Vitamin D is activated in the skin from an inactive form

Osteoporosis = imbalance btw. production and destruction

RDA for >70 y.o. = 1,200 mg
Foods that contain vitamin D include: butter, eggs, fish
liver oils, margarine, fortified milk and juice,
portabella and shiitake mushrooms, and oily fishes
such as salmon, tuna, and herring.
