  • Winch typesOur rotary drum winches are available in standardized versions having 2.5-42mt line-pull, ti ll custom made versions having 500mt line-pull and up. Horizontal or verti cal pulling directi on, single or multi layer, with or without spooling device, fl at or (LEBUS) grooved drums, with or without control consoles, including or excluding (syntheti c) wire ropes, electric or hydraulic motor drives, with or without class certi fi cati on; everything is possible!

    GearboxesAs with our customers, IHC Hytop also maintains a long term relati onship with our key supplier Siebenhaar Antriebstechnik GmbH.     DesignThe harshest conditi ons in the o shore & dredging industry demand high reliability and compact design. Wherever feasible the gearboxes are placed inside the winch drums, for easy maintenance but moreover for opti mal frame design (ingoing torque in line with the outgoing). Special seals o er protecti on against intrusion of salt water, sand etc.Technical or economical limitati ons may enforce the use of a gearwheel in combinati on with planetary type slewing drives.Providing, concept studies, basic design, FEM calculati ons, workshop and detailed drawings, our team of specialized engineers will fi nd the right soluti on for you!

    Assembly & Testi ngConstructi on of winch parts is outsourced to dedicated companies outside or within the IHC Merwede group. Assembly and stati c pull-testi ng of winch systems is done in our new workshop having 100mt lift ing capacity. Dynamic winch testi ng can be performed on request.

  • Tracti on winches no longer future talksWater depth limits for o shore fi eld developments are pushed back conti nuously. Sub-sea infrastructures oft en are protected or have a foundati on of rocks accurately dumped using a fall-pipe vessel. Rock dumping through a 1700m long fall pipe, built-up and held steady using 2 winches, pushed back limits for IHC Hytop as well.A 500mT emergency line-pull, and 2000m length of 90mm OD wire rope, enforced us to develop a new generati on tracti on and storage winches. Both have relati ve compact design, high reliability and are gentle for the wire rope to safeguard conti nuity of your operati ons.Using a smart two step gearing system the tracti on winch has stepless speed control in two di erent load-speed spectra, being more fl exible maintaining high e ciency. Our storage winch has a compact spooling device with sheaves, and has an integrated tensioning system providing conti nuous & steady pretension at all speeds, which is required for proper functi oning of your tracti on winch.

    World of Deep Water Lowering open nowOur experti se of swell compensati on systems, together with new generati on tracti on winches, enable us to provide you with complete deep water lowering (DWL) systems as well. Challenge us to help you pushing back your DWL limits!

    Syntheti c ropes on tracti on winches?As water depths and loads are limited by available wire rope diameters and their maximum producti on weight, IHC Hytop will run tests using special syntheti c wire rope onto tracti on winches pushing back water depth limits for your future projects.For the latest status please contact our o ces.

    Dynamic braking on CSDSpuds (pole) are applied onto Cutt er Sucti on Dredgers as rotati on point to swing a cutt er-head over the seabed. Aft er being hoisted through its carrier the spud will be installed into the seabed by a freefall acti on generati ng enormous rotati on speed of a relati ve heavy winch-drum. As planetary gearboxes are not suitable for these speeds, IHC Hytop developed a dynamic braking system for a 200mT weighing spud in parti cular. 8 Hydraulic actuated brakes are circular mounted on the winch frame. Together with a special brake-ring on the non-driven drum-fl ange this is the basis of our system.Full brake engagement allows for spud-hoisti ng; full disengagement starts freefalling the spud. Hydraulic proporti onal actuati on of the brakes enables control of the freefall speed and prevents the winch-drum from keeping rotati ng once the spud is already into the seabed; reverse inerti a.

    Giant compact winchesDredging contractors invest in dredging vessels having increased e ciency. Consequently technical requirements for winches increase, where available space decreases. For some jumbo hopper projects, even our standard compact winch design was not su cient.Therefore together with Siebenhaar we developed the biggest, most compact planetary gearbox available, having special long-life bearings, a 3.000.000Nm output torque, and 1 or multi ple drive connecti ons even at 90 angles. This new generati on gearbox already made it possible for IHC Hytop to deliver very compact winches having very high technical loads, speeds and lifeti me requirements.

Aft er delivery of the goods our service does not have to end.
