We require an experienced and qualified person with excellent communication skills to support the use of technology in the School. This position involves installing and testing computer systems and peripherals within established guidelines, and assisting in the maintenance and testing of servers and associated equipment. The successful applicant will have:
• Minimum 2 years experience supporting Windows OS, especially Windows 10 and MS Office in a Windows server environment
• Minimum 2 years experience supporting Mac OSX and iOS • Experience with supporting the use of IT in schools • Sound and up to date knowledge of the broad range of Microsoft
and Apple products • Experience in troubleshooting printing and network access • Experience in troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing
hardware on both desktops and laptops PCs The following are highly desirable:
• Knowledge with Windows services including AD, DHCP, DNS, IIS • Knowledge with networking concepts in wired and wireless
environment • Experience in supporting devices in BYOD environment • Experience in using SCCM for deployment • Experience in using CASPER device management • Knowledge of Sophos Anti-Virus Enterprise • Experience with IP Phones

IT Support Technician 2017
Level 1 ICT Support Technician
Role Description The IT Support Technician is responsible for assisting staff and teachers in the school with technical support of desktop computers, applications and related technology. This position requires an understanding of specifications, installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established guidelines. The IT Support Technician will also assist in the maintenance and testing of servers and associated equipment. The person reports to the Principal through the IT Manager. Under the direction and guidance of the IT Manager, the key areas of responsibility are:
• Help teachers, staff and students with problems or queries regarding technical issues and provide support to them by either email, over the phone, remotely or in person and solve their computing problems
• Assist teachers, staff and students with the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of laptop / desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software
• Carry out installation and maintenance of equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, etc. • Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment
and software • Monitor equipment for errors or stoppages and take remedial action • Undertake daily back-up and recovery activities • Attend relevant product and skill courses • Implement maintenance and upgrades for system software and hardware • Follow instructions to install and upgrade client/server applications • Identify and install essential software patches • Assist with the installation and rollout of computer hardware and software • Provide users with guidance on the use on AV equipment • Assist in maintaining telephone system
Knowledge and experience:
• Sound and up to date knowledge of the broad range of Microsoft products with Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting Windows OS especially Windows 10 and MS Office in Windows server environment
• Sound and up to date knowledge of the broad range of Apple hardware, applications and OS. • Experience in troubleshooting printing and network access

• Experience with supporting the use of IT in schools • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktop and laptop PCs • Advanced troubleshooting skills • The ability to systematically analyse and solve problems
Highly desirable knowledge:
• Knowledge with Windows services including AD, DHCP, DNS, IIS • Knowledge with networking including wireless, switched and VLAN • Experience in using SCCM for deployment • Knowledge of Sophos Anti-Virus Enterprise • Experience with VDI support • Experience with IP Phones • Knowledge with Windows services including DHCP, DNS, IIS, Wireless, switched and VLAN • The ability to manage Help Desk queues and ticket allocation

motivated • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills • The ability to prioritise and respond to ad-hoc and pre-booked support requests • The ability to monitor computer repairs stock levels and hot swap stock • Willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school • The ability to develop and maintain good relationships with teaching and support staff • Well groomed appearance • Familiarity with school policies and procedures • Willingness to carry out other duties as directed by the Principal

Performance management: Initial probation period of three months. Award: Independent Schools NSW (Support and Operational Staff) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 Hours: 75 hours per fortnight Monday-Friday 8.00am to 4.00pm 4 weeks annual leave.
