Introduction

1. HBL Home Based Learning (HBL) takes the form of both online and offline learning.

(i) You will do the offline work (e.g. worksheets, workbooks) assigned by your teacher during the lessons that are not highlighted.

(ii) Highlighted lessons are online lessons, please login to your SLS. https://vle.learning.moe.edu.sg/login

Please refer to the weekly subject overview that are uploaded by your subject teachers in SLS Announcement for your assignments. A summary is also available in the school website https://cantonmentpri.moe.edu.sg/home-based-learning. Refer to your level.

Your well-being is important. Please remember to take your breaks during recess and lunch. Stay at home, stay healthy, and stay safe.

2. Loaning of Devices

Students who have no access to a device (iPad or laptop) or Internet may loan from the school. You will need to be responsible for the device as you will be liable for any loss/damage. Please approach your form/ co-form teachers.

SLS Login Matters

3. User ID Your username is usually the first 5 characters of your full name and last 4 digits of birth cert or NRIC/FIN/BC together with the alphabet. For e.g.

TAN AH HUAT + T1234567S = TANAH4567S *Note: Usernames will not contain spaces or special characters such as apostrophes (') and hyphens (-).

4. SLS Password

If you have forgotten your password, you can perform a self-help password reset, either by verifying your identity via the password reset link or answering the security questions in SLS. Alternatively, you can call or email the school for assistance. 5. Other Issues If your account has been locked, you may contact Cantonment Primary School or the SLS helpdesk. Your account will be locked after 6 consecutive attempts to log in with an incorrect password.

E-Zhishi Login Matters 6. User ID

7. E-Zhishi Password

If you have forgotten your password, you can perform a self-help password reset, either through email or answering the security questions on E-Zhishi.

Reset Password via Email:

o On the login page, click Forgot Password. o Enter your username. Select Reset via Email. o An email with a verification code will be sent to your email address. o On the Reset Password page, enter a new password and verification code. o You will need to enter the new password twice to confirm that you have entered it

correctly. Click Submit. o If your password has been successfully reset, you will be brought to the login page.

Reset Password by Answering Security Questions:

o On the login page, click Forgot Password. o Enter your username. Select Reset Password by Answering Security Questions. o You must answer all questions correctly before you can reset your password. o You will need to enter the new password twice to confirm that you have entered it

correctly. Click Submit. o If your password has been successfully reset, you will be brought to the login page. o When you use the Forgot Password feature to reset your password, an email with a

verification code will be sent to your email address. If you cannot find the email in your inbox, it may be in the spam folder.

8. Online Assignments Subject teachers will facilitate lessons following the online slots allocated to your class. Your teachers will provide feedback & monitor your learning. You will be able to see the online lessons in SLS on the day of HBL (under the Assigned segment). You are encouraged to complete the online lessons on the day the lesson is assigned to you. The online lessons will be open for 3 days. Conduct yourselves well when you are online just like you would behave yourself when interacting with you friends face-to-face. Observe the HBL rules below. After completing the online lessons, log out of your computers.

9. Offline Assignments Your home-based learning includes offline work. Your subject teachers will inform you via SLS which piece of work to submit to them. Take a picture of your work and submit your work through email or WhatsApp to your teacher. Please get your parent’s permission before using the handphone to take pictures to email or to WhatsApp your teachers. You are NOT allowed to create your own WhatsApp or email account. The schedule for Primary 1 to 6 submission is below.

*Important Tip: Capture your images of your work on a flat surface. Ensure there is no shadow. When submitting your work to your teachers, name your pictures with your name, class and subject e.g. Angeline Chin_1 Respect_Maths.

You will also use WhatsApp during HBL period to submit work from 7.30am to 5.30pm on weekdays excluding public holidays. To contact the teachers, please continue to email them.

10. Using the Mathematics Equation Editor in the SLS The mathematics equation editor only works for free response equations. Therefore, the symbol for the equation editor will not appear if you are answering other forms of questions such as fill-in-the-blank. 11. Chinese and Tamil Language Input in Windows 10 PC

a) Installing the Chinese and Tamil Language Pack Most of the Chinese and Tamil Language assignments in the SLS will require the input of Chinese characters. You may refer to the guide https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4496404/windows-10-manage-the-input-and-display-language on how you can enable Chinese and Tamil Language input in your Windows 10 PC.

b) Switching Language Input In Windows 10

Once you have successfully installed the Chinese or Tamil Language Pack into your Windows 10 PC. You can input Chinese and Tamil Language characters by selecting the correct language input. You may refer to the guide below on how you can change the input keyboard through a simple Windows 10 short-cut https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10762/windows-use-on-screen-keyboard.

12. Chinese and Tamil Language Input in IOS Switching Language Input In IOS You can change the settings of the built-in keyboard on your device or add languages. This also changes the dictionary used for auto-correction, the number of letters on the keyboard, and the arrangement of the keys. 13. Live Lessons Conducted through Video Conferencing Some online lessons may be conducted using Google Meet or Zoom. Please attend the online lessons punctually and do not share the meeting link given by your teachers to anyone. Use your real name when logging into the video conferencing platforms.
