Tibor to the Rescue, a new series featuring the work of Dog Behavioral Specialist Tibor Feigel, filmed its first season in The Palm Beaches. Tibor works with private clients in the area who have pets with severe behavioral problems, and also volunteers with Palm Beach County’s Animal Care & Control to help train their “red zone” cases for adoption. Each episode includes special tips and tricks for struggling pet owners. Tibor lives and works in West

Palm Beach, making our region the ideal place to show off his expertise with a long list of local clientele! The show will air on Fido Channel, a network specifically geared towards dog lov-ers. For more info visit fidotvchannel.com.

Ko-Mar Productions based in WPB has been traveling the world recording aviation history with Pratt & Whitney. Ko-Mar has been covering the building and testing of a new jet engine developed by the aerospace manu-facturer. The Ko-Mar team traveled to Montreal, Canada to shoot the first flight of the PW1900G engine designed for Em-braer, a Brazilian commuter airline. They also ventured to Na-

goya, Japan to cover the first flight of Pratt & Whitney’s PurePower 1200G engine on a Mitsubishi Regional Jet, the MRJ90. This will be the first passenger aircraft developed in Japan since 1962.

“We’ve also been covering the actual build of PurePower en-gines at the Jupiter facility. It’s incredible to watch the mechan-ics and engineers transform CAD designs into jet engines on the shop floor, and even more so to witness that same engine lifting an aircraft to it’s first flight,” said Todd Kolich, President of Ko-Mar. For more information visit ko-mar.com.

Stand Up Paddling TV (the larg-est online community of stand up paddlers) returned for the third time this spring to The Palm Beaches - their “go-to place for stand up pad-dling” - to film a week’s worth of pad-dling action and product videos for BIC Sport. The team cited a variety of natural settings, tropical atmosphere, and outstanding weather as the qualities that make Palm Beach County an ideal destination for the sport.

Brendan Mark, Sales and Marketing Director for Heliconia Productions, loves the fact that “when you’re done paddling, everything else you need is close by.” Heliconia Productions is an award-winning production company that specializes in outdoor productions, producing six unique television series that appear on networks such as NBC Sports, Universal HD, Out-side Television, and the World Fishing Network. Wellington-based Afflux Studios directed and produced a new music video for Call to Start, a band based out of Central Florida. Their EP title track Somewhere Else was shot at the for-mer Dr. Pepper Bottling Company, aka Gladstone Warehouse, in West Palm Beach. The song captures the idea of having a tem-porary escape from the problems we face day-to-day, whether it’s a break-up, depression, or responsibility, through a dream that takes you to a better place.

“Filming the performance shots in the warehouse provided us with a location that seemed abandoned, away from everything…which represented the isolation of dream-ing,” said band member Kevin Donahue. Afflux Studios is a great option for musi-cians looking to take their image to the next level. See more about the band’s journey at facebook.com/calltostart.

New York-based automotive photographer Matt Reiser of Fastlane Photography recently captured exotic sports cars amid a stunning backdrop at Phil Foster Park in Riviera Beach. “I was visiting family in the area on vacation and thought to myself, how cool would it be if I could set up a shoot somewhere here and have my exotic car owners come out for a morning?”

Phil Foster Park was the perfect location to shoot these magnificent Lamborghinis and Porsches. “The backdrop of the Intracoastal with boats and palm trees on a sunny day was just picture perfect,” Matt

said. Onlookers and park visitors were stunned and intrigued by the luxury vehicles, including a vibrant lime-green Lambor-ghini Gallardo with dozens of $2 bills affixed to its hood. “From the shifting to the launch controls to the signature purrs, exotic cars bring us joy every time we take them out for a cruise,” Matt added. The sport of polo is one of the foun-dations for the character and charm of The Palm Beaches. Polo enthusiasts descend upon Wellington each winter season to enjoy their love of the sport in the most prominent and well-equipped polo facility in the U.S. - the International Polo Club Palm Beach. In partnership with the United States Polo Asso-ciation (USPA), the International Polo Club Palm Beach hosts season-long tournaments including the most prestigious 26-goal polo matches, such as the C.V. Whitney, USPA Gold Cup, and U.S. Open Polo Championship, April 3-24. All tour-naments will be streamed live on ChukkerTV, which provides video coverage, streaming and on-demand options for an online audience. The world will get even more of the 122th U.S Open Polo Championship on NBC Sports Network on April 30 at 5pm with commentator Adam Snow. For more info, visit

