TUDOR ARTISAN HUB, Sunday 3rd June, 1.30-3.30pm: WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?A collaboration between visual artists, local creative writers and the public. Prior to the Festival, local artists selected pieces of their own artwork and recorded how they

came to be and what prompted their creation. We then paired local writers with an art piece and asked them to write a short piece in response to what they saw. Over the Festival weekend, these art pieces will be displayed in the Hub, where the public can view and also jot down a few words, their reaction to the same pieces. Does it evoke a memory or an emotion? On Sunday all will be revealed. The public’s reaction to each piece will be read out, along with the corresponding writer’s response, after which we will listen to the recording from the artist in their own words about how their work actually came to be created. This initiative is brought to you in association with the Tudor Artisan Hub and creative writing tutor, Margaret O’Brien, (Writing Changes Lives).ART TRAIL COMPETITION: Get your card stamped at 8 Art Exhibition Trail venues for a chance to win a €75 voucher towards the artwork of your choice. This fandom has been around for many years but has grown vastly in recent times thanks to the internet which has led to themed conventions around the world. ‘Furries’ is also the term used for people who interact online and share their art, and many create and wear suits of their characters to conventions and meet ups. Many within this fandom find great personal expression and fun through creating art and role playing as these characters. Pop in and find out more!
