The Competition

IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of up to three IEEE Student or Graduate Student members—proctored by an IEEE member, and often supported by an IEEE Student Branch—compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems.It had 150 participants when it launched in 2006 and grew to more than 5,500 in 2014, but that’s not enough.We want more. IEEEXtreme this year will be held on 22 October 2016 00:00:00 UTC. Registration will be open between 15 August 2016 and 12 October 2016.
Who is eligible ?
All participants must be IEEE members (Student member or Graduate Student member only) to register and compete in the competition.Each team must have a proctor to supervise during the 24-hour programming competition. Proctors should be an IEEE member of higher membership grade (not an undergraduate Student member). Team members must solve and complete the problems without assistance from others.

How does it work ?

IEEEXtreme is an online challenge that every Student Branch is free to choose the way how he will organize the competition.It can be in your university, your college or another location.All what you need is a computer and internet connection to access to the platform of the competition.Participants will use a virtual host platform called HackerRank,that provide you a trial periode to familiarize yourselves.
How does it work ?

Last year, the release of the questions was divided into two 12-hour segments. In the first segment there were 12 problems released. 2 problems were released at the start of the competition, with the remaining problems staggered over the next 12 hours. The second segment we had 10 more problems; 10 problems were released in the first 6 hours with the last problem released no later than about 4 hours before the end of the competition.The unofficial results will be available in HackerRank after the competition.And scoring criteria will be like that:

if you solve a problem correctly, you get 20 points. You can gain 80 extra points depending on how difficult the problem is. The difficulty of any problem comes from how many other teams solved the same problem. Time is not directly included in the scoring formula.So you can take your time and solve the problem correctly.The language you use to solve the problem will not harm your score.Just submit correctly your problem and enjoy IEEEXtreme !

Because by the end ,you are all winners All active participants in the competition will receive a digital certificate and digital gift. “Active participant” is described as a team who makes a reasonable attempt at solving a problem.
