To make the Christmas day even merrier, Story Ghar brought an exuberant and
frolic storytelling adventure for kids on 25th December, 2014 at Epicenter, Gurgaon. The day’s program
was divided into two shows namely “Aladdin Aur Kuch Qisse” and “Karname Sheikh Chilli Ke”. With a unique
style of her own, Jaishree Sethi, the director of Story Ghar gave a theatrical presentation of the two fables.
Bhawana Anand through her interactive anchoring and comic one-liners warmed up the audience and
paved the way for the storytelling sessions. While the former show covered the classic Middle Eastern ‘rags
to riches’ tale of Aladdin, a poor young hero, his beautiful princess and a wicked sorcerer. The latter show
presented the chronicles of a young simpleton, a daydreamer, a fakir called Sheikh Chilli who was notorious
for his follies. His accounts were full of jest and funny punch lines that tickled little hearts and filled them
with zest and laughter. The entire narration of the stories was done in an exotic manner. The light and
sound effects which were controlled by Mr. Salem created an aura of mystique and added a healthy dose of
magic to the storytelling event.
The Stories were backed by music and a fun-packed round of
riddles that added melody and a perkiness to the act, respective-
ly. The title tracks of the stories were penned down by Jaishree
Sethi and composed by the music team of Story Ghar- Vibhor
Mathur (flutist), Tulja Sharma (vocalist) and Abhinav Goel
(guitarist). The group also sang Carols at the closure of the event
and made the audience sing along to share the festivities of
Christmas. The thrilling performance by the artists captivated
and mesmerized both children and adults alike.
