Each year, in a glamorous star- studded evening , the
Hollywood Bowl launches its offi cial season w ith Opening
Night at the Bowl, featuring the Hollywood Bowl Hall of
Fame concer t . #e 2010 inductees are Donna Summer, the
Car penters (accepted by R ichard Car penter), and Jean-
Yv e s #ibaudet. Multiple Grammy-winning
musician/composer/producer Herb Alpert will induct the
Carpenters in this fun-$l led gala , which culminates in a
spectacular $rework s display. W hat a great way to enjoy al l
that the Bowl has to off er!
An exciting , v ibrant performer and a cultural pop icon,
Donna Summer $rst sold out the Bowl in 1979 and sold it
out again as recently as 2008. She i s one of a smal l group
of artists to sell over 100 million records, including such hits
as “Love to Love You, Baby,” and “Bad Girls.”
#e Carpenters’ relationship with the Hollywood Bowl dates
back to 1966, w hen 16-year-old K aren and 19-year-old
R ichard won three award s at the venue’s “Ba& le of the
Bands,” an event that launched their legendar y career,
during which they also sold over 100 million records.

appeared on the Hol lywood Bowl stage in 1989 and has
per formed at the venue on a reg ular basi s ever s ince. In
addition to recording over 40 classical albums, he has also
ventured into jazz w ith CDs such as Conversations with Bill
