Assumes that you already have registered to Amazon and have access to your x.509 certificate
and Private key.
If you have registered but lost your private I have included
instructions on how to re-create.
Purchase Portal / WCM AMI- There is no charge but you
need to go through the process. http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/entry.jspa?externalID
=2048
Log on or sign-up to Amazon EC2
Ask someone with the Propsero snap shot to share it with you.
You will need to supply your EC2 account details to your colleague
for them to do this. e.g. 1998-2426-xxxx
Access Prospero Snapshot and Create EBS Volume
Take note of the time zone, it has to be the same as the AMI (will be clear later)
Launch AMI
Zone us-east-1a
(Same as EBS volume)
Create new x509 cert
What is the Host name?
Add Private Key creation
Attach EBS Volume – must have been created in the same time zone as the Instance. E.g. East

Start WebSphere Portal

Start WebSphere Portal server
Wait
Wait for “Open for e-business”
Start HTTP Server
Ensure http over tcp, required ports from
0.0.0.0/0 is added to Security Group
Connection URLs• WebSphere Portal home page (if HTTP Server
is stopped): • http://<public host name>:10040/wps/portal• WebSphere Portal home page (if HTTP Server
is active): • http://<public host name>/wps/portal• WebSphere Application Server admin console:• http://<public host name>:10027/ibm/console
