1990, starting with the setup of Amazon Gas by Pat Ardis, CamGas’s Managing Director. The below timeline

New Install and LPG Site DevelopmentBack in 2018, family-owned Tree Tops Caravan Park in

North Wales were coming to the end of their contract with their

existing LPG supplier and took the opportunity to seek other

leading supplier recommendations from friends within the

industry. CamGas were one of the recommendations.

On meeting the owners of Tree Tops, we quickly established a working

relationship and developed a strategy tailored to their requirements.

Outlined in their initial brief, Tree Tops specified the importance of

partnering with a company who would become an extension of their

own team, who they could rely on when things didn’t go to plan and

who understood the family orientation of their business.

We proposed removing their existing seven tanks – four above ground,

three below ground, located in three separate compounds across the

Tree Tops site. We then installed four CamGas tanks in their newly

developed compound which would maximise all available park space.

With great satisfaction, we completed the work in four days, ensuring

minimal disruption to the park. Tree Tops now enjoy a new, efficient

LPG supply. In addition, they now benefit from a single tanker delivery

point, reduced tank rentals and increased parking spaces. Also, in one

of the vacated compounds Tree Tops have introduced beehives further

enhancing the park’s green credentials.

Tank ExchangeGlan Gwna is a private countryside Holiday Home Park in North

Wales for caravans and lodges. Nestled in a secluded wooded

valley and located just two miles from Caernarfon on the edge of

the Snowdonia National Park.

In 2018, Glan Gwna’s owners were exploring the opportunity to

change the LPG supplier to their park as they required additional LPG

expertise and a seamless delivery service. With the large site already

fully developed to a high standard, the requirement was a simple task

of exchanging their existing twelve tanks that supplied the park.

At the same time we took the opportunity to install newly fabricated

steel pipework to connect the supply to the underground LPG system.

We are thrilled to report that the job was very straight forward and no

major issues arose during the changeover of the tanks. The final task

involved transferring the remaining gas from the old tanks into the new

tanks to ensure no loss of product for the customer.

Cylinder TelemetryHerons Lake Retreat is a prestigious lodge park situated in

North Wales, featuring tranquil lake views that can be admired

from the comfort of your veranda while soaking in a luxurious

hot tub.

This busy hire fleet site recognised the need to reduce man-hours

and the manual handling involved with changing cylinders on a daily

basis by the park’s workforce, which were located throughout the park.

Additionally, they wanted to eliminate the worry of forgetting to order

and manage the sites LPG requirements.

After an effective site survey, bulk LPG was quickly ruled out as it would

be too disruptive to the park as it sits on an old stone quarry. The agreed

solution was a full cylinder telemetry monitoring system, operated on

ITO Europe automatic OPSO changeover valves.

Due to the systems plug and play capability, all sixty lodges were fitted

within one day, immediately allowing gas orders to be sent directly

to the CamGas head office. With this newly installed gas system for

Herons Lake Retreat, deliveries are now being made direct from their

local CamGas depot to individual lodges.

Herons Lake’s Operations Manager, John Roberts, highlighted advantage

after advantage to their company with a reduction in cylinder stock,

man-hours and emergency call-outs.

ITO TAX LPG Changeover

The TAX Changeover is manufactured from aluminium with a

high-performance coating providing strong resistance in aggressive

environments such as coastal regions. Its high capacity allows up to 8

cylinders to be installed.

The signal mechanism contains magnets which ensures a positive

signal is sent – no false alarms. The Gaslog telemetry unit has a 10 – 15

year battery life and is fully sealed to be completely protected from

the elements.

Greenfield SiteBursting with natural charm and picturesque views, Maes Mynan

Park, a new Acorn Leisure development, is the perfect setting for

exclusive rural holiday homes and staycation holidays.

CamGas were delighted to be awarded the contract to supply this

prestigious new greenfield site in early 2019.

Starting with design, then installation and through to aftercare,

CamGas have worked with park management to render the necessary

working solutions for each holiday pitch.

As the Maes Mynan Park development will eventually include 180

units, comprising of lodges, static caravans and touring caravans, it

was beneficial for CamGas to be part of the development process.

It was agreed from the outset that all units will be connected to the

LPG system through a meter box - perfect for allowing Acorn Leisure

customer’s to understand their own individual energy usage, whilst

offering park management an accurate gas consumption for billing

purposes.

In addition this system is fitted with telemetry enabling live monitoring

of the sites LPG levels. This offers peace of mind to park management,

as it ensures LPG deliveries will be made automatically whenever

needed.
