinful human nature

that we are all born with.

The first reason ...would be because a

prideful person does not have a new born again

spirit dwelling within them that they can follow.

Therefore, they can only live according to the

desires of their sinful fallen human nature. When

you follow the desires of your sinful nature,

your lives will produce these evil results:

sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness

for pleasure… idolatry, participation in demonic

activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy,

outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions,

the feeling that everyone is wrong except those

in your own little group... envy, drunkenness,

wild parties, and many other kinds of sin. Let

me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone

living that sort of life will not inherit the

Kingdom of God (Gal 5:19-21, NLT).

The second reason would be because a

prideful person may have a born again spirit, but

they do not allow it to rule their life. Instead they

choose to follow their fallen human nature...So I

advise you to live according to your new life

(nature) from the Holy Spirit. Then you won't be

doing what your sinful nature craves… The old

sinful nature loves to do evil, which is just

opposite from what the Holy Spirit wants. And

the Spirit gives us desires that are opposite from

what the sinful nature desires. These two forces

are constantly fighting each other, and

your choices are never free from this conflict

( Gal 5:16-17, NLT).

There we have it! We either have God’s new

nature living in us or we do not! If we do not

have God’s nature living in us—we don’t have a

choice and we can’t be anything other than

prideful and sinful. Why? Because Satan is

prideful and his sinful nature is part of our

inherited human nature. Therefore we must make

sure that we have God’s nature in us (which hates

sin). Now herein lies the dilemma. If we are born again, anytime we sin we will hate it and be very

aware of our sin, and will either instantly

become honest and CONFESS the sin or

choose to listen to our prideful fallen nature

and COVER UP our sin—by ignoring it—

blaming it on something or someone else—

or even redefining it. When we allow pride

to operate we will do most anything to

avoid having to acknowledge and confess

we have done wrong!

Suckers Who Are Seekers

There are prideful “suckers” who think

they are “seekers” of truth—but they are not

seeking the truth about their own sinful condition. People in pride are controlled by

their fallen human nature—which does not

like sin exposed! "...There is none who

seeks after God… they have practiced

deceit...There is no fear of God before their

eyes" (Rom 3:10-18, NKJV

Not being honest about areas of sin,

automatically causes our fallen human nature

to rule our soul (thoughts, feelings and will),

through a stronghold called inadequacy,

which is deeply rooted in our fallen human

nature. Feeling inadequate produces

innsecurity (rejection issues) within us, and

this in turn creates an internal pressure that is

very destructive. In my book If Possible

Even the Very Elect Will Be Deceived, I write

the following…

Prideful professing Christians

are dissatisfied people. They struggle with addictive and

compulsive behaviors, constantly try to find a relationship with

another person, or search for the

right career or ministry to give them the satisfaction they desperately want.

Their struggle with dissatisfaction is simply because they are dried up.

They are not able to obtain the deep

sense of satisfaction that comes only from the flow of God’s living

water which is our only source for

the satisfaction of true life. I have experienced this place of

dryness and discontentment that

has always led me into deception

and into constantly looking for a

new “this” or different “that” to find some sense of satisfaction,

whether it be through clothes, houses or material possessions.

However, those who are in this

place, also thirst for something “new” in the way of knowledge.

They end up embracing teach-

ings, philosophies and ideas that

are often disguised as “deep” or “new revelations.” Pride, which is

fed by insecurities coming from this state of “dryness”, only leads the

seeker into the place of “ever

learning but never coming to the

knowledge of the truth” (2 Tim 3:7).

Pride causes people to be in a

position where they find satisfaction in “knowing” something that others

may not. The deception that pride produces is so

very subtle, especially when we desire “new

revelation” or “deep revelation” to validate

our spiritual life. We can become deceived

into thinking that just because “revelation is

flowing and we become “inspired” by a new,

deep or prophetic “revelation” that it must be

God’s river that is flowing. Nothing could be

further from the truth! When we are in pride

and are not being honest about areas of sin in

our lives, we have opened ourselves up to

hearing from “familiar spirits.” Professing

Christians can “hear” very clearly from a

counterfeit spirit that they can become very

familiar with; which is why these seekers

become suckers for doctrines of demons, false

prophetic words and many “deep” or “new”

revelations that they embrace and teach. This

doesn’t happen overnight by the way. God

will continually try to deal with us about our

sin areas—because He knows if we don’t

confess them and get them forgiven they will

bring death to our spiritual life. The human

spirit is like a candle that has light from God’s

presence (Pr. 20:27), but our refusal to deal

with sin when God’s light shines upon it is not

something God will tolerate. This is how we

can quench God’s presence and we can end up

back in spiritual death and darkness… How

often is the candle of the wicked put out!

and how often cometh their destruction upon

them! God distributes sorrows in his anger

(Job 21:17 KJV).

