When Harry went into his garden he saw some new, green shoots coming through the soil.
What could they be?
shoots
It is March. Harry saw that lots of new plants were starting to grow.

buds.
When he looked carefully, even the trees had started to change. “I wonder what this is called,” he said.

Harry tried to learn the names of some of the spring flowers, like these yellow ones.

These are very popular flowers for spring. Do you know what they are called?
Daffodil
Harry thought these tiny flowers were as white as snow. The petals looked like drops of water. These flowers had pushed through the dead winter leaves.

Harry liked the purple flowers growing by the fence.
crocus
Harry was surprised to see that some green shrubs had signs of new growth. Can you spot the new growth?

The trees had pink or white flowers on the branches.

Some flowers on the trees looked like lambs tails, and wiggled in the breeze.

Harry noticed that the birds had begun to built nests. He saw then flying around in the sky with bits of small twigs in their beaks.
It takes a lot of time an effort to build a nest. Once a comfy, warm, safe nest is built the female bird will lay her eggs.
Harry had also heard that lots of baby animals were being born now that it is spring.
Baby animals are born in spring because they will have plenty to eat and it will not be too cold for themas they grow bigger.
Even in the vegetable patch plants were growing long green leaves. Harry thought how busy plants were in spring!
