FOREWORD 107

1) This document is a recommendation for national use and is published as a technical specif ication accepted by 108 the Norw egian National Committee, NEK 109

2) In order to promote international unif ication, IEC National Committees under take to apply IEC International 110 Standards transparently to the max imum poss ible ex tent in their national and regional s tandards . A ny 111 divergence between the IEC Standard and the corresponding national or regional s tandard shall be c lear ly 112 indicated in the latter . 113

3) The NEK provides no marking procedure to indicate its approval and cannot be rendered respons ible f o r any 114 equipment dec lared to be in conf ormity w ith one of its s tandards . 115

The main task of IEC technical commit tees is to prepare Internat ional Standards. In 118

except ional c ircumstances, a technical committee may propose the publicat ion of a technical 119 spec ificat ion when 120

• the required support cannot be obtained for the publicat ion of an Internat ional Standard, 121 despite repeated efforts , or 122

• the subject is s t i ll under technical development or where, for any other reason, there is the 123 future but no immediate poss ibi l i ty of an agreement on an Internat iona l Standard. 124

This Technical Spec ificat ion will l ive unt i l i t is t ransferred to IEC Standards by NK 18A. 125
