Pastor Julius Oghogho from Philadelphia

hosted a pastors’ conference on March 7th. Despite travel dangers, 34 pastors attended.

One came from 9 hours away! The sessions lasted throughout the day with highlights on

pastoral responsibility, spiritual leadership,

Bible knowledge, prayer, fasting, and church growth. It was held at the local church

where Pastor Francois, our Mariani Adminis-trator is the Associate Pastor; and Renaud,

our National Administrator, teaches Sunday school and plays guitar. It was a great meet-

ing with a full lunch provided. Most pastors

in Haiti are desperate for teaching. Everyone is looking forward to Pastor Julius’ return.

Gospel! Pastor Oghogho also spoke at a

youth program on Friday, March 6th at Hope Alive. These meetings gather

many local kids. The activities range from music, teaching, prayer, videos,

contests, games. Pastor Oghogho loves

ministering to youth: “planting seeds for Haiti’s future”. The teaching was

well received, and many seeds were sown. These kids are sweet and loving.

When asked what prayer they would like, the usual response is “father to

get a job”, “mother not sick anymore.”

Pastor Frank and Leslee attended the 8th year

sewing graduation ceremony March 7th. The event celebrates Penny Miller’s vision to pro-

vide sewing lessons and machines to local gals and get them started in their own businesses.

The ladies made their own fashions (only a

small sampling pictured), looking quite chic! We salute Penny for this wonderful ministry. It

has helped many women. The event, with lunch, was held atop on Hope Alive’s Pavilion.

Several friends and relatives attended.
