DESCRIPTION

After completing the initial year, I4MS has hosted its first public international event on 18th June in Berlin, in cooperation with the launch of the German manufacturing programme, “Autonomik für Industrie 4.0". I4MS has brought together more than 150 professionals from industry and innovation, who have attended to several presentations about what has been achieved by I4MS and further funding opportunities for SMEs and middle size corporates (mid-caps) under the Initiative. The event signified the importance of SMEs in Europe’s manufacturing industry and their role in the reindustrialisation process for Europe. At a glance: SMEs are providers of around 45% of manufacturing added value and roughly 59% of employment in the manufacturing sector.

PROJECT “INTEFIX”

1.1. FIELD OF WORK (INTEFIX)

The INTEFIX project aims to establish fixture design methodologies taking advantage of the available state of the

art software and hardware tools (sensors, actuators, CAD/CAM/CAE, CNC, PLC, process simulation tools,...)

combined with ad-hoc ICT tools (control algorithms, simulation tools...) to control and adapt the behaviour of the

fixture, resulting in the development of intelligent fixtures. These methodologies will be based on the use of

modular elements to obtain highly configurable, fast, accurate and durable fixture systems.

3. OUR COLLABORATION AND WORK

Distortions in aeronautical structural parts.

Description:

• Control of distortions in a slender structural aeronautic component, with intensive material removal

• Residual stresses from previous process and additional stress due to clamping process

• Different clamping stages to achieve an undistorted component ⇒ reduced precision, high dispersion in the results, high

rejection rate

• Complicated fixture due to low and changing stiffness

I4MS: FOSTERING DIGITAL INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION IN EUROPE

• Complicated fixture due to low and changing stiffness

• Currently the workpiece is supported using resin, resulting in long processes due to polymerization circles

Partners in the Workpackage:

• IK4-IDEKO (Spain) , KALE AERO (Turkey); DR. MATZAT & Co. GmbH (Germany)