Therefore, the longer we ignore, blame,

excuse or justify these areas of sin (error), the

more our soul is taken over by deception

and the more we thirst spiritually, because

we are becoming dried up. I go on to say the

following in my book:

When in pride we try to temporarily satisfy the dryness in our spirit. But in

reality, what is false appeals only to our soulish intellect and emotions.

When we follow our souls, we can be

easily and quickly deceived because our ability to discern comes ONLY

from our spirit. But if our spirit becomes dried up by sinful pride, we

cannot discern good from evil. We

must remember that one definition

for sin is “error.” Error and truth is a mixed drink we must avoid be-

cause any false teaching, spirit or

false anointing will have an intoxi-

cating influence. I cannot tell you

the number of times I have heard those in deception tell me things

like, “I know in my heart this good

or right.” The Bible is clear about the state of those who go in search

of that which is deceptive. “Those

who go in search of mixed wine

(that which is deceptive), when it

sparkles in the cup, when it swirls

around smoothly, will find it bites

like a serpent, and stings like a

viper. Your eyes will see strange

things, and your heart will utter

perverse things” (Proverbs 23:30-

33, NKJV parenthesis mine).

As I stated, when our spirits ignore

God and His truth we become dried up and

our spiritual thirst will lead us into

following what appeals to our soul which

opens ourselves up to a spiritual cocktail

of mixture. True discernment comes only

from a pure heart. When pride is covering

up sin issues, we have lost our ability to

discern good from evil and darkness from

light! I go on to say in my book…

Many supernatural manifestations

and so called “new moves” of the Holy Spirit, and their new

teachings and revelations, are

billed as the “new wine” which God is supposedly pouring out…

Jesus said there is a new wine but it cannot be put in an old wine-

skin. An old wineskin can

represent an individual, church or denomination that has dried up

because (of pride) there is no

openness to the truth of God. Dry ministers and ministries lack

spiritual discernment and

ultimately end up falling prey to

the deceptions of sin. They

partake of some Biblical truths along with the enemy’s

deceptions, which result in

spiritual confusion. Anyone who has had to deal with a drunk

knows they are definitely in a confused state. Thus it only takes

a little leaven to cause confusion

to spoil the whole lump! The reason I am saying all of this is

2

because there are so many spiritually

thirsty seekers who are becoming suckers

of Satan and don’t realize it is even

happening. Their pride issues have caused

them to see themselves and what is

going on around them through rose colored glasses! This again reminds me

of my husbands saying, “suckers and

sunglasses.” Suckers are attracted to what

is deceptive! Why? Because having to

face the truth about themselves or about

the error they are embracing, means they

have to admit that they are wrong! This

of course is a very painful thing for a

person in pride. It is bad enough to be in

pride, but worse yet is to be a prideful coward! Cowards fear pain and of course

being truthful and having to admit you are

wrong can be very painful when one is in

pride. It takes great courage to say “I

have been wrong or I have been in sin.”

Cowards are not willing to suffer the painful humiliation of humbling

themselves for righteousness sake… And

who is he who will harm you if you be-

come followers of what is good? ...But

even if you should suffer for

righteousness' sake, you are blessed.

"And do not be afraid of their threats,

nor be troubled."...But sanctify the Lord

God in your hearts… (1 Peter 3:13-15,

NKJV).

I often wondered why the Bible says

that the fearful are going to end up in the

lake of fire. But now I know it is because

the fearful are prideful cowards! Being

fearful or “cowardly” boils down to being

more concerned about our own security

and comfort that we are about God or

others. It is interesting to note that

being cowardly (fearful) receives first

mention among the sins listed that will

send people to their eternal second death in the lake of fire... But the fearful, (also

translated cowardly) and unbelieving,

and the abominable, and murderers, and

whoremongers, and sorcerers, and

idolaters, and all liars, shall have their

part in the lake which burns with fire

and brimstone: which is the second

death (Rev 21:8, KJV).

