    2015 NATIONAL TEACHERS MONTH AND WORLD TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION

    1. Attached is Deped Memorandum 99, s. 2015 announcing the celebration of National Teachers' Month and the World Teachers' Day, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 242 and the declaration from the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which is self-explanatory.

    2. In line with the celebration, all public elementary and secondary schools in the division are enjoined to conduct the series of activities in their respective schools to honor and thank our teachers. Please refer to Enclosure I

    3. On October 5, 2015, a Division World Teachers Day will be conducted in Dumaguete City from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Participants to the activity are CID and SGOD personnel, all PSDS5/DICs, all elementary and secondary school heads, Division Outstanding Teachers in 2013 and 2014, teacher contestants, DCP 16, 24, and 25 ICT Coordinators, PTA Presidents of the DCP 16, 24, and 25 recipient schools, and Division WTD working committee members.

    4. Please refer to the attached enclosures for the schedule of activities and contest guidelines of the Division World Teachers' Day Celebration.

    5. Accomplishment reports of the School and District Level celebrations must be submitted to the Division Office on or before October 9, 2015.

    6. Travelling and other expenses relative to the participation in the activity shall be charged against School MOOE/PTA and other local funds subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

    TEACHERS' GOT TALENT Contest Guidelines

    As part of the Schools Division of Negros Oriental World Teachers' Day Celebration, the division will hold the Teachers' Got Talent Competition.

    1. The competition is open to public elementary and secondary school teachers of the Schools

    Division of Negros Oriental.

    2. The contest is open to any type of act or performance: singing, dancing of any genre, and

    specialist acts of any nature provided that costumes and performances are decent.

    3. Only one group contestant per district shall be allowed. Each group will have a minimum

    number of five (5) and a maximum number of ten (10) members.

    4. Each district representative must pre-register on September 30, 2016 by submitting the

    accomplished registration form. (Please see attached)

    5. Each presentation must not exceed five (5) minutes including entrance and exit.

    Performances that exceed time allotment will automatically be disqualified.

    6. Performers must bring their own CD, musical instruments, props, and other paraphernalia.

    7. The criteria for judging will be as follows:

    Talent and Skill 50 pts.

    Originality and Creativity 25 pts.

    Projection and Overall Impact 25 pts.

    TOTAL 100 pts.

    8. Only the top three winners will be announced at the end of the contest.

    9. The decision of the Board of Judges is final.

    DIVISION WORLD TEACHERS' DAY CELEBRATION The Search of Mr. and Ms. FITNESS 2015

    Robinson's Atrium, Dumaguete City October 5, 2015

    i. The contestant must be a bona tide teacher/administrator in any of the districts of Division of Negros Oriental;

    2. Teacher contestant must be 40 years old and above and physically fit;

    3. He /She must attend the scheduled rehearsal on October 4, 2015 at the Division Conference Room at exactly 9:00 a.m and must participate in the final rehearsal on October 4, 2015 at 7:00 pm at the Robinson's Atrium, Dumaguete City;

    4. Back-up dancers will be allowed during the stage performance/presentation; 5. Stage performance must have a minimum of two (2) minutes and a maximum of three ()

    minutes. One (i) minute will be allowed for the preparation. Time starts from the first movement of the candidate. One point shall be subtracted from every judge's score for every to seconds in excess of the allotted maximum time; and

    6. There is only one portion of the event which is portraying either local or international SUPERHEROES but not limited to wit:

    DIVISION WTD K to 12 & BIG ROOKS EXHIBIT Robinsons' Place Dumaguete

    October 5, 2015

    Guidelines:

    i. Each district must have an exhibit during the Division World Teachers' Day Celebration at the Robinsons' Place Dumaguete on October 5, 2015. Each exhibit must include K to 12 Implementation materials including the Localized K to 12 Big Books, including flyers and brochures of the Senior High School offerings.

    2. The panel board used during the Stories and Legends (SAL) Launching shall be the same panel board to be used for the Division WTD exhibit at Robinsons' Place. Please maximize the use of both sides of the panel board.

    3. Districts should bring their entries/materials for the exhibits on October 4, 2015, 7:00 PM at the Robinsons' Place premises ready for put up inside the mall at 9:00 PM.

    2015 NATIONAL TEACHERS' MONTH AND WORLD TEACHERS' DAY CELEBRATIONS

    To: Undersecretaries Assistant Secretaries Bureau Directors Directors of Services, Centers and Heads of Units Regional Directors Schools Division Superintendents Heads, Public and Private Elementary and Secondary Schools All Others Concerned

    1. Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 242 entitled Declaring the Period from 05 September to 05 October of Every Year as "National Teachers' Months signed on August 24, 2011 by His Excellency President Benigno S. Aquino Ill (Enclosure No. 1) and to the designation of the World Teachers' Day every 5th of October by the United Nations Evaluation and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Department of Education (DepEd) will celebrate the National Teachers' Month (NTM) throughout the month of September starting September 5, 2015 with the month-long activities to culminate on October 5, which is the World Teachers' Day (WTD).

