She deserves all gloryShe deserves all gloryShe deserves all gloryShe deserves all gloryShe deserves all gloryShe is the one who gave her life completely for the glory of God. She

surrendered her life “ as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God” (Rom12: 1).

That is Mary, the mother of Jesus, and she is my mother. I am so proud that God

gave me the grace to be a child of Mary and to write about her in this magazine ,

Holy Queen.

What is the importance of Mary’s life? Why should we glorify Mary when so

many are against her? Because she is the most precious and valuable treasure

before the Holy Trinity! She is the one who gave her life to give birth to the son of God .

When Mary heard the word from the angel Gabriel, she said “ Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be

with me according to your word ” ( Luke 1 : 38 ). When she heard the Word, she received it in her heart . To

receive something means to accept it. She allowed the seed - that is the word - to be sown in her heart. Once

a seed is sown in the ground it should grow. It should become a plant or a tree. Then it will start to bear fruit. God

sends this Word for children to hear and receive it. They should allow the word to grow and bear fruits.

Unfortunately this does not happen in the lives of many. People hear the Word but do not allow the Word

become flesh.

The uniqueness of Mary’s life is that she allowed the Word become flesh, first in her heart and then in her

womb. It is very important. She co-operated with God by giving her

life. She emptied herself for the incarnation of the word. She never

allowed the things of this world to influence her. She rejected the

pleasures of life and accepted suffering and pain for the incarnation

of the Word. She knew that the one in her womb was the son of God.

So she realized her responsibility of protecting the child in her womb.

She never committed a sin either in her thoughts or in her words, but

by living in holiness she allowed the child in her womb to become

strong, holy and powerful.

When Mary heard the word she received it. To receive means to

believe and to believe means to accept it in one’s heart and life.

So Mary first believed the Word then she obeyed the word

and the word became flesh! If you want the word become

flesh in your heart you should believe and

obey the word. Disobedience brings de-

struction.

When you disobey the Word you are

destroy the Word and through that you

destroy the kingdom of God. We have

many preachers and hearers. But we have

no OBEDIENT children. So many hear the

Word, but do not obey. Mary listened, be-

lieved and obeyed the Word. So the Word

became flesh in her womb. That is Jesus

Christ!

To obey the Word is not easy. It is very diffi-

cult.

Because the powers of disobedience, which in-

fluenced Eve , are still active in everyone’s life. To

obey the word one should experience the love of

Jesus. One should “taste and see that the Lord is

good.” (Psalm 34:8) When you love Jesus you will

obey the Word. Jesus says “ Those who love me

will keep my word ,and my Father will love them,

and we will come to them, and make our home

with them “ ( Jn 14:23 )

My love of Jesus becomes meaningful only

when I obey the Word. If I do not obey the Word I

do not love Jesus. However the Holy Spirit helps

me obey the Word. God says “I will put my spirit

within you and make you follow my statutes and

be careful to observe my ordinances.” (Ezek 36:27).

So God promises that he will give us his Holy Spirit

so that we can obey the word.

When angel Gabriel said to Mary : “you will

conceive in your womb and bear a son” ( Luke 1:31).

She asked the angel “How can this be, since I am a

virgin?” ( Luke 1 : 34 ) And the angel answered “The

Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the

Most High will overshadow you” (Luke 1: 35). With out

the power of the Holy Spirit the word cannot become

flesh. The Holy Spirit is Holy. He cannot work with an un

holy man. Mary is holy. So the Holy Spirit descended uponMary and lived in her. It is the Holy Spirit who helps the

word become flesh and enable us to keep the word.

Mary was obedient to God she loved the word,

believed and obeyed it .The Holy Spirit came upon Mary

and filled her. The word became flesh in her womb.

Today Mother Mary is asking her children to do only

one thing that is to obey the word. “Do whatever he tells

you” ( Jn 2 :5) . Jesus also is asking his followers to obeythe Word. It was because of Mary’s obedience and faith-

fulness to the word that Jesus Christ came into this world

as perfect as his father in heavenis.

We should allow the word to become flesh in our

life. If the incarnated word is in your heart, Jesus will be

there. He can do mighty things through you if you allow

Jesus to dwell in your heart through the incarnated word;

the Holy Spirit will be there; the Father will be there. That is the heaven will be there in your heart. Your body

will become the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6 :19 ).

Jesus will use you in a mighty way to spread the king-

dom of God. Amen, Halleluiah

Spirit in Jesus ministries proudly presents the

magazine, Holy Queen, to glorify Jesus, through Mary.

She is the Queen of Heaven, who destroyed the power of

the ancient serpent through her Holiness. She is the

mother of Jesus and also our mother. She will protect us

from the evil powers as she protected Jesus. May God

T he name 'Spirit in Jesus' is neither handwork of man

nor of human wisdom. It is given to us by God, the Most high. It

is not an organization or a group of any kind. 'Spirit in Jesus' is the

Spirit of God, who descended upon Jesus at the time of his baptism.

The 'Spirit of God' or the 'Holy Spirit' guided Jesus and gave him the

power to perform miracles. He gave Jesus strength to suffer and die

on the cross. After his death on the cross, the Spirit of Jesus with the

help of the Holy Spirit descended into hell and preached the gospel

to the spirits imprisoned

there.(1Peter 3:19; Catechism of

the Catholic Church (C.C.C) Article

5-635).

Jesus resurrected from the

dead with the help of Holy Spirit

and ascended into heaven. The

Spirit of God in Jesus is 'Spirit in

Jesus'. After his resurrection Jesus

appeared to his disciples for forty

days and taught them about the

kingdom of God (Acts 1:3). On the

fortieth day he ascended into

heaven and was seated at the right

hand of the Father. He will come

again to judge the world.

In the year 1988, God anointed

his chosen servant Tom Zachariah

by giving him the Spirit in Jesus,

that is, the Holy Spirit. He dedi-

cated his life to the spread the

kingdom of God in the last twenty

years. In 1989, Brother Tom started preach-

ing the Word. In the last nineteen years God

used him in a mighty way for spreading the

KinGdom of god. Now the 'Spirit in Jesus' min-

istry has become a leading spiritual move-

ment in Kerala. Besides Catholics of Latin,

Syro-malabar and Syro-malankara rites,

Jacobites, Marthomites and Protestants of

various denominations who believe in

Mother Mary work together in this ministry.

The name 'Spirit in Jesus' is not a human

invention, but given by the Holy Spirit him-

self. In 1989, the Lord revealed to Br Tom the

name 'Spirit in Jesus'. In several spiritual vi-

sions the name 'Spirit in Jesus' was seen writ-

ten in luminated letters. On certain occasions

a voice was heard calling out the name 'Spirit

in Jesus'. The Lord inspired him to accept the

name, write it on a piece of paper and offer it

on the alter during a holy mass.

Rev. Fr Peter Mathirappally, a Latin diocesan parish priest,

who was the first spiritual adviser, offered the name in the

holy mass and prayed for the plan of God to be revealed. In

1990, the prayer group came to be known as 'Spirit in Jesus'.

