Club 100 most of them are hesltant ln attendlng meetlngs and taklng part ln olub aotivitles. Posslbly they are unaware of the faot that any person who was a member of the lOOth at anytlme between June 5, 1942 to August 15, 1346, ls ellgible for membership. To those men and to those who left the outfit at Camp MoCoy and at Shelby to join the G-2, a spe01al invltation Is extended. Just phone or oall at the Club House and 1. a v e your name and address wlth NaoJl Yamagata, the Club's exeout.lve seoretary so that meetlng notloes, oopies of the Puka Puka Parade, eto., oan be sent to you.

Aslde from the new olubhouse, the followlng are some of the proJeots for the near future:

(1) Brlng our beloved Chaplaln Yost to Honolulu to perf~rm the ~emorlal Day servloes this ooming September. Do you remember that it was four years ago this September 29 that the 100th battalion (Sep) first saw aotlon and reoel ved oasualtles nort', of Salerno?

(2) Give a free annual party in June to oommemorate the day the lOOth left the Hawai1an Islands--June 5, 1942. Although last year'e turnout was fair, 1t ls felt that many dld not attend the banquet at Pago Pago on aocount of the high oharge.

(3) The history of the 100th Inf. Bn. ls to be written soon. The rough draft of the book aocording to present plans will be ready this summer.

(4) A fund-ra1sing proJeot, probably a oarn1val to be he ld after the new olub houae 18 purohased.

(5) Hold the annual benefit danoe.

(6) Creat10n of a blood bank to be drawn by members and 1mmediate faml1les of members.

(7) A greater and more 1nformatlve Puke Puka Parade.

(8) Inorease oompany aotlvl-

3 tles.

(9) To return a portlon of your dues, posslbly 50 oents to your respeotlve oompany treasurles.

(10) Contlnuatlon of 1nteroompany oompetltlon In softball, bowllJl@:, eto.

(11) Annual Crr1~tmas party. These are the fruits which we

should 11ke to harvest 1n the near future. It wl1l take a lot of hard work, a lot of t1me and a lot of money. What do you say, fellows, let's all p1toh 1n for a greater Club 100!

As offices of the Veterans Administration are o.&.osed all day on Saturdays, veterans who have in the past taken advantage of the Saturday morning overtime hours for payment of insurance premiums are informed. that remi ttances can be made by mail. Premium payments awxud be made payable to the Treasurer, United States, and addressed to Agent Cashier, Veterans Administration, Box ::3198, Honolulu 1, T. H. Special forms for paying insurance premiums by mall are available at the VA office.

Vetsrans liv1ng in rural areas in the islands may wrlte to the Veterans Administrat10n or any one of its contact offioes for information or to arrange for assistance through the itinerant contact service.

All N .. t .i. 0 na 1 Servioe Life Insurance policies oan be reinstated regardless of how long they have been allowed to lapse. Vet e .. · a n s whose policies have lapsed more than six months are required to take a physical examination. If the veteran applies for reinstatement before six months, his policy cm be reinstated by merely signing a statement that he is in good health and paying two month's premiulIls.

General Bradley, Administrator of Veterans Aftairs has consequently authorized an extenSion of time lim1t for reinstatement of both term and converted insurance on a oomparative ~ bas1e, up to and incluu ... ng August 1, 1947. The previous 'deadline' tor reinstatement of all lapsed National Service Lite Insurance on this basis had besn February 1, 1947.

Albert Y. Oki (Hq) is now being employed as a national servlce officer at the headquarters of Disabled American Veterans ln Washington, D. C.

Oki received the position upon his graduation from The American Unlversity.

He expects to return to Hawa11 later thls year and 11'111 be employed by the DAV here.

Wedding glfts from the Oahu Chapter are being sent out to members who walk down the aisle. Paesans of those "going wrongare asked to call up the Club to notify the executlve secretary lest there be those who will not receive the congratulatory gifts from the Club.

Kisuke Arakaki (D) and David Umetsu (C) recently left for Okinawa where they will serve as interpretors on a contracting job.

Hats off to Hideo Kajikawa, our industrious Treasurer. "Kaji' has spent countless hours of his precious t1me in compiling our dues book and working on the books of our Terrltorial corporation in his qulet, efficient way. One must really see the thickness of the dues book to appreciate his Herculsan efforts. Our many thanks also to Mrs. Kajikawa for laboring on the operat lng handle uf the addlng machine in a1ding her hubby.