When we are not free to discern error

and what God is saying because of pride,

our human reasoning will embrace many

good sounding ideas and deceptions.

When we are deceived our understanding

becomes clouded and the truth becomes

distorted because of the internal pressure

of suppressed sin. The result is confusion

and discord. For example, I personally

have tried to give the truth to those who

are dried up and bound up by pride. But

their pride rose up and often caused them

to blow up in frustration and confusion

because they were bound up by a spirit of

deception. “But we belong to God; that is

why those who know God listen to us. If

they do not belong to God, they do not

listen to us. That is how we know if

someone has the Spirit of truth or the

spirit of deception” (1 John 4:6, NLT). The scary thing is this, many who

once knew God and embraced the truth

have through pride, lost their

discernment and have instead embraced

deception. What’s even worse is they

have also lost the light or life of God—

and they don’t even know it! These

people (false teachers) are as useless as

dried-up springs of water or as clouds

blown away by the wind — promising

much and delivering nothing. They are

doomed to blackest darkness… With

lustful desire as their bait, they lure

back into sin those who have escaped

from such wicked living… And when

people escape from the wicked ways of

the world by learning about our Lord

and Savior Jesus Christ and then get

tangled up with sin and become its slave

again, they are worse off than before…

It would be better if they had never

known the right way to live than to know

it and then reject the holy command-

ments (God’s word) that is given to them

(2 Peter 2:17, 20-21, NLT).

If people get angry when you give

them the truth for their own good

because you love them, it is because the

spirit of deception within them is

empowering their pride which fights

against the spirit of truth in you. God’s

wrath will then be upon them and rightly

so because His truth is His freely given

gift which is meant to set them free.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from

heaven against all ungodliness &

unrighteousness of men, who suppress

the truth in unrighteousness because

what may be known of God is manifest

in them, for God has shown it to

them” (Romans 1:18-19, NKJV).

There are professing Christians who

started out walking in the

uncompromising truth of God. But at

some point they began to receive and

then cling to what is false, to an

intoxicating mixture of truth and error,

that caused the glory of God’s wisdom to

fade like a flower in their lives.

“Woe to the crown of pride, to the

drunkards of Ephraim, Whose glorious

beauty is a fading flower. But they also

have erred through wine and through

intoxicating drink (deception) and are out

of the way... (Isaiah 28:1,7, NKJV,

parenthesis mine).

The Rose Colored Sunglasses

Of Deception

When people become suckers of pride

they prefer to see themselves and life

around them through Satan’s rose colored glasses of deception. They prefer

to hear and see a deceptive “rosy picture”

and not face the “rude reality” of their

life. In order to view life their own way

they end up isolating themselves from

those who will bring them into reality by

giving them the truth that will spare them

an eternity of misery. A man who

isolates himself seeks his own desire;

He rages against all wise judgment

(NKJV). (These) fools have no interest

in understanding; they only want to air

their own opinions NLT (Prov 18:1-2,). When the truth begins to deal with

areas of deception—you can be sure

people in pride will find all kinds of

reasons (excuses) to avoid being around

God’s carriers of truth. The fact of the

matter is—they feel very uncomfortable

around the truth and those who proclaim

it and live it. You can also be sure that

the enemy is more than happy to tell

them why the carriers of truth may make

them feel irritated—uncomfortable or

intimidated. After all, Satan is the

accuser of the (true) brethren and will

always be ready to slander and accuse

(blame) those who speak the truth and

expose his deceptions! It is so sad to see

many professing Christians, turn a deaf

ear to God’s attempts to bring them back

to spiritual life! The Bible calls these

prideful ones “fools.” The Hebrew word

for “fool” is keciyl (Strong’s 3684) and it

refers to someone who is not interested

in the truth. The (Complete Word Study

Acts 20:29-30

I know full well that false

teachers, like vicious wolves,

will come in among you after I

leave, not sparing the flock.

Even some of you will distort

the truth in order to draw

a following.

3

Dictionary) says... “such persons are usually unable to deal with life in a

successful way and they do not understand the (real) issues, for they

conduct their lives in a haze of

darkness.” The “haze of darkness” (deception)

in the life of a fool can appear very

attractive when seen through the rose

colored sunglasses of Satan’s suckers!