In the year 1997, the Lord revealed the power and authority

in the name: 'Spirit in Jesus'. During the time of casting out of

unclean spirits, when the leader uttered the name: 'Spirit in

Jesus', the evil spirits cried out in a loud voice and begged not

to say that name. The evil spirits felt the falling of fire upon

them. Similar experiences have occurred several times.

In 1990, this ministry started retreats in Malayalam. In 2001,

telecasting of programs in Malayalam commenced. Presently

they are done through three channels of which the nationalchannel, Surya T.V telecasts the program in the name 'Miracles

in Rosary' every Monday at 6.30 am. Now we are planning to

start a program in English as well.

istry. In 2004, Br Tom visited Doha, in Qatar,

for a Malayalam retreat. While the program

was in progress, another servant of God, Br

Dominic from Goa, met Br Tom by the in-

spiration of the Holy Spirit and invited himto preach the Word in his prayer group. Br

Tom told him that he could preach the

Word only in Malayalam since he was not

well conversant in English. So a lady trans-

lator was arranged to help Br Tom.

He started the session by praise and

worship in English. However, a miracle hap-pened there. After a while he slid into

chaste English and preached for an hour.

For three days, God gave him the grace to

preach in English. This gave him courage

and confidence to conduct an English re-

treat in Mumbai. Br Babu a servant of God,

arranged the retreat in Mumbai in 2004. There were thirty five participants in the

first retreat. Numerous people experi-

enced the love of Jesus and the power of

the Holy Spirit through the services. The

'one day programs' are known as 'Miracles

in Rosary'. The retreats of this ministry are

known as 'Born Again in Spirit' and 'Holi-ness Retreat'. People experience the

power of the Word of God and many have

received mighty anointing. Miraculous

healings have also happened in the lives

of many people.

THE MISSION:

The prime aim of this ministry is to transform the lives of

people. A Christian is a citizen of heaven. (Philippians 3:20). The

culture of the kingdom of heaven is holiness. "The one who called

you is holy, so be holy yourselves in all your conduct", for it is

written "You shall be holy for I am holy" (1 Peter 1:15-16). If the

Father in heaven is holy all His children should be holy. Again the

Word declares that "You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a

holy nation, God's own people". (1 Peter 2:4). A Christian is a mem-

ber in the kingdom of God, a citizen of heaven, a royal priesthood

and a holy nation. Millions of people are living in sin. They do not

know what holiness is.

'Spirit in Jesus' ministry gives much emphasis in spreading

holiness. Without holiness Holy Spirit cannot do anything in our

lives. Help the Holy Spirit to work as he did in the beginning of

the church. The 'Spirit in Jesus' will do mighty things in these and

coming days. Because Jesus has said, " Very truly I tell you the one

who believes in me will also do the works that I do, and in fact will

do greater works than these because I am going to the Father"(Jn

17:12).

worship Him." Isa 59:1-2.

It is not too late to return to the Holy Father. From

now onwards we will be doing things that make our

Father happy. Your God is so strong to protect you,

even if your problem is similar to Daniel's lion's pit.

Do you think that is no way out of these problems?

Are you reckoning the omnious last days and hours of

life? Listen, God is powerful enough to save you. Are

you in the lion's pit of incurable illness, in an ever

widening debt trap, in an unresolved family problem,

or unemployment, humiliation in society and family,

or in a dreadful alienation? Then raise your eyes to-

wards heaven, without hesitation and in boldness like

Daniel. Confess your sins. "The Lord says now let us

settle the matter. You are stained red with sin but I

will wash you as clean as snow. All though your sins

are deep red, you will be as white as wool. If you will

only obey me, you will eat the good things that land

produces." Isa 1:18-19. Accept this loving call of re-

pentance and sincerely reject sin and turn your hearts

towards God. When God found Daniel sinless, He sent

His angels to block the mouths of lions and saved

Daniel.

This God is still living and hence we can depend on

Him. Whatever be the tempting force of sin, if you de-

pend on Him, those forces which try to attack you will

become powerless. Whatever be your decayed con-

dition, a miracle will happen in your life. Your fears will

disappear; your heart will be filled with peace. You

will be protected, even in the midst of your enemies,

and remain unhurt in your life. Depend on Him, like

Daniel, serve Him in holiness and pray to make you

holy, then many people will look at you, seeing your

life will exclaim: God of Daniel, you are the most high!

"Do you pass judgment on others? You have no excuse at

all, whoever you are. For when you judge others and then do

the same things which they do, you condemn yourself" Rom

2:1-2. We have no right to judge others. We are judging others

in accordance with the nature of our heart. Because of our

selfishness, resulted from sin, we make wrong judgments. We

fail to find out our own mistakes but find mistakes in others.

"Do not judge others so that God will not judge you for Godwill judge you, in the same way, as you judge others and He

will apply to you the same rules you apply to others. Why then

do you look at the speck in your brother's eye and pay no

attention to the log, in your own eye. How dare you say to your

brother, please let me take that speck out of your eye when

you have a log in your own eye?" Mt 7:1-4. When things hap-

pen according to our interests and likings we feel peace in

our minds. If anything happens against our wish, we get dis-

turbed and feel sad. It is because of our likes and dislikes, this

difference in feelings appear. When we centre all our actions

around God, we get freedom from these feelings because we

look at only on God and not on our circumstances. Thus, if

anything happens against our wish, it will not affect our life

because we leave everything to God.

who speaks against God for God knows our feelings and

thoughts and hears every word. Since the Lord's spirit

fills this entire world and holds everything in it together,

she knows every word that people say. No one who

speaks wickedly will escape notice; sooner or later, he

will receive just punishment." Wis 1:6-8.

Our experience say that when we judge a person on

his thoughts, deeds, behavior or any other thing, within

minutes we also start doing the same thing, that we foundfault with in others. Normally, we do not notice that such

things are happening in our life also; but it is a fact. "As

the scriptures say: there is no one who is righteous, no

one who is wise or who worships God. All have turned

away from God, they have all gone wrong; no one does

what is right, not even one". Rom 3:10-12. "Do not put

me, your servant, on trial; no one is innocent in your sight."

Ps 143:2.

A few years back, when I was participating in a re-

treat, I had a chance to realize this fact. It was a vacation

time and there were many participants in that retreat.

The rush was such that most people stood in queue, even

for primary needs. One day early morning I stood in queue

before the toilet. There was separate place for bathing

but some people bathed in the toilet, which irritated all

of us who were in the queue. People started grumbling

and I also joined them, saying that they should have takenbath, in the proper place only. The next day I went to the

toilet, unwittingly, I took bath there. I realized that I com-

mitted the same thing which I found fault with in others.

Then I heard a mild voice of my Lord: 'Don't judge others;

by doing so, you condemn yourself.' The man who was

raised to the highest heaven, St. Paul, says: "We know

that the law is spiritual, but I am a mortal man, sold

as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do for I

don't do what I would like to do but instead I do

what I hate. Since what I do is what I don't want to

do, this shows that I agree that the law is right so I

am not really the one who does this thing, rather itis the sin that lives in me. I know that good does

not live in me that is in my human nature. For even

though the desire to do good is in me I am not able

to do it. I don't do the good that I want to do. If I do

what I don't want to do, this means that I am no

longer the one who does it. Instead it is the sin that

lives in me. So I find that this law is at work: when I

want to do what is good, what is evil is the only

choice I have." Rom 7:14-21.

