OVERVIEWWhat is Pearson iLit?Pearson iLit is a comprehensive digital interactive intensive intervention solution targeted toward students in grades four through eight with a proficiency level in reading and writing two or more grades below level and designed to accelerate reading and writing growth and enable students to achieve more than two years of growth within a single school year.
ComponentsPearson iLit consists of four components:
Teacher App: A dynamic, highly portable interactive teacher’s editionStudent App: Where the students do all of their workProjector App: A browser-based app that enables the teacher to control the projector or whiteboard from
his or her tablet or device without having to be connected to the projectorProfessional Learning Community: A Professional Development resource for teachers that houses videos,
PDFs, and other support materials and facilitates communication among teachers
How the System WorksThe Teacher App, Student App, and Projector are connected wirelessly to enable a continuous flow of data from the Teacher App to the Student App and vice versa; to allow the teacher to control the projector or Whiteboard with the tap of a finger; to enable the teacher to send instantly scored whole-class assessments to students and to send instructional content to the student devices during a lesson to ensure that students are focused on the instruction being delivered; and to enable the teacher to send assignments to students, receive those assignments back, comment on and score the assignments, review assignments in progress, review student notebook entries from the Teacher App; and much more.