G-Star School of the Arts recently hosted several golfing celebrities thanks to an excit-ing new NIKE commercial! Inside Sound Stage One, Tiger Woods, Michelle Wie, Rory McIlroy and other major tour winners

were subjects in the still photography shoot for the sports brand. 120 students from G-Star were welcomed on stage with the renowned American photographer Carlos Serrao, famous for bringing sports action to high fashion. The students were shown how the set was designed, how the lighting was set up, the types of cameras used and how they work both technically and artistically. “It’s experiences like this that add to our students’ creative thinking as they learn from the best,” said Greg Haupt-ner, Founder & CEO of G-Star School of the Arts. “Learning from Carlos Serrao was an honor and once-in-a-lifetime event!” For more info, please visit GStarSchool.org.

DYNAMIC CHANGES AHEAD FOR FLORIDA’S FILM INDUSTRY

PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE FAST LANE

The 2016 Voices of Local Film at the Palm Beach Interna-tional Film Festival will feature a selection of film shorts, docu-mentaries and music videos directed by local filmmakers. A total of seven films will be screened on Wednesday, April 13 at 7:15pm at G-Star School of the Arts.

“Local filmmakers rely on film festivals. These artists are com-mitted to their craft and festivals give them the opportunity to see their work on the big screen,” says Heath McKnight, found-er of The Palm Beach Film Society. Voices of Local Film started in 2003 and has screened over 40 films. “I’m thrilled that two of my films have made it to this competition. This is a fantas-tic festival to be a part of,” said Matt Florio, Director of Ex Marks The Plan, Uptown Trash and 2015 winner of Best Local Film. See this year’s lineup at pbifilmfest.org.

At the close of the 2016 Legislative Session, the Florida Legislature allowed the Entertainment Industry Financial Program to sunset after all efforts failed to pass an extension or a new bill. This marks four straight years that members of the legislature have refused to support a program that has numerous bene-fits, including job creation, economic development, and proven increases to tourism. “Our industry must now come together to begin the process of rebuilding Florida’s well-respected industry. Moving forward, we are going to find ways to remain relevant in the absence of state-funded incentives. We still are the only state with a full-time Los Angeles Office committed to aggressively pursuing every possible lead and making clients feel welcomed with our ‘Can Do’ attitude,” said Film Florida President, Michelle Hillery. Film Florida and partners across the state will now address which urgent measures must be taken to preserve the industry and create a dynamic, universal change in the approach moving for-ward. Show your support for the industry and learn more by visiting filmflorida.org.

Community living in The Palm Beaches presents a multitude of options for people that want to spend their time in the sunshine and not on household chores. From high-rise communities to garden homes and everything in between, there are many places that offer options for this group. For filmmakers looking to capture these unique angles, there are several film-friendly communities that wel-come production, to show off their amenities and the facilities.

Kings Point in Delray Beach is a community that offers many options for filmmakers, including golf courses, a large fitness center, and a massive wood shop. They can capture restau-rants, a poolside bistro, and a theater that seats 1200. Kings Point offers two

clubhouses and five outdoor pools, plus an indoor pool facility. It’s worth a visit to the property to understand all it has to offer. A community on the Intracoastal Water-way is Sterling Village in Boynton Beach. With views of the Boynton Beach Bridge to the north and natural areas to the southeast, the birdwatching and sunrises are an added bonus for residents. Constructed in the 1960’s, the community has more of an institutional look. The property is painted in coastal colors that match the bridge and includes an extra-large swimming pool, patio area, sauna, laundry facility and workshop.

In Her Shoes brought Shirley MacLaine, Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette into The Palm Beaches for a close up at the com-munity of Abbey Delray South, which has undergone a multimillion dollar renovation to include café-style dining for a modern bistro-style culinary experience with a

multicolored feature wall in their Oasis Dining area. The property also includes traditional dining, pool and fitness areas, practice putting green and lush landscaping. For more information on these and other communities that are film-friendly, please visit us online and explore our database of camera-ready communities at pbfilm.com .
