VERTICAL FIXING SINGLE

H-Divider bars should be fixed to the wall vertically using adhesive or a mechanical fixing before 2.5mm K-Panel sheets are manoeuvered into position within the dividers as seen above. A 2mm to 3mm expansion gap should be left between the sheet and the centre of the ‘H’ Divider bar as shown.

When fitting K-panel sheets always leave a 2mm to 3mm expansion gap between the sheets at all joints (with the floor, ceiling, windows, doors and with trims and H-Dividers etc.). This allows room for the PVC sheet to expand in very hot temperatures.

A 2mm to 3mm expansion gap should also be created around services and fixtures which penetrate the PVC sheet. For example, pipes, cables, wiring, cross beams etc. These gaps should be filled with siliconewhich will allow expansion to take place without breaking the hygienic seal.

Note: Hot pipes and steam pipes require special attention when fitting K-Panel sheets. They should be insulated and a 3mm to 5mm expansion gap should be allowed and filled with silicone around these pipes.

Note: K-Panel sheets should not be used in close proximity to ovens, hobs and griddles. We recommend 0.9mm stainless steel sheets for these areas.

Welded jointsWhen preparing a welded joint, accurately apply a vertical strip of 50mm wide double-sided foam tape to the wall at the centre point where the two K-Panel sheets will meet. Carefully maneouvre the sheets into position and press on to the tape leaving an even 2mm to 3mm vertical gap where the weldrod can be applied.

Cleaning Strategy & Maintenance for all Hygienik productsAll products can be readily cleaned by regularly washing with copious quantities of water or diluted soap/detergent solutions. The latter has the added advantage of making the PVC surface temporarily anti-static.

We also supply multi-purpose cleaning wipes, that are quick, convenient and highly effective for Hygienik products. These will remove Silicone PU Foam, most adhesives, paints, oils and grease from surfaces, hands and tools. Wipes are supplied in containers of 80 wipes, 20cm x 30cm.

Proprietary cleaners should NOT be used unless specifically stated to be suitable because they contain an abrasive or a solvent that could adversely affect the PVC surface. The materials may be pressure cleaned for sterilisation purposes.

The recommended maximum continuous working temperature of Hygienik products is 60 degrees Celsius/140 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pressure washingPlease note that we do NOT recommend the use of hot water lances for cleaning PVC cladded walls. Extremely hot water that exceeds 60 degrees Celsius and steam can damage the seals.

Careful pressure washer cleaning at lower temperatures in conjunction with good quality detergents will ensure perfect results. In all cases the lance should not be pointed too close to the cladding (within 600mm).