"If we live, it is for the Lord that we live and if we

die, it is for the Lord that we die. So whether we

live or die, we belong to the Lord, for Christ died

and rose to life in order to be the Lord of the living

and of the dead ..why do you pass judgment on

your brother? All of us will stand before God to be

judged by Him." Rom 14:8-10

"God wants us to be holy, therefore God allowsus to face the inabilities and weaknesses of others

so that we may patiently suffer them and thereby

get us purified to the divine standard. Everyone

among us should learn to carry burdens that the

Lord allows us from time to time. Everybody has to

carry burdens and no one is an exception. Help to

carry one another's burdens and in this way, you

will obey the law of Christ. If someone thinks he is

somebody when really he is nobody, he is only

deceiving himself." Gal 6:1-2. Nobody is big enough

for himself. There is no one who has enough knowl-

edge also. Therefore, we mutually help ourselves

by consoling, teaching and guiding, thus doing

good to everyone.

A thing which may appear good to man may not

be so in the eyes of God. Wisdom is a spirit that is

friendly to people but she will not forgive anyone

"And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a ques-

tion to test him. " Teacher, which commandment

in the Law is the greatest? He said to him, "You

shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,

and with all your soul,

and with all your mind.

This is the greatest and

the first command-

ment. And the second

is like this: you shall

love your neighbour as yourself. On these

two commandments hang all the laws

and the prophets". Mt.22: 35-40

Through the above scriptures, our

Lord Jesus teaches us that there is no

commandment above the command-

ment to love. If sin is disobedience of the

commandment and to love is the great-

est commandment, then lack of love to-

wards God and neighbors is the most

serious sin. In the Old Testament, God

gave us his commandments in detail, but

Jesus consolidated these into two com-

mandments and gave them to us. It is to

love God and to love others.

My eyes always fill with tears when-

ever I reflect on God's love. There is a rea-

son for it. Had his love were not there inme, I wouldn't have been alive now. I

thank God every morning for his love

that gave me a new day. I also thank and

praise him before going to bed for his

love which kept me aloof from the

clutches of this sinful world. Eventhough

there is no good in us, our God, without a blink, looks at us

intently and keeps on protecting us. If He blinks for a mo-

ment, do we not fall instantly?

Love of this world is conditional. If we love others, they

will also love us. However, God's love is unconditional. He

clearly tells us that He will never desert us even if every-

body in this world rejects us. "Because you are precious in

my sight and honored and I love you". (Ish 43:4).

"For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed

but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my

covenant of peace shall not be removed" (Ish 54:10), says

the Lord, who has compassion on you. "Can a woman forgether nursing child or show no compassion for the child of her

womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. See

I have inscribed you in the palms of my hands. Your walls

are continually before me". (Ish 49:15-16).

To save us sinners, our Father's love for us allowed His

only son Jesus to be tortured and cruelly nailed to a cross

and die for us. Thus He revealed His love towards us. "But

God proves His love for us in that while we still were sin-

ners, Christ died for us". (Rom 5:8).

In the parables of the 'lost sheep' and the 'lost coin' and

the 'prodigal son'(Lk.15), Jesus is asking us to see the depth

of our heavenly Father's love for us. His love abounds in a

shepherd leaving ninety nine of his sheepfold and searches

for a lost sheep, a woman searching for a lost coin out of ten

she had and a father who recognizes his prodigal son from

afar and rushing to receive him with outstretched hands.

His love has no bounds and He loves us sinners without

conditions.

The love that made this father to exchange the life of his

only son for the people who disobeyed his prophets and

angels, sinned and became slaves of Satan. "For God so loved

the world that he gave his only son so that everyone who

believes in him may not perish but may have eternal

life". Jn 3:16.

While praying at Gethsemane, Jesus

was aware of the sufferings and tortures

that awaited him because of our sins. Heprayed intensely and sweat blood be-

cause of us. "In his anguish he prayed

more earnestly and sweat became like

great drops of blood falling down on the

ground". Lk 22:44. Did he not suffer se-

vere scourging, spitting, hitting and

mocking just for our sins? Do we then

not have to hate sin and live in holiness?

He accepted punishment on his body sothat we might not be punished. He car-

ried the cross of our sins on his shoulder.

He was naked so that we may be clothed,

and he died on the cross in order to give

us eternal life. To unite us with him he

than that of you". Another one says: "Whenever I re-

member the love of God I could hate sin. I used to

judge my brothers and loved ones and resorted to

liquor and went away from God. However, Jesus was

following me with his love, and expecting me to turn

towards him. This realization made me allow him to

take over me". How much do we have to love our

God who loves us more than anything else. We shall

love God by turning away from sin and love our neigh-

bors deeply with our heart. "Those who say I love God

and hate their brothers

or sisters whom they

have seen, cannot love

God whoms they have

not seen".(1Jn 4:20).

Jesus is our only model to

love and serve others.

"Just as the Son of Man

came not to be served

but to serve and to give

his life a ransom for

allowed us to share

his body and blood

"Because there is

one bread, we who

are many are one

body as we all par-

take of the one

bread "1 Cor 10:17.

"In this love, not

that we loved God

but that he loved us

and sent his son to be the

atoning sacrifice for our sins".1

Jn 4:10. A woman once told

When a Hindu mother felt

bad about her son who turned

to Jesus, the son told his

mother, "I love you mother but

my love for Lord Jesus is more

many.(Mt 20: 28).

In the parable of the good Sa-

maritan, Jesus teaches us who our

neighbor is. All those who need our

help and seek our love in this world

are our neighbors. The good Sa-

maritan who came to help the in-

jured man observed the command-

ment of God that "Love your neigh-

bor as you love yourself". The Priest

and the Levi who walked before

this good Samaritan failed in their

duty to their neighbor.

Satan rejoices when he sees our unforgiving atti-

tude, our failure to love others and failure to rejoice in

the blessings they enjoy. Love is the strong weapon to

destroy the hardwork of Satan to steal all God's chil-

dren and the disciples of Jesus. If you are filled with

Love, he cannot tempt you to sin. In front of love, Sa-

tan becomes powerless.

When I attended my first retreat of 'Spirit in Jesus'

in April 2003, I was a man filled with anxiety and fear

in my heart. In this retreat, I experienced Gods' love.

Fear and anxiety left me when I was filled with God's

love. When I was in Qatar a man became violent by the

influence of an evil spirit. Then an anointed brother em-

braced him and told him that God loved him very much.

When the word of God's love came out from that broth-

ers' mouth, the evil spirit left that man and he became

free and fell down on the ground. He became a new man

since them.

With love we can destroy Satan and come closer to

When you see somebody suffering, do not

blame him for his sins; but before saying that you

look in to your own heart. In the parable of the tax

collector, God did not accept the prayer of the

Pharisee, who justified himself as holy and blamed

the tax collector as sinner. There was no love for

others in him. Let our life become a hope for those

who suffer, in pain, and in despair. Even if we are

walking on fire with our burdens and problems, it

is our duty to love our neighbor. We are not nomi-God. Do not consider love a re-

sponsibility. But love every one -

friends, loved ones, enemies,

negative situations, and those

who give pain and everyone with-

out distinction.

