An IF statement is an Excel function that allows you to analyse cell content and return a true/false value based on your specific criteria.

If you have not used IF statements before you might find it’s easier to create one by using Insert Function.

From Insert Function choose IF to show the function arguments box below.

In this example I am analysing cell A1 to see if it is more than 50, if the criteria is met, return the value Pass and if not return the value Fail.

Using the Fill Handle copy the function down the column.
