TimeWise® Targeted-Action™ Line Reducer does that and more by providing an instant
sensation or signal that the product is working, as well as long-term improvements. When
customers experience both immediate and long-term benefits, repeated use and frequent
purchases often result.
Q. So what makes TimeWise® Targeted-Action™ Line Reducer so effective?A. Because this is a targeted product, scientists at the Mary Kay Skin Care Laboratories
looked for ingredients that would deliver visible benefits to very specific areas on the face:
• Light-reflecting microspheres act like thousands of tiny mirrors, deflecting light
away from lines and wrinkles so they look softened and visibly less pronounced
within minutes of application.
• Gliadin (gli- d- n), a rich source of amino acids, invisibly “fills in” lines and wrinkles,
firming and tightening skin without inhibiting facial expression.
• Three extremely effective antioxidants – pomegranate extract and vitamin A and

Q. In addition to the two clinical studies, was any consumer researchconducted?A. Yes. We also wanted to know what benefits women would see after using TimeWise®
Targeted-Action™ Line Reducer. So we conducted an in-depth consumer study to find
out, and here’s what they said: Within minutes of application, 66 percent said that lines
looked smoother and softer; 62 percent agreed that their skin felt tighter; 60 percent
said that their skin looked firmer; and 61 percent said that their skin looked more youthful.
This group of women also told us that the formula, which is suitable for all skin types
and skin tones, was lightweight, felt silky to the touch and dried quickly so that they were
able to apply their foundation effortlessly.
Q. How should my customers use this click pen? A. The TimeWise® Targeted-Action™ Line Reducer click pen plays an important role
in delivering a precise amount of the lightweight cream to the areas that need it the most.
Before the first use, the pen must be primed. The first time it’s used, twist the base until
a small amount of product is visible on the pen tip. (The next time, only a slight twist of
the base is needed for the product to appear.) Place it directly on lines and wrinkles,
then gently pat the product into place with a fingertip. Be careful not to “over pat,” which
might lessen the effectiveness of the formula. If the treated areas develop a “powdery”
finish, that’s a sure sign too much product was applied. Some practice may be necessary
to determine the right amount of product to use, but the results are worth the practice.

For Independent Senior Sales Director BernadetteArbolante, her Mary Kay career was the answer to her
long search for meaning and growth in life. Born to awell to do family, Adette technically didn’t need to work.She was financially supported by her parents, and itwas really not necessary for her to join the ranks ofthe work force upon graduation. But when her parentsmigrated, she was nagged with the question of whatto do next with her life. She felt compelled to dosomething because something in her felt empty,and she believed she wasn’t reaching her maximumpotential as a person.
“I couldn’t imagine myself doing this businessbecause I was really a shy person, but when Isaw the big picture of what the Mary Kayopportunity had to offer for me, I grabbed itimmediately,” she shares.
A Hotel and Restaurant Management graduate ofPhilippine Women’s University, Adette began her Mary
Kay career in April 2005 when her recruiter introducedMary Kay products to her. She was simply impressed withthe products and became a very, very happy customer.So happy in fact that she became “addicted” to our
products. The reason shesigned up as well was to availof the 45% discount since shereally wanted to try all theproducts.
Adette is a very organizedperson. She uses the WeeklyPlan Sheet and always makesit a point that she follows herschedule. It enables her toprioritize her time, especiallysince she is full time withMary Kay. Her first Skin CareClass gave her a sales ofPhp14,000, and this hasmade her concentrate onpersonal selling and beingconsistent with booking.
Distributing flyers is her forte. Infact, as part of her booking
technique, she and her recruiter would open the newspaper and courageouslyget leads immediately. And she gets positive results alwaysbecause she keeps a positive attitude at all times. Sheenjoys the business so much because she is able to helpothers and see the instant gratification they feel. Sheclaims as well that the products sell themselves; and mostof all, through Mary Kay, she has been transformed. Sheis credible enough to be called a “Beauty Consultant.” Sheadds that “Mary Kay has taught me to be moreperseverant and optimistic. I can absolutely say thatI have become a more empowered individual and thathas made a lot of difference in my life, and I want toshare this with everyone else.”
For Adette, booking is like one of her favorite hobbies –collecting fishes. It is really about knowing how to takecare of your “soon to be customers.” You have to knowwhat to say, what approach to apply for every individual– same theory applies to make fishes live longer. “MaryKay is a teaching business, we teach our customersthe right way to take care of their skin and that makesus different from other companies,” she stresses.
Adette’s Mary Kay business is stable. “I would like to seemyself doing the business and continue helping otherpeople in the best way I can,” she muses. She wouldlike to grow old in this Company and continue doing thebusiness - the Mary Kay way. She ensures as well that herunit members follow the Mary Kay way. As an IndependentSenior Sales Director, she pledges to lay down all thecards to all her members, especially the new ones. Shetrains them and equips them with adequate knowledgewith regards to the business.
Mary Kay has truly transformed Adette. Her life is sodifferent now: through Mary Kay, she has met differentpeople, has been to different places and has attendeddifferent training programs. She has received a fax machine,desktop computer, laptop, pink car and two unforgettabletrips to China and Prague. From not knowing what lifewould bring her, to a front desk job at a hotel, to beingmarried and bearing two beautiful children up to the dayMary Kay found her (through her recruiter), Adette nowcan gratefully say that indeed, “I’ve never seen anycompany as beautiful as this.”

The year was 2005 of April when Ledi decided to registeras an Independent Beauty Consultant. Prior to signingup, she already heard a lot about Mary Kay, but was simplynot interested in colors. So instead of initially joining, shereferred customers. It took her a year to finally get her firstfacial.
But it was all worth the wait because Ledi immediatelyimmersed herself in all the training programs Mary Kayhad to offer. She memorized the Career Path by heart. ByOctober 2005, she debuted as an Independent SalesDirector and three months after, became an IndependentSenior Sales Director.
Ledi shares that booking is very important. She realizedthis, and the grand opportunity of the Mary Kay career inher first Skin Care Class. This particular class changedher life, it was her turning point - because she was finallyconvinced that our products worked - when she saw thePhp23,000 sale (in cash) she made out of the class. Shewas simply impressed! At present, Ledi continues tobook every single day. If truth be told, she doesn’t let aday pass without scheduling appointments – either forher personal class or for assistance towards her BeautyConsultants. She gets restless when she does notschedule any appointment in a day. She is an “all work,no play” kind of person. Admittedly, she shares that sheis a workaholic, and this is because she has been usedto working since the young age of 17. For her, consistency
is not necessarily about everyday. It is aboutactivity – daily Mary Kay activities.The reason behind the success of every bookingLedi schedules is due to the right words shesays. She invites to pamper rather than toearn. She never lets negativity inside thepicture. She has mastered the art ofbooking by educating herself andimmersing herself through endlesstrainings, product classes and unitmeetings of her Independent SeniorSales Director. She also makes sure thatonce a class pushes through, that hercustomers try the products first, and sheteaches them how to use the productsproperly. She values words: when she sayssomething, she really means it. She nevermanipulates people and does things withpassion. Mary Kay, for her, is not a short termbusiness. She emphasizes that “If you dothings right, little by little, you’ll reap therewards.”
Ledi is not in a rush. “Nothing is difficult inMary Kay if you do things consistently,” shestresses. She has her goals allplanned out accordingly, andabove all, she aims to become anIndependent Executive SeniorSales Director by 2008. Shewants a stable and active unitand will see to it that she willtrain each of her unit members.And definitely, by that time, shewill not only say “this is good!”but “this is better!”