We have to see only good in

every one. We must love even a

sinner. As a doctor who loves his

patient and hates the sickness in

him, we have to love our brother

in sin and hate the sin in him. "But

I say to you love your enemies and

pray for those who persecute you.

So that you may be children of

your Father in heaven; for he

makes his sun rise on the evil and

on the good and sends rain on the

righteous and on the unrigh-

teous" Mt. 5: 44-45. While on the

cross, Jesus prayed for those who

tortured him and he taught us

thus: "For if you love those who

love you what reward do you

have? Don't even tax collectors do

the same?" Mt. 5:46.

ond coming for judgment, we

4:12. When the seed of lovestarts growing in us, then the

Jesus said to Peter, "I will give you the keys of

the kingdom of heaven". (Mt 16:19).What are the

keys that Jesus promised to Peter? The purposes

of the keys are to open and to lock. The keys to

open the kingdom of God are something special.

It is not like the keys of this world. The keys are the

authorities.

The meaning of the word is that the authority to

open the kingdom of heaven is given to Peter. The

mysteries in the kingdom of heaven are hidden in

the Word of God. To understand the meaning of the

Word we need wisdom. Once, prophet Daniel had

a vision about the end. He asked the angel for the

revelation of the vision. But the angel said "Go your

way Daniel, for the words are to remain secret and

sealed until the time of the end. Many shall be pu-

rified, cleansed and refined, but those who are wise

shall understand". (Daniel 12:9). To understand the

Word which was sealed and kept secret, one should

be purified from sins by the Word, cleansed by the

blood of Jesus and refined by the Holy Spirit. Holy

Spirit reveals the secret only to those who live in holi-

ness. Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit will teach

everything. (Jn 14:26). The Holy Spirit who is holy can-

not dwell in a sinful heart.

All those who are baptized and believe in the

name of Jesus have the Holy Spirit with them. But

because of their sins the Holy Spirit is imprisoned in

their lives. One should be filled and led by the Holy

Spirit. "Those who are led by the Holy Spirit are the

children of God". (Rom 8:14).

So to understand the meaning of the Word we need

wisdom. This wisdom we get from the Holy Spirit when

we are sanctified.

should be used to open the doors of heaven. There are certain

strong deeds in the Bible to open the doors of heaven. In my

encounter with the Lord in the last twenty years, I have learned

certain secret words which the Holy Spirit has revealed to me

in my prayer. I am sharing then with the readers, so that it will

help you to obtain blessings from heaven. The most powerful secret words that I have experienced

are Halleluiah and Hail Mary. First of all I would like to share

with you about Hail Mary.

HAIL MARY - a prayer of praise. :

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with you. Blessed are you

among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Twenty years ago Jesus came into my life. He became ev-

erything to me. I longed to be with him. Always I felt a thirst to

pray, to praise the Lord and to sing heavenly hymns. From

morning to night I enjoyed the presence of the Lord in me. I

was not at all interested in the pleasures of this world and stayed

away from TV programs and newspapers. My thirst was only

for the love and infilling of the Holy Spirit. So I spent most of

my time with the Lord.

One day, after so many hours of prayer, I felt dryness in my

heart. At night I said, "Lord I prayed all this day, but I couldn't

feel happiness in my heart. My heart is like an empty jar". Sud-denly I had a vision of Mother Mary. I heard someone saying to

me to say Hail Mary three times. Then I said Hail Mary three

times. Before finishing the prayer I saw the gates of heaven

opened and the power of the Holy Spirit descend upon me

like a flowing of a river. I was filled with the power. I said, "Lord

it is amazing." I couldn't believe it. The whole day I prayed and

I didn't get this power. But now by saying Hail Mary three times,

the power of the Holy Spirit is in me. It happened many a time

in my life. The Holy Spirit taught me a truth that Mother Mary is

his beloved and through her he can come into my life fast.

Since then I begin my prayer and preaching with three Hail

Mary.

Whenever I say the holy rosary I see the holiness of God

descend from heaven and sanctify me. The holiness of God is

seen in the form of pure white milk and itcleanses my body and heart. Even new I ex-

perience it. Whenever I want the power of

the Holy Spirit I say the Hail Mary.

I also see heaven opened and the power

descends upon the people when I say Hail

Mary during my preaching in the retreats.

The prayer Hail Mary has the power to open

the gates of heaven, it is so masuellous!

HOLY MARY - a prayer of appeal :

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sin-

ners now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

After praising Mary, we ask her to inter-

cede for us before God, and we proclaim that

Mary is the Mother of God. We also confess

that we are sinners and not worthy enough to call

upon the name of the Lord. So it is a prayer of ap-

peal. Through Mary, in the name of Jesus, all our

prayers will be answered.

GIVEN FROM HEAVEN :

Do you know that the prayer Hail Mary is given

from heaven? This prayer has two parts. The first is

the greeting of the messenger, angel Gabriel, and

the second is the greeting by the Holy Spirit.

When angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, he

greeted her saying "Greetings, favored one. The

Lord is with you". (Lk 1:28). Angel Gabriel on behalf

of the almighty God greets Mary. The word "greet-

ings'' is translated as "Hail Mary" and "favored one''

is translated as "full of grace".

In the second part, the Holy Spirit himself praises

Mary through Elizabeth. When Mary greeted Elizabeth

during her visit, the power of the Holy Spirit came

upon Elizabeth and she was in-filled. It was the Holy

Spirit himself exclaimed "blessed are you among

women and blessed is the fruit of your womb".(Luke

1:42).

When the Holy Spirit and the angel of the Lord praise

Mary, then why can't we, the children of God, praise

may how is the mother of God. Inspired by the Holy

Spirit, Mary said, "From now on all generations will

call me blessed". (Lk 1:48). So it is our duty to praise

and glorify Mary. When we say the Holy Rosary, we arepraising and glorifying Mother Mary.

St. Thomasthe ApostleSt. Thomas was a Jew, called to be one

of the twelve apostles. He was a dedicated

but impetuous follower of Christ. When

Jesus said He was going to Judea to pay a

visit to His friend Lazarus who had fallen

ill, Thomas encouraged the other Apostles

to accompany Him in the trip which they

feared involved certain danger and pos-

sible death because of the mounting hos-

tility of the authorities. In the Last Supper,

when Jesus told His Apostles that He was going to prepare a place

for them where they would also come, Thomas pleaded ignorance;

however he obtained the credible assurance that Christ is the Way,

the Truth, and the Life. But St. Thomas is best known for his role in

authenticating the Resurrection of his Master. Thomas' hesitataion

to believe the testimony of his fellow Apostles merited him the

title of "doubting Thomas." Later, on Christ's second appearance,

Thomas was gently rebuked for his skepticism and gave the proof

he had asked for - "see the mark of the nails in his hands and put

my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand into his side". At

this, Thomas was convinced of the Resurrection and remorsefully

exclaimed: "My Lord and My God," thus making a public Proclama-

tion of faith in the divinity of Jesus. St. Thomas was also present in

yet another appearance of Jesus after Resurrection - at Lake

Tiberias when the miraculous catch of fish occurred. This is all

what is mentioned about St. Thomas in the New Testament. Tradi-

tion says that at the dispersal of the Apostles after the Pentecost

he was sent to evangelize the Parthians, Medes, and Persians; he

ultimately reached India. St Thomas arrived in 52AD in South In-

dia, on the Malabar Coast, now called Kerala. As a result, Christian-

ity reached India long before it was introduced to many parts of

Europe. He established seven churches on the Malabar Coast, be-

fore going to Mylapore, Madras (now called Chennai). St Thomasdied in 72AD after he was pierced by a lance while praying on a

hillock (now known as the St .Thomas Mount) 14km southwest of

Chennai. His body was taken to Mylapore and buried in the chapel

he had built with his own hands. This church has been rebuilt time

and again to the present Gothic structure called St Thomas Cathe-

dral Basilica. Only three churches in the world have been built

over the tombs of Apostles of Jesus Christ. One is the

Basilica of Saint Peter, which covers the tomb of St Pe-

ter in Rome. The second is the Cathedral of Santiagode Compostela, which was built over the tomb of

