Today, we look back on all of the work we have done together. You should be proud of all you have accomplished. Many of you have surpassed your goals and you continue to amaze us with your creativity, passion and entrepreneurial spirit. We are so proud of all of you and we encourage you to look forward to the New Year with even higher goals as you continue to grow as leaders.

Since the beginning, everything we have done – and continue to do – is built on our Founders Fundamentals of Freedom, Family, Hope and Reward. And as we enter new countries and regions, and continue to evolve our business, we’ve learned that the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well. It’s the dream people have around the world for a better life for themselves and those around them.

All of our Founders Fundamentals are important, but Reward is one that can mean many things. One of the most rewarding parts of the Amway business is being able to support organizations or causes that help make our world a better place to live.

By building a better life, our business owners understand the value of contributing to their communities. It’s the acts of selfless courage, commitment to great causes and heart-warming responses to those in need that can be found in IBOs around the world.

It’s rewarding to give time and money to something – or someone – you believe in, and you have worked tremendously hard to improve the lives of yourselves, your families and your communities. You should be proud that you have been a great example for business owners around the world to follow, as they each start – or continue – to give.

Thank you for your partnership in helping people live better lives. We couldn’t do it without you.

Your health and well-being is usually the day breaker. Your feeling of up or down and productivity actually depends on what you feel on any given day.

According to the experts, Vitamin C is one of the safest and most effective nutrients. Vitamin C benefits include protection against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, prenatal health problems, eye disease and even skin wrinkling. Therefore, taking care of your health by strengthening your immune system should start with a daily dose of vitamin C.

Symptoms of vitamin C deficiency:· Catch cold easily· Low immune system· Slow growth· Anaemia· Shortness of breath· Bleeding gum· Slow wound healing

Usually, a person loads up mega doses of vitamin C when he develops the symptoms above, especially the common cold. This effort is actually in vain, because most of the mega doses of vitamin C – which is water-soluble – will be excreted from the body as the amount of nutrient is beyond the body’s threshold for vitamin C uptake.

The key is to keep a lower but steady amount of vitamin C in the blood stream for a longer period of time, so that it is better utilized by the body. This provides a stronger

immune support which enhances a person’s overall well-being.

The Need for All Day Formula

Maintaining a reliable supply of vitamin C throughout the day could nourish white blood cells with necessary nutrients to promote a strong immune system.

Today, there are even more reasons to do so as the body loses vitamin C due to daily stresses and environmental aggressors including cigarette smoke and low consumption of

vegetables and fruits.

Unhealthy lifestyle could deplete vitamin C level in the body at a faster

rate. Medications such as aspirin could also block vitamin C absorption.

Finally, the inability to consume three servings of vegetables and two servings of fruits daily could affect vitamin C level in the body.

A vitamin C supplement which uses extended release technology is recommended to deliver a constant yet steady release of vitamin C to support your immune system and strengthen your body’s natural defenses.

Vitamin C also plays an important role in maintaining tissue health, enhancing the immune system and promoting collagen synthesis and iron absorption.

Vitamin C IntakeAlthough vitamin C is widely available in our daily consumption of vegetables and fruits, the nutrient depletes when the food is heated, prepared in various methods and when they sit around too long on the shelf.

For example, we lost 50% of the nutrient when we stir-fry, more than 50% when they’re frozen, and up to 80% when we boil the vegetables. Meanwhile, we lost 40% of the nutrient when we cook the vegetables for more than 10 minutes and 8% when we merely cut the vegetables. Besides that, our body doesn’t have the ability to produce our own vitamin C and has limited capacity to store vitamin C.

This makes it vital for us to consume adequate vitamin C from our daily food intake and supplements to fill the body’s nutritional gaps.

How Much then Should I Take and How Can I Take It?According to the Food and Drug Administration, below is a guideline for how much a person should take for general health. These are the US FDA recommendations for each age group and gender:

Infants And Children:

· 0 - 6 months: 40 milligrams/day (mg/day)

· 7 - 12 months: 50 mg/day

· 1 - 3 years: 15 mg/day

· 4 - 8 years: 25 mg/day

· 9 - 13 years: 45 mg/day

Adolescents:

· Girls 14 - 18 years: 65 mg/day

· Boys 14 - 18 years: 75 mg/day

Adults:

· Men age 19 and older: 90 mg/day

· Women age 19 year and older: 75 mg/day

you use?” They always want to know what my lifestyle is like, my exercise habits.

