These are not case sensitive, but it is always best to treat this information like it is, so type in the username and password exactly as they appear.

Type the student’s name in the top fields.

Each box (minus the optional middle name box and the “Group” section) must be filled in. Usernames for Tunxis begin with “TCC-” and are followed with the first initial of the student’s first name followed by the last name. The password is “Tunxis1” for all students. Click “Submit.”

What do I need to do to prepare for the test?Go to the computer lab (CL. 4)

and ask for the first 2 rows of computers to be logged on 15-20 minutes before the test begins.

Once the students have arrived and chosen a computer that has been logged on, hand out the log-in sheet (previous slide) with the scrap paper and pencil. Go over the sheet with them as a group.

What do I say?Offer assistance if needed to log on.Let the students know the pretest is

broken down into two parts (or three for some programs).

Let them know the start button is located on the left side of the screen.

Once they finish one test, they should write their score on the handout and can continue to the next section by clicking on “Return to My Assignments” and then clicking on “Math” and/or “Locating Info.”

Things to warn students about:

Do NOT try to install any programs or software. It is noted on the handout. Make sure students read everything.

Writing may be small on some questions. A blue “Enlarge” button may appear on the upper right. Students can click on this to read questions easier. To close this view, they must use the “Close” button that replaces the “Enlarge” button. NEVER click on the red “X” on the left. It will exit the student from the test WITHOUT saving. The test will need to be restarted from the beginning.

If they do not meet the goal, they can retake the test once more by clicking on “Retake” that replaces “Start.”
