HyperMesh provides direct access to a variety ofindustry-leading CAD data formats forgenerating finite element models. Moreover,HyperMesh has robust tools to clean (mend)import edgeometry containing surfaces withgaps, overlaps and misalignments which preventautomeshing and high quality mesh generation.By eliminating misalignments, holes andsuppressing the boundaries between adjacentsurfaces, users can mesh across larger, more

logical regions of the model while improvingoverall meshing speed and quality. Boundaryconditions can be applied to these surfaces forfuture mapping to underlying element data.

HyperMesh presents users with a sophisticatedsuite of easy-to-use tools to build and editmodels. For 2D and 3D model creation, usershave access to a variety of mesh generationpanels besides HyperMesh's powerfulautomeshing module. Automatic mid-surfacegeneration, a comprehensive laminate modelerand morphing (stretch existing FE meshes to newdesign geometries) offer new levels of modelmanipulation.

The surface automeshing module in HyperMeshis a robust tool for mesh generation thatprovides users the ability to interactively adjust avariety of mesh parameters for each surface or

surface edge. These parameters include elementdensity, element biasing, mesh algorithm andmore. Element generation can be automaticallyoptimized for a set of quality criteria.

HyperMesh can also quickly automesh a closedvolume with high-quality first or second ordertetrahedral elements. The tetra-mesh moduleuses the powerful AFLR algorithm. Users cancontrol element growth options for structural orCFD modeling requirements, select tria or quadelements for tetrahedral generation and re-meshlocal regions.

Model set up and assembly is easy withHyperMesh. Weld models using connectors,create contacts, apply boundary conditions andset up solver runs quickly within the HyperMeshinterface.