They also always ask about my dad and how he got started. We’re trying to share that story with more people to inspire them to take better care of themselves. It’s tough sometimes to get people who are in a rut to step outside of themselves.

Q: So how are you doing that?

Dr. Sam: The best way is to tell them stories about real people and get them exploring beyond themselves. I tell them, just take charge of your life! It’s your life; let no one else take charge but yourself. Your health is everything. Get into what’s involved in optimal health – eat right, rest right, exercise, get medical check-ups.

I challenge people to achieve their human potential, and only they know what that is. They need to search for it, reach for it. Everybody is different. Whether it’s research, agriculture, building things…don’t let me or someone else tell you what it is. Find your passion and go for it! But whatever you choose for yourself, make it honest, and speak about it from the heart.

Q: What is the number one piece of advice you give Amway Business Owners about selling Nutrilite™ products?

Dr. Sam: That the best way to talk about change is to be the change; that’s what attracts people. Nutrilite™ products are backed by scientifically sound statistics and claims, but it’s how the people who sell the product look and behave that influences others to try the product.

It’s delightful to see that ABOs [Amway Business Owners] are beginning to see the power and importance of being “products of the product.” On the tour I met three couples who are ABOs, just delightful people, who were the winners of a recent sales contest. I asked them, “What’s the most important thing you have to do in selling Nutrilite™ products?” They all said, “You’ve got to be the product of the product.”

You can’t sell a wellness concept if you’re not happy and don’t look good. My father learned that when he discovered [his best customer] Alma Stewart could sell Nutrilite™ products much better than he could with just the sparkle in her eyes. Now how could that be?

It’s just as true today – ABOs who are successful selling Nutrilite™ and Artistry™ products tend to look the part. They’re working hard but they are happy and sparkle. That’s what attracts people to the business. That’s where the positive stuff happens.

Q: You keep a grueling schedule on these tours. What keeps you going when you hit that wall of fatigue?

Dr. Sam: In all my travels I have visited about 102 countries, including probably 65 of the 100+ Amway countries and territories. I love them all, the people and cultures.

I have found it universal that when you talk to people one on one, they all want peace. Healthy kids.  To enjoy life and what they’re

doing. To laugh. They want to be working together as a team, doing something for the world, and to feel like they are doing something of value.

I’m driven to help people understand they have to take control of that for themselves. When you do that, you begin to see you’re really going to have an impact, on your life and other people’s. That’s very exciting to me, and it keeps me energized when I do the tours. That part never gets old for me.

Q: You mentioned you have some other passions you want to pursue. What’s next for Dr. Sam?

Dr. Sam: The environment and climate change. I hear so much talk about them when I travel the world. I find lots of interest in the difficulty of getting these topics across to people, and I want to help with that.

ABO leaders who are making Nutrilite their life know that health is everything but that there’s more to it – like taking care of people and the environment. All of that comes together in the Amway business.

It’s what my dad stumbled upon on his way to all this. The things we’re doing to improve farming practices on our Nutrilite farms, the ways we’re helping people promote their own health and to take charge of their lives, is what has helped propel Amway to success. In our case, we have a lot of people taking care of themselves. Now we’ve got them taking care of others, too, especially children through the introduction of Nutrilite™ Little Bits™ supplement and the Nutrilite™ Power of 5 campaign.

But we need to figure out how to live better on this planet. Some say we’re at the tipping point already. Finding a way to preserve the environment and stop climate change would be a huge win-win story for everybody.

That’s what I want to do next: rethink where we’re going, in the business and the opportunity, as a chance for people to get together around this world and take care of the environment. What does sustainable growth really mean? We all need to be the change we’re talking about and looking for. That’s what we’re trying to do with helping people take charge and effect change within the planet. People have got to get involved and take charge for themselves. Let’s be a driver, an enabler, of that. We can’t leave it for others to do.

In September, Francesca and I will begin a sailing trip through the South Pacific on a 78-foot sloop [a follow-up of his three-year sabbatical and sailing trip around the world in 1975]. We’re making the boat and the trip as sustainable as possible – solar panels, special generators, conserving fuel and water as much as we can as we travel.

