    DescriptionHerbal Therapy is a broad term used to

    refer to any type of healthcaretreatment using fresh or dried herbs.

    The use of herbs may take the form ofsupplements, fusions, or teas, tinctures,topical creams and poultices. Herbtherapy may also include the creation of

    a healing steam that is scented withvarious combinations of herbs.*

    Scientific ResearchOne study we found was on the

    treatment of rheumatoid arthritiswith different types of herbaltherapy. There were many differentherbal interventions tested andcompared with placebo. The endresults showed that some of theherbal interventions did result inpotential pain relief, morningstiffness, and joint tenderness.*

    Future (cont.)

    A survey conducted in 2004 showed that more than one third of

    the population in the United States was currently using some

    form of natural medicine. With such a large number of its

    citizens using alternatives to mainstream medical care, thegovernment has begun to take notice, develop policies,

    regulations and fund research.

    Will natural medicine make it to the main stream? Of course it

    will, its here. It is slowly but surely being integrated as we

    speak. The only thing left to do is give it a try, and start healing.
