In 1908, the Hungenberg family began farming in Greeley, Colorado. Their farm evolved over the years and, as their farm grew, they narrowed their crops to a few weather dependable and resilient crops, including carrots, cabbage, and onions.

The splendid Colorado summers consist of warm days, and cool nights, which can condense the sugars – which is why Colorado carrots taste sweeter than any other carrot in the world.

For nearly 30 years Hungenberg,’s has specialized in the production of Carrots and Cabbage. They offer a full line of cello, baby peeled, and premium carrots. Carl Worley knows a bit about potatoes. He began growing potatoes in 1942 as a 4-H project. Carl graduated from Colorado A&M (now Colorado State University) in 1952. After serving our country in Korea, he farmed with his father until venturing out on his own. He founded Hi-Land Potato Co. as a packer of high quality table stock potatoes in 1976. It is now co-owned by Worley Family Farms, LLLP and Blue Sky Farms.

Having grown certified potato seed since 1944, Carl was named the Potato Seed Grower of the Year first in the mid-1970s and again in 1993. In 2004, Carl was named the National Potato Grower of the Year.

Carl was involved in the first efforts to produce disease-free potato seed from stem cuttings. His farm currently operates their own on-farm micro-propagation lab and greenhouse facility to help them with these efforts. Carl’s team also operates some of the most modern photo grading and sizing, bagging and labeling, and robotic handling equipment.

One of the things that Carl likes best about growing potatoes is that he likes, “to be involved in and see the growth from planting, growing, harvest, packing shed, all the way to the table.”

Another thing that drives Carl is his desire to, “keep the farm, seed production and commercial production viable for the next generations.”

Friend’s Trading Company is a Family owned business,

Native Coloradans and have been growing micro-greens

and sprouts for 23 years. They started in Greenhouses, but

they are now in a "Food Safe" completely enclosed facility

utilizing Grow lights set to the exact luminosity to match

the greenhouses they were growing in previously.

In January 2010, Pat Duffus and Margy Dalpes decided to

transition their hydroponic gardening operation from an

outdoor greenhouse to an indoor facility using artificial

grow lighting. They were both blown away by the results

and can now maintain the same speed of production

during the winter months. Friend’s Trading Company

currently grows a whole array of vegetables and micro

greens which include sprouts, mung beans, wheat grass,

alfalfa, clover, radishes, broccoli, broccoli shoots, micro-

pea greens, micro-sunflower greens, and much more.

Fiber of Life Farm was started in 2012 by Mark Pierson and Scott Weber. Fiber of Life grows a variety of gourmet mushrooms in Kiowa, Colorado. We are certified organic by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Our mushrooms are grown in an indoor facility where we can control the environmental conditions and produce high quality consistent results. We grow many varieties of Oysters, Shiitake, Lions Mane, King Trumpet and others. We are highly committed to growing Colorado’s finest mushrooms.

Mark was trained by well-known mycologist Paul Stamets in all aspects of mushroom production. All our mushrooms are started from our own culture stock under sterile conditions in a laboratory. We then produce the spawn (mushroom seeds) and add it to the growing medium that is ideal for the specific mushroom we are producing. This includes wheat straw, hardwood sawdust, and wheat bran. Close attention to detail enables us to produce healthy, delicious and nutritious mushrooms for our customers.

Since 1948, the name Fagerberg has been associated with the production of quality oninos.

They have found that the estern slope of the Colorado Rockies offers a climate that is especially suited to production of quality onions. With the help of the dry Colorado days and cool summer nights, they can provide a more natural product due to the fact that our climate reduces the need to apply pesticides and fungicides.

It is their belief that the needs of the farmer and consumer can be served successfully at the same time by adhering to the following basic principles. One, a desire to provide the consumer with the highest guality, most diversely packaged product technology currently affords within their industry. And two, a desire to provide their growers with the best production support and prices possible to help them continue to be successful as independent family farmers.

In 1904 Biase Rossi, a dairy farmer by trade, came from Italy to the United States and settled in Welby, Colorado. With help from his son, Angelo, they started a small dairy farm and initially raised only a few mixed vegetables to help feed their family and several other families in the area.

What started as a small vegetable garden eventually grew so large that in 1932 Rossi Produce opened their own shipping dock and shipped to the U.S. Army and supplied produce to wholesalers in the Denargo Market in Denver.

Biase and sons Angelo, Lawrence, and Frank Rossi continued to grow produce and milk cows in Welby, Colorado. Several decades later (in 1980) Frank’s son, Ray Rossi, moved Rossi Produce to Hudson, Colorado.

For the last 28 years, Rossi Produce has continued growing the very best produce that Colorado has to offer. They farm over 500 acres of summer squash, winter squash, pumpkins, and ornamental items.

With quality as their main focus they are heavy into crop rotation each year and have recently built a new fully refrigerated processing and packing facility. Everything packed and harvested is handpicked and packaged to ensure our customers receive only the finest and best possible produce on delivery.

Table Mountain Farms is run and operated by Quint and Jenny Redmond as a new model for local food farming, distribution and sales. Our central farm is located in Golden, Colorado, with additional farms around the Denver Metro Area. All of the food sold from Table Mountain Farms is grown locally on Agriburbia® farms that are constructed and maintained by professional farmers.

Table Mountain Farms is a model property that exemplifies the principles of Agriburbia® and explores the possibilities of fully sustainable living in the modern age. We follow an “all-natural” practice that overlaps in many ways with organic practices. Table Mountain Farm’s solar power and drip irrigation is used to efficiently and effectively water the crops, using much less water than a traditional landscape. All of the farm operations utilize minimally mechanized principles and bio-intensive layouts for efficient labor and production. Only natural/organic pest and weed controls are used on the farm - plants such as marigolds and zinnias act as natural pesticides, and good old-fashioned shovels, trowels, and pitch forks keep the weeds away. We believe that knowing your farmer will always outweigh any information you get from a label. Please stop by the farm to see for yourself where the amazing produce we deliver is grown!

The DiSanti family started farming in Pueblo, CO in 1890 just a few miles from the current headquarters on the St. Charles Mesa. With humble beginnings raising sugar beets and a small amount of vegetables, the DiSanti family has evolved to a retail and wholesale grower and shipper that produce 26 different crops which are marketed throughout the state of Colorado.

The Colorado growing season allows this operation to begin harvesting some crops in early May and continue throughout the summer until the first frost in the fall. Now in its fifth generation, DiSanti Farms maintains a strong commitment to family values, a rural lifestyle, and to providing the freshest and highest quality produce to their local communities.

Our family strives to operate a sustainable fresh fruit and vegetable operation that complements all sectors of the fresh produce industry and our diversified economic endeavors. Our pride is embedded in the fresh, safe, and wholesome produce that is served to our clients and local community. We always aim to utilize the Lord’s resources in a responsible manner, create an encouraging and exciting work place, and maintain agriculture’s strong community commitment while adding to years of experience and traditions.
