Banque Misr was established in 1920 by the pioneer economist andfinancial expert Mohamed Talaat Harb Pasha, who spearheaded theconcept of investing in national savings and directing them towardseconomic and social development. Thus, Banque Misr was establishedas the first wholly Egyptian - owned bank.
