| Terms and Conditions Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor

Accountable to: Facilities Manager

Location: Woodrow High House, Amersham, Buckinghamshire, HP7 0QG

Salary: £14’726.40 per annum

Hours: 30 hours per week

Pension: In line with auto-enrolment regulation, you will be enrolled in a pension scheme with The People’s Pension if eligible. Your contribution will be set by legislation. This is currently 4% and London Youth will make contributions of 4% also.

| About Woodrow High House Located in the Chilterns, Woodrow High House is a 26-acre site made up of a Grade II listed manor house dating back to the mid-1600s, boasting a 120-bed Outdoor Learning Centre and Leisure Centre complete with swimming pool, sports hall, 3G astroturf pitch and mountain bike track. London Youth has owned and operated Woodrow since 1945, delivering memorable experiences for over 8,000 children and young people each year. The sports facilities are used by house guests and the local community. The pool is used by private hire local community groups, house guests, and hundreds of children who attend our swim school each week.

| The Woodrow Team The Housekeeping Supervisor works closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure the site’s buildings are maintained and safe for the circa 50 staff and 8,000+ guests who use our facilities. This role supervises a team of three part-time housekeepers. You will work across teams at Woodrow High House to support operations and deliver first-class customer experiences for all our guests and staff.

| The Housekeeping Supervisor Role As our Housekeeping Supervisor, your role is essential in maintaining the highest of cleaning standards of Woodrow High House by ensuring daily housekeeping operations run smoothly. You are responsible for the overall cleanliness of the site’s buildings, and will lead, train and supervise your team in delivering an outstanding customer experience. This role is hands-on and will include oversight and management of the day to day housekeeping tasks; cleaning of the building’s communal areas, guest bedrooms and bathrooms; as well as preparation of bedrooms for arriving residential groups. The Housekeeping Supervisor will also be responsible for the ordering of laundry, equipment and cleaning materials. This role plays a key part in the future success of Woodrow High House by providing first-class customer service experiences to our customers who will keep wanting to return. We are looking for someone enthusiastic, motivated, and customer focused. We expect you to bring your knowledge and experience of housekeeping services, practices and procedures; as well as excellent supervisory, organisational and customer service skills. More widely, you will be expected to play a proactive part in the implementation of the work and policy of London Youth as a whole, supporting the vision, mission and aims of the charity.

| Role Description – Main Duties & Tasks

| Supervisory Duties

ü Ensure all housekeeping areas of responsibility are run effectively, maintaining the highest standards for all guest accommodation and communal areas

ü Keep work areas tidy, safe and report any hazard, accident, loss or damage to management and observe all requirements under health and safety legislation

ü Ensure your team adopt safe and hygienic working best practices by complying with relevant legislation, including The Health and Safety at Work Act and COSHH Regulations

ü Encourage and motivate the housekeeping team on a daily basis to complete all tasks to an exceptional quality, focuses on improving and increasing service delivery efficiency

ü Schedule shifts and arrange for replacements in cases of absence ü Ensure your team of staff are well managed and supported with regular 121s and appraisals,

including identification of relevant training needs and CPD opportunities

| Housekeeping & Cleaning Tasks

ü Assist in the daily cleaning and preparation of rooms, bathrooms and communal areas ü Advise the operation’s team on accommodation issues to enable arrivals and departures to be

effective and welcoming for our guests ü Plan and ensure seasonal deep cleans take place, working closely with the operations team

to identify appropriate times to carry this essential work out ü Support events for VIP’s or for London Youth Leadership and Senior Team as required ü Deliver the highest standards of customer service at all times and meet all guest interactions

and requests with friendly efficiency, politeness and courtesy ü Any other housekeeping/ laundry duties as may be required from time to time

| Inventory Control

ü Maintain efficient stock control procedures to ensure cost effective use of products and related housekeeping resources, including cleaning equipment and chemicals.

ü Manage weekly stock takes of linen and liaise with linen provider to ensure collection and delivery in line with guest departures and arrivals.

ü Supervise external contracts including hygiene systems when on site ü Make recommendations for suppliers based on comparative levels of service and pricing
