Tiger Invasion! Lewis & Clark High School Students Earn Credits With Internships

As the school season finished, three Lewis & Clark High School students completed internships with SPR to complete their Practicum in Community Involvement course.

SPR listeners could hear one of them on-air. Siobhan Flanagan began as a production intern to Verne Windham and eventually took over the Broadway Matinee program. Her work, coupled with her involvement in the school’s Tiger Drama program, earned her a special award from Seattle’s Fifth Avenue Theatre.

Brendan Finch interned with Production Director Patrick Klausen; his work is heard in several member and underwriter testimonials airing on KPBX and KSFC.

Jacob C Hagen was teamed with Zan as she prepared to produce new

Soundspace episodes for KPBX. Zan says the partnership was a true gift, providing the technical aspect so she could focus on the music and content.

A fourth student, Katherine Lawlor, spent her junior year interning through a different project at LCHS. Katherine began as a marketing intern, but expanded her knowledge of radio by assisting the production of this summer’s short series Inland Northwest History Moment. She plans to continue assisting SPR during her senior year.

SPR continues to expand its internship program. Anyone interested in internships for high school or college credit can email [email protected] or speak with Stephanie Ingoldby at 328-5729.

Nancy Roth is still heard on-air this summer in The Bookshelf and the Inland Northwest History Moment.

SPR mainstay Nancy Roth has retired from her work as an underwriting representative.

Robb Anthony, Ann Torigoe-Hawkins, and Kathy Sackett continue to assist SPR business supporters.
