  • Weight to power ratio of a hydraulic system is comparatively less than that for an electro mechanical system.It is possible to generate high gain in force and power amplification.Hydraulic system is uniform and smooth, generate step less motion and variable speed and force to a greater accuracy.Division and distribution of hydraulic power is simpler and easier than other forms of energy.Limiting and balancing of hydraulic forces are easily performed.Frictional resistance is much less in a hydraulic systems as compared to mechanical.Hydraulic elements can be located at any place and controlled easily.The noise and vibration produced by the hydraulic pumps is minimal.

  • Hydraulic elements have to be machined to a high degree of precision which increases the manufacturing cost of the system.Certain hydraulic systems are exposed to unfriendly and climate and dirty atmosphere as the case of mobile hydraulics like dumpers, loaders, etc.Leakage of hydraulic oil poses a problem to hydraulic user.Hydraulic elements have to be specially treated to protect them against rust, corrosion, dirt, etc.Hydraulic oil may pose problem if it disintegrates due to aging and chemical deterioration.Petroleum based hydraulic oil may pose fire hazards thus limiting the upper level of working temperature. However, due to availability of synthetic fire resistance oils this problem is of academic interest now-a-days. To combat environment effects of petroleum and chemical based oils, efforts are on to use biodegradable oils now.

  • The primary goal of this report is to provide complete information about the project. Since bar bending is an important operation done during construction at construction site, this machine is of extreme use. By making use of such automatic machines we can improve the efficiency of work.

  • Re-bar stands for reinforcing bars. Concrete is a material that is very strong in compression, but relatively weak in tension. To compensate for this imbalance in concretes behavior, re-bar is cast into it to carry the tensile loads.

    The manual bar bending process is difficult and consumes large amount of time. This process causes tiredness and fatigue to the worker in order to do the same work repeatedly. This process involves 2-3 workers for a single operation. And it is difficult to achieve accurate bend angles manually.

    To keep pace with customer demands while phasing out old equipments, hydraulic machines are getting developed as the need is. Hydraulic machines allows for constant load control and makes load distribution compared to the response of a screw drive. A hydraulic machine also has greater flexibility for cyclic and vibrational impacts than does a screw-driven machine.

  • The machine is comprising the hand pump held at the base, the lifting of the lever by the spring will suck the oil from the oil tank through a non return valve and the pressing of the hand will effect the oil sucked from the oil tank to the pump housing will be pushed out through one non return valve to the outlet port to the hose pipe which connects the cylinder for actuation. The oil filling is through the oil inlet port. When the handle by the lever is lifted up, the piston is moved up which is creating the vacuum in the chamber and at the downward stroke of the piston, the oil will not return to the oil container due to the non return valve ball blocking the port, and the inlet valve to the cylinder opens due to the compression pressure of the piston. The oil enters the cylinder to push the ram of the cylinder out through the spring tension. The spring is fixed within the ram which is bolted to the housing. The ram coming out is expanding the spring by pressure of the oil entering the cylinder chamber. Each stroke of the piston operated by the lever in the pump is making the ram to move the ram out of the cylinder. The ram on which the rack gear is fixed will move out of whose teeth are engaged with the spur gear (pinion) which is rotated by the actuation.The center pin of the spur gear will guide the bar to be bend and the offset pin or rod will roll around the center rod bending the bar against the center pin to get the right angle bend or any other angle as required.
