H ow has County College of Morris and EOF prepared you for life after college? CCM

and EOF has offered me great tools throughout these two years. Having Career Services available, has been very helpful in not only finding me a job on campus, but also offering to fix my resume. Being in the EOF pro-gram, has prepared me in learning time-management, improving my skills, and motivating me to pursue my goals at all times. CCM offers great business courses, with profes-sors who care, and are not only push-ing you to do your absolutely best, but want you to be prepared after graduation. Hard work pays off, and as a result it is shown with the awards, and acknowledgement from CCM and EOF.

What role has the EOF program played in your academic, personal, and professional development? EOF to me is like a second family. Not only are the staff and counselors extreme-ly helpful and caring, but they are

always very encouraging. I have es-pecially been lucky to have Pam as my counselor, where not only has she given me constant support with school and some personal issues, but has helped me not over-stress or worry too much. EOF has also been helpful in offering access to comput-ers and printing, and having a staff that is so friendly, and willing to help

any time .

What motivated you to continue striv-ing for academic success and profes-sional growth? What has continued to motivate me, is being the first in my family of obtaining a college degree. I want to prove to them and myself, that after all these years, school has paid off. I work hard to also set the example for my siblings, who in a few years will be in my position; I want them to know that through hard work and constant dedication, the reward is achievable.

What would you say is your philoso-phy in life? My philosophy in life is that mostly every situation, challenge,

or event in life, happens for a reason. Therefore, it’s important to make the best out of life, and not stress about the small things.

Now that you are approaching gradu-ation, what do you claim as your most important asset as you enter the workforce and the world? The most important asset I believe is dealing with obstacles and staying motivated. In any workforce, there’s going to be challenges, or pressure to complete a task on time. These obstacles are

Senior Spotlight—(Continued) important, as they not

only test how well you can deal with a problem, but how you react to it. Stay-

ing motivated, will only make you try harder next time, and go above and beyond to conquer the obstacles at work.

What are memorable moments you have had with EOF? Memorable mo-ments I have had is when I got ac-cepted into Chi Alpha Epsilon. It was a way of showing myself especially, that the hard work and commitment at school, has rewards. Another memory is all the times that I had ex-treme anxiety or stress with an up-coming test, and having Pam there

as moral support.

What are your plans after gradua-tion? My plans are to continue to-wards my bachelor’s degree in busi-ness, within a 2-year period. I also am planning to study abroad and/or get an internship in the city, which has been a high-reach goal for a while. Besides school related goals, I hope to obtain a great paying job, and continue to help and move my family forward.

What advice or message would you like to leave to current and/or future EOF students? The best advice to any EOF student, is to take ad-vantage of the opportunities which EOF has to offer. The staff and coun-

selors are there to help, motivate, and answer any questions. As time goes on, you will start feeling like EOF is a tight family, with constant motivation and support, so don’t be afraid to be yourself, as everyone is

friendly and welcoming.

When you are not studying and en-

gaging academic life, how do you spend your free time? I love to make music playlists, and constantly dis-cover new music; it’s not only a stress reliever but it’s something that I’m really passionate about. Also, I love to hang out with my friends, as they too help me release stress, and I know that I can count on them, to have a great time!

EOF Student Alliance UPDATE!

T he EOF Student Alliance Kick-Off was on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, following the EOF Wel-

come Back Reception. We had five students in attendance, and several students volunteered to fill open of-ficer positions. During our meeting we discussed selling Easter baskets that we wrap ourselves to raise funds for the EOF Transfer Scholarship, and for the upcoming Tricky Tray fund-raiser. Students submitted their free available time, and the best time to meet is Tuesdays at 12:30-1:30. Fu-ture meeting dates will be: 2/9,

2/22, 3/8, 3/22, 4/5, and 4/19. The Celebration Luncheon is sched-

uled for May 17, 12 noon-1:30.

Next, students staffed the EOF table at the Campus Life Club and Organi-zation Fair on Feb. 2, handing out cotton candy, EOF information, and getting sign-ups for the Alliance. Thank you to all who participated! Other events included Teddy Bear Donation table at the Campus Life Teddy Bear Factory event of Thursday, Feb. 11, where students collected new stuffed animals that will

be added to Easter Baskets to help fund EOF Programs. In addition, an upcoming field trip to tour College of St. Elizabeth will take place Friday, Feb. 26. Sign up now for either of these events in the EOF office.

The next Alliance meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 23

rd in the EOF Con-

ference Room. Refreshments and workshop credit for those who attend! Any CCM student is free to partici-pate in the EOF Student Alliance and can contact Edie Nelson at 973-328-5268, if they’d like to join.
