LANDING PAGESWhen creating your pages, keep in mind that with the way most WordPress SEO plugins are designed, you can optimise one page per one keyword/key phrase. (one ad per page)

Think about the mind set of the person clicking your link. What is that person looking for ?

Will my landing page offer the person who clicks on my link the information they are looking for ?

LETS OPTIMISE OUR PAGESThis is the moment you have been waiting for. This is the part where you release your creative juices and offer your pages the most SEO friendly web page.

When designing your phrases think about the fact that you should be using your key phrases consistently through your pages:

BACKLINKS – WHAT ARE THEY?

Backlinks are links on other sites which lead

back to your site.

BACKLINKS – WHY ARE THEY IMPORTANT

Backlinks are VERY important for your business because they help spread the word about your brand by leading readers back to you.

Google places a high value on backlinks and gives more attention to websites with high page and domain authority. This means that the credible, popular sites that generate a lot of traffic are favored by Google.

So, if you want your links to be valuable, try to connect with bloggers and services who generate a lot of interest and traffic and who rank on the first page of Google.

Being friends with the cool kids will help your rankings!

BACKLINKS – HOW DO I GROW MY BACKLINKS?

Try to use descriptive keywords or key phrases in your anchor text

Incorporate links pointing back to your site in all your marketing endeavors such as :• Blogs, social media posts, images, Email headers• Establish relationships with other bloggers. Try to find

bloggers with a similar interest or offering. Respond to their posts with positive comments and offer links back to your site.

WHAT IS A SITEMAP?

• A sitemap offers Google an inventory layout of all

pages present on the website in a hierarchical

format

Page 14: How to optimise your WordPress website for search engines and get your offerings found by the right people Presented by: Women In Business with Maggie

WHY IS A SITEMAP IMPORTANT FOR SEO?

• Sitemaps allow Google to find pages that may not be linked in other areas of the website and do not have internal links

• Sitemaps tell the search engines which pages on the website to crawl.

• Uploading a sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools (GWT) can speed up the process of your website being found on Google.

• Google ranks web pages as well, not just websites, and having a sitemap visible to Google will improve your SEO and ensure all your pages are found.