    2. The Celebrations aim to:

    a. honor those who are in the teaching profession; b. aclmowledge and give emphasis on the crucial role, loyal service

    and dedicated commitment of teachers in developing globally-minded citizens, nurturing families, strengthening communities, and building the nation;

    c revitalize the image of and respect for teaching as a vocation by increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in the Philippine society;

    d. take the occasion as an opportunity in building the image of teaching as an attractive and fulfilling profession;

    e. generate widespread support and assistance for teachers; and I. express gratitude for the positive influences of teachers on Filipino

    learners.

    3. All public and private elementary and secondary schools, including schools division offices (SDOs) and regional offices (ROs), are enjoined to follow the Synchronized Programs, Projects and Activities (Enclosure No. 2).

    4. on October 5, school-based celebrations, including the recitation of A Prayer for Teachers, Annex A or Panalan gin Para so mga Guro found in Annex B of Enclosure No. I shall be observed.

  • S. Moreover, October 5 is set for district, schools division, regional and nthanal celebrations.

    The Central Office (CO) shall conduct the WTD celebration on October 5, through a whole day program set at Araullo University Gymnasium in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

    6. All school heads, district supervisors, schools division superintendents (SDSs), and regional directors (RDs) are enjoined to actively lead activities for the NTM and WTD celebrations. All expenses relative to NTM and WTD shall be charged to local funds, subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

    7. All schools and district offices, SOOs, regional and central offices we required to post streamers to ensure that the public is aware of the NTM and WTD celebrations. The digital files of the new streamer designs, may be downloaded from www.facebook.com/DepEd.Pltppines . The Official Streamer Design and Logo Design are also provided in Enclosure Nos. 3 and 4, respectively.

    8. In accordance with the Synchronized Programs, Projects and Activities, all SDSs and RiDs are required to submit theft respective plans, foremost of which is the conduct of their respective culminating activity on October 5, 2015, when officials from the DepEd CO will be assigned to attend. SDSs and RDs are also required to submit names and contact numbers of their respective division and regional coordinators for the NTM and WFI) celebrations. The ROs shall consolidate these requirements and submit these on or before the deadline on September 4 to the office of the Undersecretary for Partnerships and External Linkages through externalpartncrshipsdeped.gov.ph , for coordination and monitoring purposes.

    9. Reports on the activities conducted by the schools, district offices, SDOs, and ROs shall include clear photos and a comprehensive documentation of the various activities executed. These reports, including announcements, greetings, and others shall be posted at www.facebook.com/DepEd.Philippines for two months (September and October 2015). All ROs are required to submit a consolidated report for these celebrations to the Office of the Undersecretary for Partnerships and External Linkages through externalpartnership*deped.gov.ph not later than October 31, 2015.

    10. Compliance with the above-mentioned requirements and the Synchronized Programs, Projects and Activities for NTM and WTD celebrations shall be strictly monitored by the Office of the Undersecretary for Partnerships and External Linkages.

    11.     DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM 05 SEPTEMBER 1005 OCTOBER OF EVERY YEAR AS "NATIONAL TEACHERS' MONTH"

    WHEREAS, the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) designated 05 October of every year as 'World Teachers' Day," which is a day to celebrate the central role that teachers play in guiding the children, youth and adults through the life-long learning process;

    WHEREAS, there is a need to generate widespread awareness and support for World Teachers' Day here in the Philippines;

    WHEREAS, it is essential to revitalize the image of teaching as a vocation by increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in Philippine society and national development;

    WHEREAS, the occasion can be used to celebrate the unique role and service that teachers play in guiding families, strengthening communities, and building the nation;

    WHEREAS, to contribute to the growth and development of the teaching profession in the country as well as to publicly express appreciation to teachers, both active and retired, a Teachers' Month Campaign (TMC) was conceived in July 2008 by the Metrobank Foundation, lnt (Mail). De Is Salle Philippines (DSLP), Philippine Business for Education (PBEd), and Campaigns Social Response (CSR), with the special participation of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the support of key business institutions;

    WHEREAS, owing to its success, the Campaign has generated more support from government private companies, and major organizations in 2009 and 2010; and

    WHEREAS, Presidential Proclamation No. 41 (s. 2010) declared the first Friday of September to 05 October 2010 as National Teachers' Month,

    NOW, THEREFORE, I. BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from 05 September to 05 October of every year as'National Teachers' Month.

  • In this regard, and as recommended by the TMC Steering Committee, I also endorse the recitation of the National Prayer for Teachers (Annex A) during the same period.

    Accordingly, all concerned departments, agencies and instrumentalities of the national government, the various local government units, the private sector and the public at large are hereby enjoined to actively participate and support activities and programs for the celebration thereof.