Remember a “sucker” is easily deceived

because they can’t resist what looks

attractive! The reason it is attractive is

because it appeals to the emotions—

intellect or personal desires (the soul) of

a fool.

Are we willing to suffer persecution

and misunderstanding as true servants of

God—and tell people in what way their

lives are wrong—by exposing their sin?

Unless our own hearts and hands are

clean, we will not operate in the

resurrection power that is needed to see

these “sleepers” rise from their death

beds of pride. They will be caught

unaware in the coming times of God’s

great judgments and end up going to hell

in a hand basket! If God’s love is truly

abiding in us we will preach what is right

and tell people the truth about their lives

because their eternal destiny is at stake!

Herald and preach the Word! Keep your

sense of urgency—stand by, be at hand

and ready, whether the opportunity

seems to be favorable or unfavorable.

Whether it is convenient or

inconvenient, whether it is welcome or

unwelcome, you as preacher of the

Word are to show people in what way

their lives are wrong. And convince

them, rebuking and correcting, warning

and urging and encouraging them,

being unflagging and inexhaustible in

patience and teaching… For the time

is coming when [people] will not tolerate

(endure) sound and wholesome

instruction, but, having ears itching [for

something pleasing and gratifying], they

will gather to themselves one teacher

after another to a considerable number,

chosen to satisfy their own liking and to

foster the errors they hold… And will

turn aside from hearing the truth and

wander off into myths and man-made

fictions… As for you, be calm and

cool and steady, accept and suffer

unflinchingly every hardship, do the

work of an evangelist, fully perform all

the duties of your ministry ( 2 Tim 4:2-5,

AMP).

Many are looking for “new

strategies” to take their cities for God.

Well, here we are given the same strategy

that the early church used and it has not

changed! This text says we must: “...show

people in what way their lives are wrong.

And convince them, rebuking and

correcting, warning and urging and

encouraging them…”

This takes courage—prideful cowards

need not apply for this ministry

assignment! Those who are prideful and

fearful will not confront sin issues in their

own lives, and have no business doing so

in others! Confronting error and sinful

behavior is true spiritual warfare. When a

righteous person speaks the truth and

reveals the mind and heart of God, the

powers of darkness cringe in terror. How-

ever, Satan has deceived many of us into

thinking that real spiritual warfare is

nothing more than “singing our warfare

songs—making declarations from the

Scriptures—or proclaiming our so called

“prophetic declarations” over people,

circumstances, or over our cities and

nations. Satan doesn’t care how much we

do these things—but he shakes in his

booties when we take the message of

repentance to the highways and bi-ways

and compel people to come into the

kingdom of God. True spiritual warfare is

setting the captives free by boldly opening

our mouths and preaching and teaching

sinners the truth from God’s word. The

Apostle Paul who was one of the greatest

spiritual warfare warriors of God plainly

stated this very same warfare objective...

“and for me, that utterance may be given

to me, that I may open my mouth boldly

to make known the mystery of the

gospel... that in it I may speak boldly, as I

ought to speak” (Eph 6:19-20, NKJV).

This is the demonstration of God’s

power that the Apostle Paul desired. True

revivals of the past were demonstrations of

this kind of power. People fell on their

knees before God, shaking and trembling

under the conviction of their sin when this

kind of power was demonstrated. The true

power of God is not merely a “dog and

pony show” of signs and wonders but a

demonstration of the power of God that

comes by preaching and teaching the

wisdom of God—known as His truth! And

my speech and my preaching were not

with persuasive words of human wisdom,

but in demonstration of the Spirit and of

power… that your faith should not be in

the wisdom of men but in the power of

God… But we speak the wisdom of

God … (1 Cor 2:4-5, 7 NKJV).

It is time for true servants of God to

boldly open their mouths and bring God’s

correction when it is need among those

embracing what is false—and to confront

sin in the lives of people so they can be

delivered out of the hand of Satan and his

deceptions! Therefore if anyone (first)

cleanses himself... he will be a vessel of

honor, sanctified and useful for the

Master, prepared for every good work…

And as a servant of the Lord he must not

quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach,

patient… in humility correcting those

who are in opposition, if God perhaps

will grant them (more literally: extend the

offer of) repentance, so that they may

know the truth… and that they may come

to their senses and escape the snare of

the devil, having been taken captive by

him to do his will (2 Tim 2:21, 24-26,

NKJV, parenthesis mine).