St James in Spain, and the third is the St Thomas

Cathedral Basilica, which was erected over

the tomb of St Thomas in Mylapore. His

martyrdom is celebrated on July 3rd; he

is the patron of architects.

Many a time we hear the people say that they

are troubled in their heart by various reasons.

Troubles and worries of life have become the rule

of the day. Even so calned spiritual people have

troubles in their heart though our Lord clearly ex-

horts us not to be troubled in our heart. Once you

are in it, then only you would be able to under-stand the gravity of the situation and cast out the

effects of it in this life. Troubles and worries of life

are making people go away from God and even

lead themselves to the point of death. However

we try out to avoid the troubles and worries in our

life, it is bound to happen in our life and we should

know how to cope up with it.

Quite many examples we hear in the old and

the new testaments about the troubles and wor-ries people had in their life. Faith is always allowed

to be tested and proved to be good in our life and

every situation of trouble in life is sure test to prove

our faith in the Lord and his words. The wise and

just will always turn every such situation in to oc-

casion for proving this faith and show marvelous

strength to over come it. Those who are called and do

not have God's words will definitely stumble in such situ-

ations and show their inability to trust in the Lord.

We see a wonderful example in Mathew 1:19-20.

Here we see Joseph the husband of Mary in trouble.

When he saw Mary pregnant, he was unable to under-

stand the situation and was troubled in his heart. He

knew the truth about Mary but could not understand

how to overcome it. His troubles did not lead him to sin.

Instead of sinning, he depended on God. When God

found him troubled, He brought him to his sober mind

through dreams. The Scripture says Joseph is a just man

and hence, he turned his mind to God even when he

could not understand anything about what to do in a

particular situation. A just man is the one who does the

will of God or just obey his commandments. Joseph

believed in the exact manner and he allowed the courseof events to come to him according to the will of God.

Seeing the just mind of Joseph, God makes him under-

stand about the situation and he acted on the advice he

received through his dreams.

God looked in to the heart of Joseph and found that

he did not want Mary to get hurt even when he did some

actions which he took in his troubles. How broad minded

is he that he wants to be just in his relations with others

even when he finds troubled with the situations. God

understands his mind and tries to help him to solve the

problem. Even in his troubles he is conscious of his Godand he turns to God more than any thing else in this world.

He is also concerned about the neighbors and thus puts

his trust in the God fully aware of the commandment of

God.

Joseph's actions bring peace to his situations. Even

though he got troubled, he recognized his frail nature

and did not allow his frail nature to harm neither God nor

his neighbors. Mat. 1:24. the Scripture says he got out of

sleep and obeyed just like the angel of the Lord com-manded him to do; he accepted his wife. See how deli-

cate was his situation and still he was not guided by his

situations. He fully depended on the wisdom of God and

over came his troubles and showed us a good example

as to how to behave and obey God in our troubled situa-

tions.

Now we look for another example we have in the

Bible. According to Mt. 2:3, we see that King Herod was

troubled in his situations. He was upset with the infor-mation that there happened a birth of a King of Jews and

that too in his own country. Three Kings saw stars as a

sign of the birth of King of Jews and started out to wor-

ship the King of Jews. This news made Herod worry about

himself. Because he felt envy of birth of another King

which was a threat to his rule, which he couldn't even

tolerate in his heart. Immediately he was trying to

find out the exact place of birth of the king so that

he could destroy the child who in future wouldtrouble him. His crooked mind worked and he

called all his court advisors and trying intensely to

locate the new born king. But his advisors failed to

locate him. The kings were allowed to go them-

selves and find out the child. Before they left Herod

very cheatingly asked them a favor, he said, "In-

form me about the child king when you found him

so that I could also go and worship him." So cun-

ning was his request that the kings agreed tooblige.

The kings left and found the child and wor-

shipped him. They were advised by God to go back

in a different toute. As such they did not return to

the King Herod (Mt 2:8) which made him angry. He

was furious and ordered to kill all the babies be-

low two years. See how a little trouble in the heart

create chaos in the King's palace as well as in his

Kingdom. How much pain it brought to his coun-try and its people. So many suffered just because

of one man's trouble. King Herod behaved in a dev-

ilish manner. He behaved cunningly and created

troubles in others' life. His trouble is not confined

to himself but he spread his troubles to others and

made other people suffer.

In the Gethsemane Garden also we see Jesus

was troubled by the situation. But the calm and

quietness in his heart made everything clear andhandled the situation excellently and accepted the

will of His Heavenly Father. All the sins he accepted

on our behalf and the pain which bore by him was

enormous and unthinkable. But he accepted all the

troubles just because of obedience. God showed

him before hand what was going to happen and

thing in his troubles. This is

a very important thing that Joseph

did not want any one to hurt through his

the enormous pain he was to under go made him

troubled in his heart. But he never disowned God

because of it nor got dejected but understood

clearly about it and accepted it. In fact his sober

acceptance made every one attain salvation

through the removing of sins from this world.

Because of this act of mercy, every one of us has

got a chance to attain salvation through the sacri-

fice of Jesus Christ. Jesus over came his troubles

by better understanding of the will of God in him

and the knowledge about the wisdom of God in his

situation. His obedience and surrender made the

people happy because they got salvation by this

act of Love.

When Judas Iscariot found that Jesus was sen-

tenced to death by dying on the cross, he was

troubled. He realized the consequent effect of his

own deed and the wrath which it brought. He was

troubled in his heart and decided to reject the re-

ward he got through his betrayal of his own master. He

approached the priests who gave him money and re-

turned the money. But they were helpless to console

him. They refused his request and went forward. This

broke the heart of Judas and he was disappointed. He

hanged himself and met with an ignominious death. Un-

timely realization and repentance bring no good to any-

one.

Examples are abound in the Bible to show how one

should handle troubles in the heart. A proper decision

or direction can bring goodness to the one concerned

and others. Otherwise it brings major calamity. It is in

fact a walk on the razors edge. With God everything is

possible and without God's guidance wickedness and

evil follow as a result of troubles. We can't avoid troubles

in the heart but the way you handle it makes the differ-

ence. So be cautious in your approach in troubles. Praise

the Lord. Thank you Jesus.

