paign mode Experience can also be obtained by performing challenges specific to eachgame mode

Once you gain enough experience, you will advance to the next rank Each rank unlocks a newaircraft, a special skin, or a new weapon pack for the available planes The new planes/weaponpacks can be used during multiplayer matches or in campaign

Several planes or weapons are crucial to specific operations during campaign and are availableto use during those missions even if they are not unlocked

vERSuSThere are two multiplayer connection options in HAWX:

Online Play games over the Internet

LAN Use your local area network to play

The following options are available in the Online multiplayer menu:

Quick Match: Join a random game

Custom Match: Use filters to find the exact game you want or host a new session

Leaderboards: View the current rankings and the overall performance of the players

Friends & Players list: Lists your friends as well as people youve played with recently You canadd new friends or invite them to your games

Creating or joining games on LAN works similarly to creating or joining matches in the Onlinesection; however, the games are available only to players connected by a local area network

Up to 8 players can compete in the Team Deathmatch adversarial mode

Team DeathmatchThis is the classic team-versus-team adversarial mode, where one team tries to gain victory overthe other Each kill is scored, and the round ends when the predetermined time or score limithas been reached

Specific features are available only in this mode

sUpport ElEmEntsThese are particular gameplay components available at certain moments; they are designed toprovide bonuses to the allied team or to hinder the enemies You will gain access to them whileobtaining points and can bring only one of them into play at a time This can be done by usingthe Support Weapons element on the HUD

    Examples of support elements:

EMP strike: Has an offensive role, forcing the enemy players to stall for a few seconds

AWACS support: Improves the range and effectiveness of the missiles and rockets of allplayers on the team

Missile restriction: Forces the opponents to use only the unguided weapons for a period

of time Repair: Has a defensive role, spawning small drones near each allied player that slowly

repair the damage to the planes Each drone can be targeted and destroyed by the opposi-tion

Jamming: Obstructs the targeting systems of the enemy players, making it harder for them tolock on targets

Cannon upgrade: Increases the damage and range of the cannon for all the team members

Radar suppression: Camouflages the team members, making them invisible to the enemytracking systems

rEqUEstsYou can issue requests to the other members of your team using the Wingman commands Afteryou have issued a request, a confirmation message is shown to all the team members, allowingthem to quickly accept or deny

If nobody confirms the request in a short time, the request is automatically removed

If you accept a request and accomplish it, you will receive extra points

Attack My Target (Wingman attack command)

You call for help from other team members against your current target If another player acceptsthe request, he will have the new target selected automatically

This method can be useful for pinpointing high-priority opponents

    Defend Me (Wingman defend command)

If you feel threatened you can request aid against your attackers The player that accepts the

    8

request will have the target switched to the enemy that poses the highest threat to the memberthat requested assistance

strEaksYou are rewarded for earning points without dying The increase in score is calculated based onthe streak modifier As long as you continue to perform well without being shot down, the streakcounter will rise

tEam aCEThe player with the highest streak is considered the ace in his team

When a player becomes a teams ace, this is announced to all players Also, he will be shownon radar and HUD

When shot down, an ace is worth more points than a regular enemy The score gained for killingthe other teams ace is based on the streak modifier he had

matCH lEadErThe match leader is the player with the most points on the team that currently has the lead Heis worth double points when killed

WEapon sElECtIonBefore starting a match, you have the possibility to choose the weapon pack you want to useduring the match This can also be performed after being shot down, before respawning

AIRCRAFTThe important characteristics of any aircraft in HAWX can be observed in the planeselection menu

The overall performance of each plane versus air targets or ground targets is represented asstars This information takes into account the attributes and ordnance specific to each aircraftA higher number of stars means better performance

The important parameters are represented visually as bars A longer bar indicates higher valuesfor that parameter

    Speed Maximum speed

Maneuverability Overall agility based on combined pitch, roll, and yaw performance

Armor The durability of the plane, representing its ability to survive direct hits

Each plane can have a number of attributes These can illustrate advantages or disadvantagesof that specific aircraft in various categories If there are no specific details indicated, then theplane has conventional behavior/equipment in that area

Payload Describes the ammo carried by the plane; can be low or high

Stall-entry Shows how fast a plane will stall; a stable plane will enter the stall regimen harderthan a normal aircraft, while an unstable plane is susceptible to stalling while performing evenstandard maneuvers

Stall-recovery Shows how much time it takes for a plane to regain stability while stalling; anaircraft with fast recoveryexits stall quickly while for aslow-recoveryaircraft it is much more dif-ficult to regain lift
