Hi I’m Moses and this is

Jesus and we want to

introduce the

Easy to Learn…

Trigonometric Functions

Page 6: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

Soh Cah! To-a!

Cho Sha Cao.. La..Hindi

Chinese!!!!!!!!

Of course no!! That are the key words to

remember the 6 Trigo. Functions… Let us try

them, shall we?

Page 7: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

We call this diagonal side as…

We call this diagonal side as…

If the angle is at that

part then the side that is

it’s front view is

what we call

And lastly this side is what we call…

But first let us talk

about the different side of a triangle

before we discuss

the 6. trigo functions.

Page 8: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

• Soh means that Sin = Opposite Hypotenuse

Cah means that Cos = Adjacent

Hypotenuse

Toa means that Tan = Opposite

Adjacent

Page 9: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

Cho means that Csc = Hypotenuse

OppositeSha means that Sec = Hypotenuse

AdjacentCao means that Cot = Adjacent

Hypotenuse

Page 10: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

“Sha” Sec Ө = Hypotenuse Adjacent

“Cao” CotӨ = Adjacent Hypotenuse

As well as Cos. is opp. with Sec. and Tan is opp. With Cot

Don’t forget that sine is opposite with csc (cosecant).

Page 11: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

• If Sin and Csc are opp. Then SinӨ=1

CscAs well as CosӨ =1 Sec and TanӨ =1 Cot

Wait!! O.O

Page 12: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

Let’s try so if you are given those shown on the graph how will you get side of C?

Always don’t forget the formula:

c2 = a2+b2 for Pythagorean.As you can also see C is the Hypotenuse and A & B depends on where is the given

angle but in a graph of x & y axis it is mostly at angle A

Wait you haven’t learned how to use

PythagoreanSimple using the c2 = a2+b2 transpose

the square root which will make it c= square root of 122+52 add them will make

it c= square root of 169 which is …………………13

Page 13: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

I’m shock with your

faces mate/s, it

seems like you are all ready.

Ready for my

ultimate extremesample problem

sfor you all >:)

Page 14: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

• If you are given (5,-12) find the 6 trigo. functions.

Next enter will show the correct answers

SinӨ=-12/13 CscӨ=13/12

CosӨ=5/13 SecӨ=13/5

TanӨ=12/5 CotӨ=5/-12

Well I assume you have gotten the correct answers but I would still

give the solution though for the

unfortunates. >:)

Page 15: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

(5,-12)

X

y5-a

-12-o13-h

Solution:c2=a2 +b2

c= 52 +122

c= 169

c=13If SinӨ= o/h

SinӨ= -12/13

Do this to the other 5 trigo. functions and you’ll ended up

with the correct answer

Always remember to

neglect negative

signs when using

Pythagorean

?

Ө

Page 16: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

Still for the unfortunates … don’t lose hope, you can do it. You could try to contact your math teacher for

further explanation.

1 Samuel 17:23

… Goliath, the Philistine champion from Gath, stepped out from his lines and shouted his usual defiance, and David heard it.

1 Samuel 17:50

So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone…

Page 19: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

How can I hit Goliath straight on the head?

Muhahahahaa

I know! I need to know the angle of elevation between us!!

Nobody can stop me!

Page 20: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

First to know is his height which is 9 ft.

Second to know is the distance between us which is 20 ft.

Now I can form a right triangle

Page 21: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

Now I can get the angle in which I will use to hit him on the head using my slingshot yey!

Page 22: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

To get the angle , Using tanӨ = Opposite / Adjacent = 9/ 20

tan Ө =

920

Ө = tan-1 (0.45)

Ө = 24.228°

Page 23: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

Now I can get the angle in which I will use to hit him on the head using my slingshot yey!

I found the angle! It’s hitting time! Slingshot!

Luke 19: 3-4

Zacchaeus wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd.

So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see Him since Jesus was coming that way.

Page 26: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

I am Jesus!!!!

Hallelujah!!!!!!! Jesus Christ has come!! Reign the King of

Kings!!!!

Page 27: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

I’m Zacchaeus,

Jesus!!! Where?

Where? I can’t see

Him!!!

I am too small..but wait…. I know!!!!!!! I need to climb up on the Sycamore tree and find out the how high I need to climb to see Jesus!

To see JESUS!! knowing that the angle of depression is 45º

Page 28: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

An angle of depression of 45 degrees…means it has a complementary angle of 45º

Page 29: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

Get the distance between us which is 8 ft.The complementary angle of the angle of depression of 45º

Now I can find out the height

By forming a right triangle

Page 30: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

To get the height Zacchaeus needs to climb up , by Using tan 45º= Opposite / Adjacent = 8/A

tan 45º=

8A

A = 8 / tan 45º

A = 8 ft.

Page 31: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry
Page 32: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

Climbing time!!! I gotta see Jesus!! 8

ft. high is no big deal!! :P

Page 33: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

I can see JESUS!!!!!

they were overjoyed.

When they saw the

star,

Matthew 2: 10

Page 35: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

Ever wonder how the 3 wise men,

They actually used trigonometry using the angle of depression of the bright STAR.

find baby Jesus’ manger?

Genesis 8:18

So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.

Genesis 8:8

Then Noah sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground

Page 41: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

It rained for 40 days and 40 nights… But Noah survived

the terrible storm because he obeyed the Lord and had

built an ark. He was in the middle of the sea. He had

devised a plan in order to know if there is land yet. He

had used a dove and had computed the distance between

the dove’s altitude and the distance from his ark to the island.

Matthew 4:8

Again, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.

Page 53: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

This is the fundamental lie Satan would like us all to believe.

Page 54: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

“All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.”

C‘mon Jesus! The audience will help you find out the angle of depression you want ,to view these riches!!

Now audience help me ok?! I’ll show you the necessary details, it’s your turn to find out the angle by yourself!

Sorry dear devil, I don’t like.

Page 55: How Bible is Integrated With Trigonometry

Look for the angle of depression by

yourself! Your answer should be ….nuh-uh! Find it

yourself! Ok?! Ask your teacher to

find out the answer!
