How I created my Double Page Spread
Tamera Lall
I created my double-page spread using Adobe InDesign because the layout is key in these
pages.
First I placed my images on the left-hand page. I didn’t have to change the background as I wanted it to be plain white.
I then added boxes underneath the smaller images and put in red text to explain what is going on in each picture. This is in order to create captions for the pictures.
I then added in the main title, the strap line and the by line. I got the font from dafont.com and put the colours to match the rest of the magazine. I put a red rectangle
and put white font inside as this is done constantly throughout.
I then copied the main body of text of the Microsoft Word document that it was originally written on. I made sure the questions were in bold and the answers were in regular font. I also placed in a Drop caps and put the first word in red.
Finally I placed the page numbers by placing them in a bright red circle with a white font for the actual numbers. I then put the magazine website ‘revelation.com’ and the issue number in the same font as the magazine’s logo. All the colours throughout my magazine stay consistent.