Ms. Sajitha, when did you come to know Jesus Christ

as Lord and God?

Sajitha: I was born and brought up in a Hindu family and

customarily got married to a Hindu. However, my

husband and his family members were believers

of Jesus Christ. My husband had come to strong faithby attending a retreat of Spirit in Jesus. I started

praying the rosary along with him. Gradually I ac-

companied him in the prayer meetings of Spirit in

Jesus at Kalpetta. Eventhough I have not attended a

residential retreat, participation in the prayer meet-

ings helped me grow in Jesus.

Can you tell me about the disease of your mother?

Sajitha: My mother was suffering from profuse bleeding

since 2001; but didn't bother to undergo a medical

checkup and treatment many years. In 2005, doc-

tors diagnosed her for cancer in the uterus. Since,

special treatment was not sought and obtained it

spread throughout the body. She was admitted to

Amala Cancer Hospital, Thrissur, Kerala. She under-

went radiation thirty five times, and chemotherapy

also. But the cancer spread to other areas of the

body, such as brain and blood. When a boil inside

the nose was operated on, it was also found to be

cancerous. Since there was nothing left to be done

to save her, the doctors sent her back home telling

that she mitht not live for another ten days.

Tell me about your hope and faith in Jesus, which

caused the miraculous healing of your mother?

HEALED OF ACUTE CANCERBy faith of a Canaanite Woman - An interview

[ Ms. Sajitha, a Hindu, shares how her mother, Sumathi washealed in a retreat of the Spirit in Jesus team atChoondal-Thrissur, Kerala, by the strong faith of this daughter. ]

Sajitha: I was in Wayanad with my husband. I came

to know of the serious condition of my

mother's ailment only when I visited her at

Thrissur. Blood clotted boils were formed all

over her body. She was lying in bed in the

shape of a prawn. Her head had become balddue to chemotherapy. When I visited her, I

had an intention to take her for the "Born

Again in Spirit" retreat of Spirit in Jesus, which

was to start on 14th April at Choondal.

When I prayed for her and for a word of

comfort at Wayanad, Jesus led me to the

strong faith of the Canaanite Woman

(Mt.15:21-28).

The condition of my mother became

worse due to loss of blood and reduction in

the platelets. She had bleeding from gum,

hair follicles and other parts of the body. See-

ing my mother in agony I said "You have to

suffer the pain only for today and not from

tomorrow onwards as you will get healing in

the retreat that starts tomorrow". I do not

know how I got such a strong faith at that

moment.

The day before I had an evil dream- my

mother and myself were with my relatives. I

saw a strange figure approaching my mother.

To save her I started running holding her hand.

Wherever we ran, it followed us. I was fright-

ened. I took the Bible and opened it, I got the

Word on the faith of the Canaanite woman.

Then I started proclaiming the Word to ev-

eryone I met. I could experience the faith of

the Canaanite woman even in my dream.

Sajitha, can you tell me what happened dur-ing the retreat?

Sajitha: My mother-in-law and my daughter also

joined us in the retreat. My mother did not

sleep that night due to severe pain and itch-

ing in the boils on the body.

I saw Br. Tom entering the retreat hall. I

could not look at his face. When he passed by

my side I experienced the power of the HolySpirit and I was about to fall on the floor. I

have had the "slain in the spirit" experience

many times during anointing prayers. When-

ever brother lifted his hands on the stage, I

got knocked out by the power and been in

the "slain in the spirit". Meanwhile I heard a

voice telling me that my mother was healed.

The faith of the Canaanite woman was rising

in me in those moments. Since, I was unable

to get up bring my mother, I told my mother-

in-law, who was standing beside me, to bring

her to the stage as I felt that she was healed.

But she didn't do it.

Suddenly, I felt a power in my body and I

got up, ran to my mother. She has not felt

healing that time. But I noticed that the boils

on her skin cured. Though she was weak to lift

a even a plate or a glass, I asked her to lift my

daughter in her hands. Miracle!-she easily

lifted the child in her hands. I rushed to the

stage with my mother. Br.Tom asked us to

come on to the stage. I spoke something

vague. However, I fell down there again and again

due to the mighty presence of power on the

stage. Br. Tom prayed for my mother. He com-

manded the disease to leave her completely and

prayed for new hairs to sprout on her bald head.

That night, when I entered her room, I could

see newly sprouted hairs on her head. She be-

came a normal person the next day. My mother,

who could not eat any food, ate six idlies for her

breakfast.

How and what did you pray at that time, Sajitha?

When Br.Tom was praying for my mother, I was

in "slain in the spirit" on the stage. Whenever I

came back to consciousness, I too prayed - Jesus,

as you raised Lazarus from the dead, show mercy

on us and heal my mother.

When I descended from the stage, some

people told me whatever I proclaimed was only

my imagination, Later I saw (in a spiritual vision)

blood flowing from the crucifix is given to my

mother and some other souls.

From next day onwards, whenever I woke up

from "slain" my mother brought me food. Thank

God. I also saw a "vision" in my "slain in the spirit"

- A cartful of souls was being pulled by a white

horse in the sky.

Have your mother completely cured?

Yes. She is perfectly alright now. In this sec-

ond retreat at Calicut, my mother is here with

me. After the first retreat, I took my mother to

the hospital for a checkup. Her blood count and

platelets were found normal. The doctors were

amazed. There was no sign of cancer in her body.

Even now, I experience heavy anointing when-

ever I share this miracle with others.

A young girl taken captivefrom the land of Israel

"You are witnesses of these things." Lk 24:48. To wit-

ness the Lord is the main responsibility assigned to us

by our Lord. Though we know that we are called to wit-

ness the Lord, very often we fail to do so due to various

reasons. Some say they have nothing to witness, while

others wait for an opportune time to witness and still

others wanting Lord's help to do so. Here is a little girl

proving her faith by witnessing the Lord, in an extraor-

dinary manner and also in a contrary atmosphere prov-

ing her real worth and showing us how to witness the

Lord.

"Now the Arameans on one of their raids had taken a

young girl captive from the land of Israel and she served

Naman's wife." 2Kings 5:2. The background of the inci-

dent is this: The king of Aram attacked Israel under thecommand of Naman and the Lord gave victory to the

king of Aram, because of Naman. During the looting,

they took a young Israeli girl captive and made her serve

Naman's wife. This young girl, when in the house of

Naman, found out that Naman was suffering from lep-

rosy. "She said to her mistress 'if only my lord were with

the prophet who is in Samaria, he would cure him of his

leprosy.' So Naman went in and told his lord just what

the girl from the land of Israel had said." 2 Kings 5:34. Inthe end we see Naman got cured of his leprosy, through

the prophet Elisha and thanked God for his healing.

Here is a young girl, who was made captive and taken

away to a foreign land detached from her family and

made to serve in an enemy land. No one among us can

imagine about such a situation, in our life and even if it

happens to us, we are sure to turn hostile to God.

But this young girl showed her firm faith in the Liv-

ing God and her situation did not stall her to wit-

ness her Lord. She acted according to her convic-

tion and we see that she was concerned about her

master found suffering from leprosy. She forgot all

her suffering and troubles. In fact, she improvised

the situation to witness her Lord. The result of her

action was astounding that Naman came to know

about the Living God and the Lord, in turn, did this

miracle by the faith of this little girl of Israel.