God tells us it will be just as it was in

Noah’s day—people didn’t listen to his

message of coming judgment in which

the majority ultimately perished. If they

listen or don’t listen we must sound the

alarm by shocking people with the truth

in order to awaken them to life!

Trumpeting the truth not only shocks people into life—it terrifies the enemy to

death! "When you go to war in your

land against the enemy who oppresses

you, then you shall sound an alarm with

the trumpets, and you will be

remembered before the LORD your

God, and there will be salvation from

your enemies! (Num 10:9, NKJV).

The Fear of God

A person who refuses to respond to

God’s trumpeters who bring His warnings

is one who chooses to remain in pride.

This person is not only a “sucker” but a

“fool” who has no fear of God. They are

deceived into thinking that God sees them

just as they see themselves. Fools create a

false image of themselves—and they also

create God in their own image. Their god

is—“so kind and—oh so understanding

about their sin.” But again, God calls

those who choose to remain ignorant by

ignoring the truth—“fools”… I like the

“shockingly blunt” way the Message

Bible’s renders this text concerning the

fool: "You simpletons (fools)— How long

will you wallow in ignorance? Cynics!

How long will you feed your cynicism?

Idiots! How long will you refuse to

learn? ...About face! I can revise your

life. Look, I'm ready to pour out my spirit

on you; I'm ready to tell you all… As it

4

is, I've called, but you've turned a deaf

ear; I've reached out to you, but you've

ignored me… "Since you laugh at my

counsel and make a joke of my advice…

How can I take you seriously? I'll turn

the tables and joke about your

troubles! ... if the roof falls in, and your

whole life goes to pieces... if catastrophe

strikes and there's nothing to show for

your life but rubble and ashes ...You'll

need me then. You'll call for me, but

don't expect an answer. No matter how

hard you look, you won't find me…

(Why?) "Because you hated Knowledge

and had nothing to do with the

Fear -o f -GOD… Because you

wouldn't take my advice and brushed

aside all my offers to train you… Well,

you've made your bed — now you must

lie in it; you wanted your own way —

now, how do you like it? ...Don't you see

what happens, you fools, you idiots?

Carelessness kills; complacency is

murder… First pay attention to me, and

then you can relax… you can take it

easy — (because) you're in good

hands" (Prov 1:22-33, TMB).

These sound like pretty strong words,

but God knows that a fool is not easily

reached with the truth. Many times a fool

needs to be SHOCKED into reality! God

wants none to perish and has no pleasure

in the death of the wicked. However, it is

our choice when it comes to humbling

ourselves before God.

Because contemporary Christianity

has replaced sound Biblical doctrines

with many false teachings causing

professing Christians to live complacent,

soulish and fleshly lifestyles, there is

going to be a lot of “roofs falling in” and

“catastrophe striking” judgments from

God—leaving only ashes and rubble in

its wake—as we have already seen!

There must be a bringing down before

there can be a lifting up, which comes

only through true repentance. This is

often the only way that those who have

fallen asleep (died spiritually) through

prideful deception—are going to be

awakened! But when the light shines on

them, it becomes clear how evil these

things are… And where your light

shines, it will expose their evil deeds.

This is why it is said, "Awake, O sleeper,

rise up from the dead, and Christ will

give you light." ...So be careful how you

live, not as fools but as those who are

wise… Make the most of every

opportunity for doing good in these evil

days… Don't act thoughtlessly, but try to

understand what the Lord wants you to

do (Eph 5:13-17, NLT).

When we no longer fear God, it takes

a good dose of God’s reality to awaken us!

When the roof falls in around our heads it

will knock the rose colored glasses from

our eyes so we can take a good look

around and hopefully begin to see the need

to repent and seek God with complete

honesty! Believe me I know all about

being awakened by God’s judgments.

There was a time when my world came

crashing down around me because I was

steeped in pride and idolatry. I saw only

what I wanted to see when it came to what

the Bible taught. I found out the hard way

that we must be willing to rightly divide

God’s Word and allow His Holy Spirit to

reveal His truth to us.

