2018 BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINEES BIOGRAPHIES MICHAEL ANZIANO I have been a member of Hillcrest Golf Club for about 20 years. Following my retirement in May, 2018 from 28 years of teaching at Fort Lewis College I am able to participate in a service commitment of a Board member. I do not have a business or finance background, but as a faculty member and department chair at FLC I have a lot of experience in working with groups to accomplish goals and objectives. This Summer I was a member of the selection committee that reviewed the files and conducted interviews that resulted in a recommendation to the Board for our next Hillcrest PGA Professional. One reason for my intention to serve on the Board is to help provide a smooth transition for our new Pro with respect to managing operations, and importantly – establishing relationships with Hillcrest members and the local community. I would support keeping our membership rates affordable in the context of excellent course maintenance and fair wages for staff members. OLIVER BOSEMAN I was born in The Netherlands and moved to the US in 2004. After my engineering education, I worked as an EHS consultant for about 20 years, starting my own environmental consulting business in 2005. My work has taken me all over the world, and as an avid golfer I have had the pleasure of playing a great variety of courses. My three children aged 9, 11, and 13 years were all born in Durango and also members of Hillcrest. I would like to use my expertise, project management skills, and hands on approach to help maintain our beautiful golf course that we are all very proud to be members of. Being on the Board would allow me to give something back as an independent Member. I am committed to work with all stakeholders, from senior to junior and from within our community to outside. I would be honored to provide my time and energy and be considered for a board position. MICHAEL BRENNAN As I finish my first term on the Board, I am pleased with the work we have done and I believe my contributions have been positive ones. 2018 BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOMINEES BIOGRAPHIESMICHAEL ANZIANO

I have been a member of Hillcrest Golf Club for about 20 years.

OLIVER BOSEMAN

I was born in The Netherlands and moved to the US in 2004.

MICHAEL BRENNAN

As I finish my first term on the Board, I am pleased with the work we have done and I believe my contributions have been positive ones. As House Committee Chair, I initiated the project to convert all our lighting at the clubhouse and shop to LED's, thus saving energy costs and moving towards a "greener" Hillcrest. I also led a volunteer effort to give the clubhouse a facelift, caught up with mechanical repairs, and oversaw sprinkler system, heating and cooling system repairs. As Selection Committee Chair, I oversaw the advertising and interviewing of candidates for our Golf Pro, concluding in the choice of an excellent PGA professional. In that position, I also improved the communication loop with membership and will work to continue that if elected. I would also like to remain on the board to support our new Pro and help to carefully modify our policies and practices to better match our new leadership model. Looking ahead to the coming years, I believe my human resources experience can continue to help the club structure wages and benefits for the newly enlarged staff we now

supervise. Please consider voting for me to preserve continuity and expertise in this time of dramatic and positive change.

RICH HOEHLEIN

I have been a member at Hillcrest for nine years (including serving as course ranger for five years) since retiring and moving here from Virginia. Over that time, I have consistently been impressed with the value and beauty of the golfing experience at our course, as well as the friendliness of our members and their desire to maintain the quality and accessibility available to the community. With the recent changes in our staffing and financial arrangements, I would like to take on an active leadership role in helping to ensure the viability of the strategic goals that the board has identified for the future. I would very much enjoy serving on the board of directors and contributing my time and talents for the benefit of our association.

My prior volunteer experience includes serving on a variety of non-profit local, state and national boards, which gave me the opportunity to be engaged in strategic planning, membership development and

services, as well as budget preparation and oversight. I am currently the chair of the Durango Parks and Recreation Advisory board; additionally, I am on the executive committee and involved with various projects of the Professional Associates of Fort Lewis College. My work experience includes 35+ years as a college administrator working for Michigan State University, the Virginia Community College system, and the University of Virginia, coordinating the delivery of instructional services to adult learners seeking undergraduate or graduate degrees.

If elected, I am committed to making a positive contribution and being a good representative of members’ interest and concerns.

JESSE LARSON

I am Jesse Larson and I have four awesome kids and an amazing Wife!!!! My Dad and I own Pine River Pawn, Pine River Motors, Covenant Builders, Covenant Granite Works and I am one of the Pastors at Life Church in Bayfield. Love My Church. I have been playing golf for 32 years and started playing tournament golf at the age of nine. I feel like I can bring a much needed perspective to the board of Hillcrest. I recently served on the selection committee to find our new Head Pro. I look forward to working with the Head Pro and the Members to better everyone’s experience at Hillcrest. My experiences in Golf, Construction, Sales, Customer Service and Pastoring will be very valuable in this time of transition.

As a 16 year Member, I know how special Hillcrest is and how important of a task it would be to be elected to the Board of Hillcrest. GOD BLESS

RICK MACEWEN

Hi, my name is Rick. I’ve been a Hillcrest member since 1996 and an employee of the Golf Staff for 11 years. With the exciting changes that are about to happen at Hillcrest, I believe that my experience will be very helpful, especially in the pro shop, range operation and golf cart end of the business. Also with the expected increase of revenue, it will be vital to make as many improvements to our course that are warranted, and also affordable. Paying down the course debt has to be number one on the priority list. I would also like to see the course go back to being run for the members instead of the convenience of the course. Thank you for your consideration!

WILLIAM “BILL” WARREN

Bill is from Grand Rapids, Michigan where he lived and worked until moving to Durango in 2001. Bill graduated from Michigan State University with a BA degree in Economics and Political Science in 1968 and then attended Law School at The Detroit College of Law from 1968 – 1971 when he received his JD degree. He practiced law in Grand Rapids from 1971 to 1995 and then started his own law firm where he practiced from 1995 to 2006. Bill is married to Chris Warren and they have three boys and nine grandchildren. Since being in Durango, Bill has served on several boards, including the Animas Fire Protection District Board, San Juan Mountain Association Board (President), Community Health Action Committee Board, Axis Health System Board (Vice Chair) and Valley Wide Health System Board. Bill has been a member at Hillcrest Golf Club for many years and enjoys playing on a regular basis. He is also involved in skiing, hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing and exploring the back country of the San Juan

Mountains. Hillcrest plays a very important role in attracting people to Durango and providing an excellent source for camaraderie and friendship for those who take advantage of this wonderful facility. Golf can and should be an affordable family activity and membership should provide special benefits. What can I bring to the board: 1) Board experience 2) A legal perspective 3) Knowledge about Hillcrest and many of its members 4) Knowledge of insurance 5) Knowledge of running a business and 6) Knowledge of our community and what it needs
