Have you ever ound yoursel

snared by some particularly persistentproblemstuck with some stubbornspot o trouble you just cant seem tox? Youve done everything you know

to do. Youve ocused on it, thoughtabout it, and scratched your head overit, but you still cant gure out whatsbehind it.

You dont know why it is like it is. Itjust is. So you call up your riends andtalk about it. You describe the problemto one person and then another. Again

and again, you say things like, Man, thisis bad and nothing I do seems to help.

Maybe you even know better than

to talk that way. But youve gottenso caught up in the negative owo the circumstances and the worldaround you, you just open your mouthand let it rip. You release a torrent ounbelieving, ungodly conessions that

actually perpetuate the lousy conditionyoure so desperate to change.

I know youve done it because we allhave at one time or another.

Well, I cant help it, some mightsay, thats just the way I am. I tell it likeit is. I call things the way I see them.God understands that about me.

Oh yes, He understands it all right.He also understands that as long as

we keep telling it like it is, its going tostay that way; as long as we keep callingthings like they are, those things arenever going to change.

Like it or not, this is a word-created,

word-controlled universe. Godestablished it that way rom the verybeginning. He made everything bycalling things which be notas thoughthey were (Romans 4:17). He set this

whole system in motion by speaking

into the darkness and saying, Lightbe! and light was (Genesis 1:3).

Te whole Bible, rom Genesis toRevelation, makes it clear that we live

under a word-activated system. Itsalways been that way and it always

will be. We cant change that act. Wecan, however, choose the words under

which we live. We can change ourenvironment by what we say.

Jesus explained it this way inMatthew 12:34-37: out o the

abundance o the heart the mouthspeaketh. A good man out o the goodtreasure o the heart bringeth orthgood things: and an evil man out o

the evil treasure bringeth orth evilthings. But I say unto you, Tat everyidle word that men shall speak, theyshall give account thereo in the day o

Paddling Upstream

Tose verses leave no doubt: What

comes out o our hearts through thewords o our mouths determineswhat comes to pass in our lives. Itsthe absolute truth. Yet even those o

us who know it sometimes let therevelation slip away rom us. Welet ourselves be robbed o it by theBabylonian world system around us.

People in that system cant under-stand what Jesus said about words. Itsounds crazy to them. Teyve been

brainwashed by the devil to thinkthat things can only be changed withnatural thought and natural energy.Because the gospel is hidden to them,theyre trapped in a worldly mindsetthat seems right, but the end thereo

are the ways o death (Proverbs 16:25).

As born-again children o God,however, you and I arent stuck withthe worlds way o thinking and acting.

We can operate Gods way. Instead otrying to change things with naturalthought and energy, we have the rightand the ability to change them the way

He doeswith supernatural thinkingand supernatural energy. We can releaseHis power in our own lives and in the

world around us with the words oour mouths.

o do that, however, we must bediligent to study Te Word and renewour minds with it. Its easy to think like

God thinks when were at church andeveryone is owing together in aith. Itseasy in that environment to declare Te

Word over the trouble spots in our lives.

But when you go back out into

the world and youre surroundedby unbelievers, its another thingaltogether. Sticking with Gods wayo thinking and speaking when thelow-level logic o the world is slapping

you in the ace all the time is tough.o do it, you have to go against theconstant, negative current o thenatural environment around you.

Jerry Savelle used to compare it topaddling upstream.

Its been years since Ive heard himpreach about it, but Ive never orgotten

what he said. Hed talk about how thewhole world is in a negative ow. Itsgoing the wrong way. I you just relax,

you wind up driting downstreamwith everyone else and end up sick,broke and dead. So you have to build

yoursel a spiritual canoe out o GodsWord. You have to grab your aith oars,get yoursel turned around and start

rowing the other way.

I can still see Brother Jerry in myminds eye, preaching up a storm andpaddling that invisible canoe. Hed

talk about how exciting it is, at rst,to be moving in a new direction,speaking words o aith and getting

your lie headed Gods way. For a while,

everything is going neyoure seeingresults and shouting the victory.

Ten the yammering o the worldstarts to inuence you. You get tired o

paddling. You lay down your oars, putyour eet up and say, Tis aith stu istoo hard. Im sick o calling things thatbe not as though they were. Im going

Activating the Power ofBe

But, Brother Copeland, I justdont eel like my words have thatmuch authority.

