II. Roll-type Erosion Control ProductsNote: Sample size is as listed in Sampling Manual. Exercise caution whencutting material. In cases materials is lost in sampling, sample entire roll. Incases where significant amounts of fiber will be lost if the roll is cut, the sampleshall consist of the entire roll.

Notify the District Laboratory in the district in which the warehouse islocated and request ~;ampling and testing for lot approval allowingadequate time for scheduling by the District Laboratory and testing by theMaterials and Testing S;ection.Separate the materials to be sampled into individual rolls according tomanufacturer's lot number. Each roll in a OCTO lot of 200 rolls shall havethe same manufacturer lot number.Provide access to enatlle the District Laboratory personnel to randomlyselect a representative roll.Randomly select roll for sampling.As directed by the District Laboratory personnel, stamp and mark each rollwith the OCTO lot number.After approval of a OCTO lot of rolls. a Certificate of Delivery willaccompany each shipment to the job site.If the lot is not approved, void the OCTO lot number by marking throughthe number.

Identify each manufacturer's lot number and material to be tested by OOTOlot.Randomly select one roll from each different OOTO lot.Witness the warehouse personnel properly sample the material from theselected roll in accordarlce with OOTO S 601.Place sample into plastic bag or container.Write the OOTO and manufacturer lot numbers on the plastic bag orcontainer.Once the samples are taken, witness the warehouse personnel stamp andmark each roll of that lot with the OOTO lot number (obtain stamps for thispurpose from the Materials and Testing Section).Place a properly completed. unsoiled sample identification form in an9

3. Certificate of Delivery from the Warehouse:

B. Sampling at Project Site

Samples should not represent more than 200 rolls of the sameManufacturer's lot.Provide access to enable the project personnel to randomly select arepresentative roll.

Thedisposition of results will be reported by the Materials and Testing Sectionto the project personnel.