Love For God—the Answer

When we cry out to God He makes

abundantly clear the exceedingly

sinfulness of our sin. I saw to my shame

how my love for God had been replaced

by my love for many other things. When

we lose the presence of God in our lives

(by quenching the Holy Spirit), we cannot

love God. It is only through the abiding

presence of God’s Holy Spirit that love for

God is poured out in our hearts. It is not

humanly possible to love God without the

presence of the Holy Spirit within us…

because the love (for) God has been shed

abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit

who was given to us (Rom 5:5 NKJV,

parenthesis mine).

This means when we do not have the

Holy Spirit abiding in us, we cannot love

God, which means we also will not fear Him. To fear God means to be afraid of

offending Him. When we create God in our

own image, we won’t fear offending Him,

because we create an image of God in

which we see him as tolerant of sin (a god

who understands we are only human).

Creating a false idea of God (idolatry) robs

us of experiencing God’s love. In our

humanness we think of love as a feeling.

The Bible tells us love is defined as

obedience… For this is the love of God,

that we obey His commandments ( 1 John

5:3, NKJV). When we equate love for God as our

emotional response to Him, this kind of

love is not real nor can it be sustained.

However, real love is not obtained or

sustained through our emotions (our soul)

—it is obtained and sustained through the

presence of God’s Holy Spirit within our

spirit that He has regenerated (made alive).

When our spirit is given life from God it is

experiencing love for God—because God

is love... for love springs from God; and

he who loves is begotten (born) of God

and is coming progressively to know

and understand God, to perceive and

recognize and get a better and clearer

knowledge of Him… He who does not

love has not become acquainted with

God, does not and never did know Him,

for God is love… In this the love of God

was made manifest… (1 John 4:7-9,

AMP).

There are multitudes of deceived

professing contemporary Christians who

have a lot of Bible knowledge, and who

even have many spiritual experiences—

yet they do not fear offending God by

their lifestyles and false beliefs which

contradict God’s word. They only have a

(counterfeit) form of Christianity that

lacks the power of God’s Spirit (life)

within them. When this is the case they

can never overcome Satan’s or the world’s

ways. They will fall prey to Satan’s

counterfeit anti-Christ false leaders who

are being revealed and revered even now

because of the supernatural power,

popularity and prosperity that is being

manifested by them. When the Holy Spirit

is dwelling within us we will manifest

Christ through our flesh (our new nature

or the new man). It will be our (new)

nature to love God by obeying Him.

Those who are deceived into thinking they

are true Christians but do not know God,

live lives that deny Christ has come into

their flesh (their nature), because the only

nature they live by is their sinful fallen

(flesh) nature... This is love, that we walk

according to His commandments … For

many deceivers have gone out into the

world who do not confess Jesus Christ as

coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver

and an antichrist (2 John 6-7, NKJV).

We live in perilous times of grave

deception and we must continue to watch

and pray! Most of all we must be sure

God’s Spirit is truly living within us!

Create in me a clean heart, O God,

And renew a steadfast spirit within me…

Do not cast me away from Your

presence, And do not take Your Holy

Spirit from me… Restore to me the joy

of Your salvation, And uphold me by

Your generous Spirit… Then I will teach

transgressors Your ways, And sinners

shall be converted to You... a broken

spirit, A broken and a contrite heart —

These, O God, You will not despise.

( Ps 51:10-13, 17, NKJV). Amen†

In this 60 page booklet I will be sharing some the insights and revelations the Lord has graciously given

to me in order to keep me from following some of the popular false beliefs and practices related to

spiritual warfare that are contrary to the Scriptures.

There is much being taught and written on the subject of spiritual warfare within many Christian circles.

For over forty years I have personally been involved in several Christian movements, namely the

Pentecostal, Charismatic and most recently the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) movement, all of

which taught and practiced some form of spiritual warfare. As with many other practices and beliefs

that I have been exposed to in these movements, God has been faithful to reveal and make plain to me

through His Word, many of the errors and excesses that were occurring. Some of these things I had

embraced for a time because I either lacked knowledge of what the word of God said about these things

or because I neglected to carefully seek God and weigh what I was seeing and hearing by what His word

has to say. Satan’s deceptions are barely detectable! We must align ourselves with God’s word of truth

and lay aside all that does not measure up according to His plumb line!
