TECHNOLOGY -a machine, piece of equipment, method, use to
invent useful things or to solve some problems easily
- the practical application of knowledge -a capability given by the practical application of
knowledge - a manner of accomplishing a task especially using
technical processes, methods, or knowledge -the specialized aspects of a particular field of
endeavor
IMPORTANCE OF TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION
EEQUALITY- serves as an equalizer of some
disadvantaged students whom the resources is limited.
FUTURE – (FUTURE-ORIENTED),the use of technology is in demand in every aspect of the professional lives/daily lives.
LEARNING vs. TEACHING- learning becomes more interesting for it engages and challenges students with brand new and interactive methods.
COLLABORATION - increases collaboration especially making group projects.
UPDATES – exposed to real time situations.
ASSESSMENTS – assessing students’ performance can be done instantly.
GLOBAL- worldview of students can be expanded
DEPTH OF UNDERSTANDING – interactive simulations and illustrations can produce a much greater of understanding the concept.
CONVENIENCE- lighter than bringing all your books and notebooks.
LOWER COST- (savings) revising books are more expensive than updating software.
Indeed, technology in the field of education can be a powerful tool.
