How to make a virtual tour of

your school Get (borrow) a 360º camera or use your smartphone

This day and age, almost every building in the world has a virtual tour. They might use it for promotions, education, or to show off their building while half the world is in lockdown.

One thing’s for sure, virtual tours are making a massive impact on an incarcerated world!

One such area where virtual tours are becoming massively popular is the educational sector. Virtual tours for schools, universities, nurseries or campuses are ever so popular. But how do you make a virtual tour of your school?

Here’s the steps:

1. Get (borrow) a 360º camera or use your smartphone 2. Take your pictures 3. Upload them to a virtual tour software 4. Link your images 5. Publish your virtual tour online

Ok, that was a bit fast, so here’s some more details:

Camera:

You can either use a 360º camera to make the images, or use the Google Street View App. The latter is an app on your phone, it is free, but the quality is not very good, so use with care!

Perhaps someone at your school will already have a samsung gear, ricoh theta, insta360 or similar camera, so ask around to see if someone has one of these.

Software

Now you need a software to create the virtual tour with.

Once you have shot the images, they will just be open shots, like a normal image… you want the image to turn and link them so one can move from one scene to the next!

This is why you need a 360º virtual tour software.

Publishing

Now you need to publish your tour! You can share it on facebook, or other social media channels, or embed it on your school’s website.

With the My360 software you do get an embed code but you also get the direct link to the tour. So you can share that link also on whatsapp, or per email.