Just like anyone of us, she would have both-

ered about her pitiable condition of slavery, de-

tachment from family members, living condition

in a alien land, no one known to share her feelings

and troubles, etc. In spite of these problems, she

thought of the Lord only and she worked in a spirit

filled way to make her Lord glorified. With the

timely deed of this young girl, the Lord worked a

mighty miracle. She did not blame the Lord for her

condition of life and go away from the Lord. She

coped up with her situation and showed her faith,

which proved a real Israeli girl of her times.

This young girl of Israel, a real treasure in clay,

tells us much about how to witness the Lord. If we

look into our life, we can see how many times we

could have proved our faith in the Lord, had we

had such a courageous heart, like this young girl.

Now let us decide not to waste any of our life, ig-

noring the Lord. Every moment of our life is really

precious for witnessing our Lord.

Mathirapilly, who had been our spiritual advisor,

for so many years and who wholeheartedly sup-

ported the work of Holy Spirit, sat for confession.

Many people were there in the queue for confes-

sion. I tried to find out sins in me. Every moment

of my life came to my mind and I was very much

conscious of sin. I had always tried my best not to

submit myself to the forces of sin. I continuously

fight with sin, in order not to inflict pain on Jesus,

who is with me always.

I thoroughly checked up my mind and I still

couldn't find sin, which needed confession. An in-

consequential lie told to someone was brought

to my mind. I thought it could be ignored and con-

fessed to the Lord. I knelt down and confessed

directly to our Lord and sought his condonation. I

was praying with remorse and deeply, with my

eyes closed. A bright light flashed and some

luminated letters appeared which read : Go and

confess'. When I got this command from the God,

I got up immediately and stood in the queue for

confession.I was nearing the confessional wondering why

our Lord wanted me to confess to a priest, for such

a small sin, without accepting my confession di-

rectly. I couldn't understand this. What is the basis

of non-Catholics, who hold that the sacrament of

confession of the Catholic Church is a fraud? An-

swer to this also evaded my mind.

As my turn for confession came, I knelt beside

the priest, closed my eyes so that my inner eyes

could be opened. I saw Jesus sitting in the con-

fessional in the place of Fr. Peter. Jesus was bless-

ing everyone. Tears flowed down my eyes. I real-

ized why Jesus sent me to the confessional. I made

Whatever the Spirit of God prompts me to write, I share

it with you. It may be about anything or everything or

anybody. I submit this for the good of the Church.

In the first instance, I shall write about my confes-

your heart and with all your soul and with

all your strength and with all your mind."

Lk 10:27. How much do we love God? It is

easy to measure. Verify your thoughts be-

cause thoughts come from our hearts. If

God is there in our hearts, he will reflect in

our thoughts. When worldly things or any-

thing related to the world are filled in our

thoughts, there is no God in our heart.

Some people give first place to wife,

husband, parents, children, etc. whilst oth-

ers follow money, job, position, posses-

sions, health, etc. Watch over ourselves

where we spend much of our time. If we

spend more time for a particular thing inour life, other than glorifying God, we are

addicted to that which will take us away from God. This

is a kind of idol worship. Time meant for God is taken

away for worldly things.

Many problems we face today are just because of

our disobedience of the first commandment of God, in

our lives. We should love God 100%. We cannot claim

that I love God 50% and love my family 50%. One can-

not claim that I love God 60% and love my wife and

children 40%. Love for God should be 100%. We have to

check ourselves in which area of our life we have prob-

lem. It is clear that, this area occupies most of the time

of our lives and interferes even our love for God.

We have to come back to the Lord. Surrender every

area of our life to the Lord. Give the correct time for the

Lord and the Lord will take care of our problems. You

will take care of your time for God and everything willgo well with you. Praise the Lord.

my confessions not to a human being. The ab-

solution was given by Jesus himself. His prom-

ise came to my mind: This authority of our Lord

has been given to His disciples. If he had per-

mitted direct confession, He would not have

given the authority to His disciples. Jesus says

that when one confesses his sins to an anointed

and authorized disciple of Jesus i.e. a priest,

he has the authority to absolve sins on behalf

of God.

Confession has to be made not directly to God but to

an authorized priest. This realization helped me a lot in

purifying my life. I confess all my sins, trivial and grave,

which inflict pain on Jesus and get free. I glorify my Lord

for the sacrament of confession. "For where two or three

come together in my name, I am there with them." Mt

18:20. A sinner and a priest meet in the confessional, in

the name of Jesus who is present in their midst. In faith I

confess my sins to the Living God; in fact, I confess it to a

priest who has the authority to absolve all my sins."If you

forgive the sin of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain

the since of any,they are retained" Jn 20:23

My God miraculously delivered me

from acute alcoholism and bad

habits :- Jerry D'Silva - Vasai (East)My name is Jerry D'Silva residing at Vasai (East)

near Mumbai in Maharashtra. For the last 30 years, I

was suffering from acute alcoholic problems and itsresultant set backs in life. I used to sit in a bar from

morning till evening and I consume a lot of liquor.

Due to this alcoholism, my whole family was suffer-

ing. I had to return from USA because of this drunk-

enness. When I was in USA I had a bad fall and be-

cause of this fall, my back got injured and impaired

my walking. As a result, I had to leave USA and re-

turned to India. I visited many holy places and prayer

centers to get rid of these habits, but this couldn't

help me. Apart from alcoholism, I had violated al-

most all the commandments. I tried my best to stop

these vices in my life. I committed serious sins be-

fore and after my marriage. Because of this, my fam-

ily life got strained and the result was stress, strain

and tension in my life.

I play music in the Church during Sunday masses

regularly and attend charismatic prayers run by vari-

ous known persons. But no change took place in my

life. I was fed up and disturbed. Despair startedhaunting my life. At this juncture, I happened to

attend "Miracles in Rosary" prayer conducted by

Spirit in Jesus at Vasai (West). Though I had attended

it accidentally, wonderful changes started taking

place in my life. God touched me and removed all

my alcoholism and bad habits. It changed my life.

After this prayer, I regularly started going to the

church even on week days. When I play music in the

Church, I started getting mighty anointing and ex-

periencing the power of God. I started experiencing

the Holiness of the Living God and Holy Spirit really

filled in my heart which made me keep away from

alcoholism and bad habits for ever.

Jesus has really saved my life and I sincerely thank

my God who touched me and saved me from all my

ruin.

I was having spondylosis of the neck, shoulder and

back for more than five years. Hence, there was some-

thing moving up and down on my back. Severe pain

was there due to these problems. I have attended the

retreat of Spirit in Jesus and Jesus has healed me com-

pletely from all these diseases. There was heaviness

on my chest due to worries about my family. How-

ever, Lord has delivered me from this also and I feel

very light on my chest now. Thank God.

When I came to know about the retreat, I prayed to

Jesus and to the Holy Spirit to help me to go for the

same. During the prayer, I experienced the anointing

of the Holy Spirit. Then I attended the retreat of Spirit

in Jesus in March at Vasai. I was unable to read without

eyeglasses. During the retreat, I tried to read Bible with-

out eyeglasses and I could read without any problem.

