supporting the Hearts for Autism Fund.
Camp New Amigos is a week long
day camp where children with autism
can enjoy the summer in a fun and safe
environment.
2012 camp consisted of 46 campers with autism 10 typically developing campers 33 counselors
2012 Training Series included
"Navigating the New World" with Dr.
Jeanette McAfee, M.D., 70 Participants
"Social Thinking - Across the home and
School Day: The I Laugh Model of Social
thinking" with Stephanie Madrigal, M.A., 60
participants
"Ten Essential Skills the Everyone Needs to
Know" with Emily Iland, M.A., 45 participants

In 2013 campers age range will be
6 to 18. Camp Staff ratios are 2:1.
Staff includes Counselors from
Mariposa Autism Service Center
(MASC); New Mexico Preparing
Autism Spectrum Specialist (NM-
PASS); NMSU Students; Teachers
from local School Districts .
Events offered this year will be arts
and crafts, archery, sports, kayaking,
games, rock wall climbing, swimming,
evening camp out/BBQ, horseback
riding, and music.
