Transitions:There are unique transitions when fading in and out the titles.

The text slowly disintegrates in to tiny cubes/bubbles which

match the music and scene that is happening.

Page 3: I robot

Shots:There are several shots of people stuck in cars, fighting to

get out, drowning. Then there are shots of robots saving the

humans.

They are mostly close

ups. Fast movement

of the camera is

used.

The genre being apocalyptic/science fiction creates certain

conventions in the opening. The text is in capitals – it is bold,

eye catching. The colours in the opening are

blues/silvers/white/black. These colours are connotations of

cleanliness, futurism, space, technology, sci-fi. The choice of

colours also may indicate a target audience : stereotypically

males.

SoundAt the beginning where the titles are appearing, bubbles and

water sounds are used. This shows that the scene is based

underwater.

A rise in volume happens when a soundtrack starts to play as ‘I

ROBOT’ appears. The soundtrack is then used for the rest of the

opening. It is slow pace and has violins. The bubbles/water

sounds continue on top as well.

The music is quite tense as it gets louder and quieter at different

moments.

Foley sounds such as: smashing glass and people speaking

underwater are used.

Sound effects like: ‘swooshes’ are used when the robot is in the

car.
