Short term training programmes for teachers of PG teaching institutes2-4 weeks training for 12-15 faculty members in advanced techniques of biotechnology Proposals invited from NBRC, TIFR, AIIMS, NII, ICGEB, CRI, IIR, CMC, TERI, IARI, GBPUA&T, UAS, IVRI, IIT, UICT, NCCS, NIO, CCMB, IISC, Bose Institute Proposals received, considered by 3 member expert committee Proposals recommended for support by DBT.

Fellowships : (i) DBT-Junior Research Fellowship Initiated in 2004 Provision for 100 JRF per year Selection by Biotechnology eligibility test conducted by University of Poona (Pune)Number to be increased to 500 in a phased manner.
