PUMP FOUNDATION PREPARATION FOR INSTALLATION

1,Suction and discharge coordinate mark on foundation side .

2,From the bench mark elevation transfer to foundation

3, Chip the foundation according to require elevation and grouting gap.

4,check the anchor bolt or anchor bolt pocket center to Suction and discharge coordinate as per equipment it self and foundation dimension are same

7,set the pad plate according to equipment G A drawing prior to install padding should be cured and all above 6 points verified and inspected by equipment QC.

prior to anchor bolt grouting pump suction discharge nozzle center line &Elevation should be match on piping coordinates and elevation .

1,prior to anchor bolt grouting pocket to be dust & oil free and surface should be dry .

2, prior to anchor bolt grouting anchor bolt projection to be maintained.

When installing machinery and equipment, the leveling or placing of the machine on a true horizontal plane is essential to its satisfactory operation.

If the pump is not leveled the pump may go this condition, hence Pump base grouted in this position it might be created problem during alignment stage see the fig 1 of 2.

In this position during alignment stage we can’t add equal shims on 4 legs .

when we can’t add equal shims, there is a possibility of soft foot & motor can going to higher then pump with out adding any shims see the fig 1 of 2 .

PUMP MASTER LEVELING

pump and motor mounting plates are leveled

with respect to the reference plate. Individual soleplate elevations

are to be set to a tolerance of 0.06 millimeters

(0.0025 inches) with respect to the reference.

Base plate level is achieved byadjusting the jack screws andthen snug tightening (10% ofanchor bolts torque value) onanchor bolt nut hold the Baseplate in place.

The factory Alignment mayn’t done properly .

During the transportation due to mishandled the pump, factory Alignment can miss align so the field we can’t achieve the that alignment reading.

Pump fabrication or machining error mayn’t corrected on the factory.

The Field master leveling mayn’t done properly on the equipment .

The above summarized recessions the pump can miss aligned it should be corrected, on the initial alignment stage or (before pump base grouting) if any factory error we have to communicate with vendor, They shall advised .

The pump always fixed machine, motor is adjustable here, in this case motor is higher then pump with out adding any shims this kind of issue we have to communicate to vendor before pump base grouting .

The goal of this section is to present a proven method of pump base plateinstallation using epoxy grout with zero voids. While this method isnot the only way to achieve a 100 percent void-free grout job, it has beendesigned to shorten pump installation and alignment time by employing a“one pour” grout procedure.

When type of grout is not specified by the equipment Manufacturer epoxygrout shall be used for any of the following situations:a) Equipment with driver horsepower 500 (373 kW) or greater.b) Equipment with speeds greater than 3600 RPM.c) Equipment that has a combined weight (machine, driver, and base plate) ofgreater than 2,270 kg (5,000 lbs).d) All reciprocating machinery with driver horsepower greater than 50(37 kW).

ANCHOR BOLT TORQUE

After the grouting & curing prior to anchor bolts torquing ,leveling screw must be remove then have to follow vendor recommendation torque values .

PUMP PRELIMINARY ALIGNMENT

1, Preliminary alignment TOL + or – 0.05 mm or 0.002 in.

2, Coupling spacer distance TOL + or – 0.25 mm

3, Soft foot TOL + or – 0.03 mm t0 0.05mm.

Pipe flange bolt holes lined up with machinery nozzle bolt holes within 1.5 millimeters (1/16 inch) maximum offset from bolt hole center .

The machine and piping flange faces parallel to less than 10 micrometers per centimeter (0.001 inch per inch) of pipe flange outer diameter up to a maximum of 750 micrometers (0.030 inches) If piping flange outer diameters are smaller than 25 centimeters (10 inches), are the flanges parallel to 250 micrometers (0.010 inch) or less.

Flange face separation within the gasket spacing plus or minus 1.5 millimeters(1/16 inch).

Prior to final alignment suction & discharge pipe should hydro tested andpipe permanent support should be installed.

Flange parallelism should done with in Tol per 10 mm + / - 0.025 mm or less, up to 10”, more than 10” + or - 0.7 mm is allowed.

The movable machine shall have a minimum of 3millimeters (0.125 inch) of 300 series stainless steel shimsunder each support foot. The maximum shim stack heightshall not exceed 12 millimeters (0.5 inch). Only one 3-millimeter (0.125-inch) or thicker shim per mounting foot is allowed.

• Soft foot TOL + or – 0.03 mm t0 0.05mm.