However, I continued wearing glasses. Later, when Br. Tom Zacharia prayed over me, I fell down slain in spirit.

My glasses also fell on the floor and got damaged. Since

then, no more glasses with me, I could not use the same

and then I realized that my eye sight have become nor-

mal. Thank Jesus for healing my eyes.

LORD HEALED MY LEG PAIN

I had to undergo a surgery on my leg six months

ago. In spite of that I was unable to walk properly due

to severe pain. I attended the retreat of Spirit in Jesus.

During the retreat, Jesus touched my leg and healed

me completely. I have no pain on my leg now and can

walk normal. Thank God.

MY LORD GAVE ME A NEW LIFEVictorD Imello, Bandra, Mumbai

My wife, Margaret, had attended the retreats of

Spirit in Jesus and she has a strong faith, especially in

the miraculous power of the Holy Rosary. She used to

convince others about the power of rosary prayers.

But I did not support her in doing so. When I had

severe fever in September last, she prayed rosariesand I got healed. Then I had continuous hiccups day

and night. I was taken to various doctors, who could

not help me. They asked me to go to a hospital and

get admitted. Since, there was no vacant bed in hos-

pitals nearby, I continued treatment without being

admitted. Many days passed. My condition became

worse. I also had severe throat pain and was unable

to breathe properly. My Wife was praying rosaries

these days. As a last resort, I telephoned Br. Babu of Spirit in Jesus, who told me to pray the rosary loudly

meditating the mysteries. I started to pray rosary.

When I completed one rosary and started the second

rosary, my hiccups did stop and I felt like having got a

new life. I never had hiccups since then. Thank God

for bringing me to more faith.

I had attended the 'Miracles in Rosary' prayer meet-

ing of Spirit in Jesus near Spencer supermarket. I had

stone and cyst and pain when I came for that prayer. In

the prayer, I felt Jesus healed me and I went to hospital

for checkup to confirm my healing. They tested me and

the sonography result confirmed the absence of stone

and cyst. I also had severe mental stress before at-

tending the prayer meeting and it is gone forever.

During the retreat of Spirit in Jesus, Br. Tom Zacharia

told us that the sins not confessed so far may cause

diseases. He also told us that Holy Spirit can help us to

remember our sins from childhood. I have asked Holy

Spirit to help me to remember my sins. Then I haddone confession. After the confession, Holy Spirit

started touching me. I had pain in my stomach and

minor asthma. Though I had pain during retreat, I did

not pray for healing, instead, I kept my hand on chest

and prayed to Jesus to come into my heart. When I

prayed this way, I noticed that my stomach pain and

asthma were healed completely. Praise you Jesus.

STRONGER THAN IRON: This Newspaper is printed on paper made from

Cellulose Fibers obtained from wood pulp. The Fibers

are fairly large, on the order of 10 micrometers wide,

and the resulting paper is fairly weak-pull on it and it

tares easily.

Researchers in Sweden and Japan have developed

a much stronger paper, made from much smaller

fibrils of cellulose. This “Nan paper” has a tensile

strength greater than that of cast iron.

Marielle Hendrickson of the royal institute of

technology in Stockholm and colleagues used en-

zymes and a gentle beating technique to produce

fibrils on the order of tense of nanometers wide,

roughly 1000 th of width of conventional fibers. They

WORLDAs over 30 nations grapple with food riots caused by

rising prices, India's story on how it pulled off record

farm production will hold the world's attention at the

three-day food security summit beginning here on

Tuesday.Agriculture minister Sharad Pawar will share the

country's experience at the summit, being organized by

the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), To draw a

common strategy to tackle the global food crisis and

the impact of climate change on the availability of food

grains.

The summit is being held at a time when global food

prices have soared to a ten year high, hitting the poor the

hardest India's voice will be important as the country has

managed to increase its agricultural output to a record level

of 227mn tones, “as a result of various measures taken by

the government to revitalize agriculture”.

Procurement of food grains for the public distribution

system has touched 47 mn tonnes, said an official release,

pointing out that the country “has been able to manage

food security, both in terms of availability and price level in

a satisfactory manner”.

NEWSMETRO ROUTES TO GET

RS 4500 CRS FROM DELHI The centre will fund the 'Viability gap' for

the Mumbai metro project, Union urban devel-

opment minister Jaipal Reddy announced on

Wednesday. Reiterating that PM Manmohan

Singh was especially focused on Mumbai, the

country's financial capital, Reddy said the cen-

tre would bear Rs 4500 crs of the total cost of

Rs 22,000 crs . Reddy's announcement, made

at a city function, and was welcomed by top

officials connected with the project.

Maharashtra has been trying for almost two

years to get central sanction for the Viability

gap funding (VGF) for the first three corridors

of the Mumbai Metro. Viability is the sum the

government underwrites to make a project fi-

nancially viable for the promoter. On a visit to

the city in 2006, Reddy had promised Central

help for the first line of the Mumbai metro which

amounts to Rs 650 cr. But months had passed

without a sanction. “The state government had

in fact decided to go ahead with the first line

and was willing to pay the VGF costs if the cen-

tral funds did not flow in”, said official. The firstthree corridors of the Mumbai metro will cost

over Rs 22,000 crs, with the Versova Andheri

Ghatkhopar line costing Rs 2,356 crs, The

Colaba- Bandra-Mankhurd line Rs 6,000crs and

the Colaba- Bandra line over 12,000 crs.Mumbai

Metro One, a special purpose vehicle, was

floated to build the first corridor with Reliance

Energy Ltd as the major stake holder. The

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development

Authority (MMRDA) and a French multinational

firm ,Veolia , are the other stake holders.

NEW LIFE FOR OLD

CHURCH RECORDSCatholics from Bandra to Borivali can look forward to tracing

their lineage back several hundred years with crumbling church

records receiving a fresh lease thanks to a conservation project at

St Andrews Church in Bandra, one of the oldest in the suburbs.

The project will not only preserve the family histories of the com-

munity for the coming generation but also contribute to under-

standing suburban life over the past few hundred years.

“St Andrews Church was established in 1580 and served a wide

population from Bandra right up to Juhu for several hundred

years. Some of its parishioners later migrated to Borivili and Vasai

to avoid the plagues which killed many people in the 19th cen-tury but continued to come to the church for baptism, marriages

and burials,” said Major Leon Fonseca who first pushed for the

project.

The old existing register dating back from 1750 has been re-

stored and the project is gathering steam. In a small room in the

church complex, the pain staking work of restoration is being

undertaken by experts from Intach who were brought in from its

Orissa art conservation centre for the project. It is expected to last

over six months and cost Rs 7 lakhs.Fonseca, a history buff, pointed

out that the root of the oldest register is from the church of Santa

Anna, the earliest church in Bandra which stood on grounds which

are now the BEST bus depot near the station. “The church was

blown up by the British Army as a defensive measure to prevent

it from being used as a staging point for an attack by the Maratha

Army in 1739.

Some of its registers and artifacts were taken to the other

churches in Bandra,” he said.“The church of Santa Anna was de-

stroyed but its register was preserved and will yield useful infor-

mation to any researcher who is curious enough to open its pages

for a read”, said Fonseca
