How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?


During our research planning and evaluation stages we used a wide variety of media technologies these included:-Youtube-Survey Monkey-Canon 600d Cameras-photoshop-fireworks-Blogger-final cut pro-Slideshare-twitter-facebook

Using these various pieces of media technologies we were able to have superior research and develop our music video, advert and Digi-pak to higher standard. Blogger also allowed us to keep up to date with the progress we had made individually and in the group.


Blogger made it easy to compile my research, planning and evaluation and meant that I could access and edit any previous work I created or make an update for my work easily. Blogger was important as it kept my work organised and gave me the ability to post progress of my work as well as being able to embed YouTube videos and attach links to websites like slide share.


Slide share was very useful in making it easy to upload PowerPoint's on the internet. This was useful due to the fact all my evaluation is done on power points and also makes then easily accessible as I can embed them on blogger.


Survey monkey made it very easy to carry out my quantative research. Survey monkey allows you to create a 10 long questionnaire that can then be distributed onto various social networking sites like Facebook and twitter. we did this to effectively get our questions out to our audience and get responses quickly.

Fireworks was our primary tool for the creation of our Digi-Pak. It was vital in process of its creation as it allowed us to create numerous different version of the Digi-Pak quickly and to find out which one was best suited to our genre. It was also very useful for numerous different effects such as smudging and it also made it easier to create the triangle logo for the band when we uploaded out images and then combine it all together.

Photoshop had the same bonuses as fireworks did largely and we used it for the creation of our advert. We also used Photoshop to edit the images we captured of the band to help then stand out more.

Fireworks and Photoshop were also very useful in making sure our there was a form of cohesion between our ancillary texts and allowed us to re-use our main triangle image with easy and adapt to each of our products.


Final cut pro was probably the must important technology involved in our production. We used final cut pro to create and edit our music video by having all the clips in one place and being able to easily move or shorten our clips when necessary and with ease.

Final cuts ability to slice up individual clips meant that we could easily create a fast paced video with lots of cuts which is what we wanted as thought it would appeal to our target audience it also meant it was easier to match the audio to the clip and make quick small changes.

We also used the effects in Final cut lie bloom in order to increase the appeal of the music video and brighten up a clip.


Canon 600d Cameras HDMI

The Canon 600d was a very good camera for our music video as it could store all our clips in order and it had a very high definition so our filming was of quality.