It doesnt matter how you eel about

it. It matters what the Bible says andthe Bible is crystal clear. It says Jesushas been given all authority both inheaven and in earth (Matthew 28:18),

and because you are in Him, thatauthority is yours. It says youve beenmade alive together with Christ (bygrace you have been saved), and raised

up together, and made to sit togetherin the heavenly places in Christ Jesus...ar above all principality and powerand might and dominion, and everyname that is named, not only in this

age but also in that which is to come(Ephesians 2:5-6, 1:21,New King

James Version).

Just like Adam in the Garden oEden, God has given you, through yourrelationship with Jesus, His very ownauthority with which to rule this earth.He has given you the right to use His

Word to create and change things just

like He does.

Tats not all Hes given you, either.He has also given you the spiritualpower to enorce that Word. Tink o a

policeman and youll see why thats soimportant. A policeman has authorityto stand in the middle o the street andstop trafc simply by holding up his

hand. He has the right to do it. But hedoesnt necessarily have the power toenorce his command. I an 18-wheelerdisregards his authority and doesntstop, the policeman better get out othe way because he doesnt have thepower to oppose an 18-wheel truck (ora 4,000-pound car, or that matter).

I did a study on it a ew years agoand ound it all through the Bible. Itsin Genesis where God says, Lightbe!(thats the accurate Hebrewtranslation), and Firmament be!andMan be!It crops up throughout both

Amen means so be it. Tats whywe say it at the end o our prayers. Itmakes sense, doesnt it? In prayer, we

declare what we want according toTe Word and will o God, and thenwe nish up by saying, Prayer be! orIt be! For the most part, we haventrealized what were doing because weve

turned amen into a religious tradition.But thats not how it started out.

It started with Jesus. Hes the Onewho taught us to express our aith by

praying and speaking the powerullittle word be. Consider what Hesaid in Mark 11:22-23: Have aithin God. For verily I say unto you,

Tat whosoever shall say unto thismountain, Bethou removed, and bethou cast into the sea; and shall notdoubt in his heart, but shall believe

Yes, Its That Simple!

Jesus understood the creative powero the word be!Its the power behindall creation. Its what releases the lightin the midst o darkness.

Tats why Jesus spoke like Hedid. Tats why He said to the leperwho came or healing, Bethou clean(Mark 1:41). Its why He said to thecenturion who came seeking healing

or his servant, As thou hast believed,so beit done unto thee (Matthew8:13). Its why He calmed the storm bysaying, Peace, bestill (Mark 4:39).

When Jesus said, Be, He wasreleasing Holy Ghost power (thepower o HE BLESSING) to create

dominion o darkness to the kingdomo light. You stopped being a childo the devil and became a child oAlmighty God. You inherited everyblessing in heavenly places. Youreternal destiny was changed because

you spoke by aith, not what you had,but what you wanted.

When it did, whether you realize itor not, God restored HE BLESSINGo Eden to you and gave you the same

commission He rst gave Adamtotake the power o HE BLESSINGand put it to work in the world. oexercise dominion and subdue whatneeds to be subdued, and to be ruitul,

multiply and replenish the earth.

Do you know what the wordreplenish means? It means toperpetually renew and supply. Tats

our job as Christiansto perpetuallybring renewal and supply everywhere

we go. When things get out o handand situations on earth start to go wild

(whether its the economy, or politics,or natural disasters) were not supposedto jump into the ow o negativity

with everyone else and start talking

Prayer for Salvation and Baptism in the

Holy Spirit

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name o Jesus. Your Word says, Whosoever shall call on the nameo the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:21). I am calling on

You. I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and beLord over my lie according to Romans 10:9-10: I thou shalt coness with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, andshalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him

rom the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heartman believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth

conession is made unto salvation. I do that now. Iconess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart thatGod raised Him rom the dead.

I am now reborn! I am a Christiana childo Almighty God! I am saved! You also said in YourWord, I ye then, being evil, know how to give good

gits unto your children: HOW MUCH MOREshall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit tothem that ask him? (Luke 11:13). Im also askingYou to fll me with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, riseup within me as I praise God. I ully expect to speak

with other tongues as You give me the utterance(Acts 2:4). In Jesus Name. Amen!

Continue with the blessing God has given you andpray in the spirit every day.

You are a born-again, Spirit-lled believer. Youll

never be the same!Find a good church that boldly preaches Gods Word

and obeys it. Become part o a church amily who willlove and care or you as you love and care or them.

We need to be connected to each other. It increases

our strength in God. Its Gods plan or us.
