About In-Home Care
In-Home care is a service where you provide a senior or someone with a disability with care needs. This includes:1. Meal preparation 2. Bathing 3. Dressing4. Running errands, 5. Household chores
Nutrition
A proper diet keeps muscles, bones, organs and other body parts in good condition. It is important that as people age, that they continue to get the necessary vitamins and minerals from healthy food. This boosts immunity and fights off illness-causing toxins. It reduces the risk of heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure, eating a proper diet also fights against type -2 diabetes, bone loss, anemia, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease.
Proper Nutrition for Brain Health
Eating brightly colored and leafy vegetables, fish and nuts that are full of omega-3 fatty acids can improve focus and decrease the risk of Alzheimer’s disease
Daily Nutrition
Seniors require 1200mg of calcium for bone health and preventing osteoporosis:- Milk, Yogurt, Cheese- Mushrooms, Kale, Tofu- Soybeans, Brocolli

Women over 50: not physically active = 1,600 calories a day
some physical activity = 1,800 calories a
day
very physically active = 2,000 calories a
day
Men over 50: not physically active = 2,000 calories a day
some physical activity = 2,400 calories a
day

Weight ManagementBetween the ages of 45-65, it is recommended that the average person maintain a proper weight and not have dramatic changes or weight gain. Changes can be a sign of a health problem and can lead to fatigue, cognitive confusion and depression.
