My First 12 Months1. Senate Bill 2807 passed to formally
establish ETS, consolidating two IT programs under the CIO
2. Expedited transition to Office 365 —11,500+ state personnel
3. Rolled out digital signature program –30,000 transactions and counting
4. Created IT Governance process to ensure no further failed IT projects
5. Established backup data center at UH
6. Shut down and took over Hawai‘i Health Connector
7. Launched payroll modernization RFP with internal state PMO
8. Piloting new IT workforce development program
9. Hired 22 new employees into vacancies
10. Put voter registration online
11. Completed Anuenue Interisland Digital Microwave Network
12. Expanded state’s open data platform
13. Identified IT cost recovery model: Technology-Based Management (TBM)
14. Had a new baby!!
Data Center Colocation Agreement Provides Resilient Backup◦ MOA between ETS and UH signed on March 15, 2016
◦ Leverages UH IT Center to reduce risks associated with some of the state’s IT systems while saving taxpayer dollars
◦ IT systems housed at the state’s primary data center in the Kalanimoku Building are migrating to UH’s LEED Gold data center to the extent possible to provide resilient backup
◦ Teams worked together on this mutually beneficial and cost-effective solution
◦ Physical security, access and reliability were key factors in identifying the UH IT Center as a viable site
