MALE In spring, males are unmistakable by pattern of plumage. PRIMAVERA. MACHO En primavera, los machos son inconfundibles por el diseño del plumaje.

WINTER. MALE In winter, males can be separated by pattern of head and flank. INVIERNO. MACHO En invierno, los machos pueden ser separados por el diseño de la cabeza y el flanco.

Spanish Sparrow. Winter. Male: long supercilium before the eye (1); brownish crown (2); brown bases of crown feathers (3); with streaked flanks (4). Gorrión moruno. Invierno. Macho: lista superciliar larga delante del ojo (1); píleo pardo (2); base de las plumas del píleo de color marrón (3); flancos con moteado (4).

ADULT FEMALE Females can be deter minated by pattern of plu-mage. CAUTION: no always is possible to separate both species using only the plumage pattern since overlap between them is really high and it is very difficult to find birds fullfilling all the indicated cha-racteristics. HEMBRA ADULTA Las hembras pueden ser determinadas por el diseño del plumaje. CUIDADO: no siempre es posible sepa-rar ambas especies ya que el solapamiento entre am-bas es muy grande y es muy difícil encontrar ejem-plares que cumplan todos los caracteres indicados.

JUVENILES The revised literature indicates that juveniles of both species are indistinguishable. Provided photographs shown only as a differentiating characteristic the presence of a whiter and larger supercilium and pale tips of median coverts in Spanish Sparrow than in House Sparrow (but CAUTION: not always). JUVENILES La bibliografía consultada indica que los juveniles de ambas especies son indistinguibles. De las foto-grafías aportadas se observa únicamente como ca-rácter diferenciador la presencia de más blanca y grande la lista superciliar y la punta de las media-nas coberteras en el gorrión moruno que en el go-rrión común (pero CUIDADO: no siempre).