We’ll be sailing about a year, year and a half, and I’ll be talking to ABO leaders via a blog about the changes to the environment in the last 40 years and the steps we need to take to help bring it back into balance.

QandA withDr. Sam Rehnborg

Q: In most markets, your wife Francesca joined you on tour as a presenter. What was that like?

Dr. Sam: Oh, Francesca was a big hit. She even did one presentation in Italian! She talked about what’s involved in good, healthy eating and why exercise is important.

You know, experts make that complicated, but it’s really not complicated. It’s very simple.

Like me, Francesca is a big believer in the holistic approach to wellness that my father saw the Chinese embracing many

moons ago. Health issues and lifestyle are interrelated – there’s no one product that’s going to fix you up. But it’s very simple – a balanced dietary intake coupled with daily exercise is what’s best for all of us.

People respond to us as a couple because we have lots of fun. She’s always coaching me to make sure I stay on point and they love how we interface with each other.

Amway has many husband-and-wife team business owners and when they see a husband-and-wife team presenting they say, “They’re just like us – together a long time. Exercising, laughing, dancing, communicating, helping people, enjoying life together.” They find it very appealing. It has a different kind of impact from the scientific messages.

Q: What’s the one question people always want to ask when they meet you?

Dr. Sam: How old I am. (Laughs.) People always ask, “How long have you been using the product? Which ones do

At age 79, Nutrilite Health Institute President Sam Rehnborg, Ph.D., is still very much a man on a mission.

The son of Nutrilite founder Carl F. Rehnborg, the man affectionately known as “Dr. Sam” is fired up about what he believes helps boost success for those ABOs selling Nutrilite™ vitamins and dietary supplements – and about his next vision for working with Amway Business Owners to make the world a better place.

Dr. Sam spoke with StartUp in the midst of an 18-month tour celebrating the 80th anniversary of Nutrilite, where he is speaking to thousands of

Amway Business Owners around the world.

80 years after the Nutrilite brand was founded, the brand continues to grow in sales, infrastructure and expertise, remaining at the

forefront of researching plant-based nutrients, now commonly known as phytonutrients. Last year, the son of Nutrilite founder Dr. Carl Rehnborg--Sam Rehnborg, whom everyone affectionately calls Dr. Sam, and his wife Francesca, embarked on a world tour, and one of the stops was the Philippines. The couple, together with Senior Principal Research Scientist Don Pusateri, were warmly welcomed by ABOs across the country. In a four-part, 2-day celebration, the couple were able to interact personally with the Philippine ABOs and the media.

Amway Unveils theArtistry™ Men CollectionRevolutionary Regimen Targets the Specialized Needs of Men’s Skin

Men and women are biologically different – and so are their skincare needs. This premise fueled the development of the Artistry™ brand’s latest scientifically advanced skincare collection, Artistry™ Men.

Amway scientists invested years of research into identifying the biological distinctions between men’s and women’s skin. Their findings and skincare expertise fueled the discovery of this customized collection, which targets men’s two primary skincare needs – oil control and hydration – to reveal healthier, younger-looking skin in men of all ages and ethnicities.

“The Artistry™ Men Collection optimizes the modern man’s skincare regimen,” says Vice President of Global Beauty Maud Pansing. “It’s formulated to perform with technology specialized to a man’s skin and a signature packaging aesthetic that speaks to his strength and style.”

Using global data from the Artistry™ F.A.C.E.S. proprietary diagnostic system, Amway scientists identified key differences between men’s and women’s skin. Higher testosterone levels trigger more sebum production, which creates more oil and shine. Yet despite this increase in oil production, men’s skin tends to be drier on the surface due to lower levels of Natural Moisture Factor (NMF). Further, shaving disrupts the skin’s barrier function, promoting dryness through moisture loss.

In response to these discoveries, Amway scientists created DermaSync Complex, the technology that powers the Artistry™ Men Collection. “Men’s skin can overproduce oil from within yet be dry on the surface,” notes Principal Research Scientist Rick Abbott. “DermaSync™ Complex leverages high-performance ingredients to resolve both issues by giving men’s skin exactly what it needs to look its best and resist visible aging. After four weeks of use, men in clinical studies showed an up to 56.2 percent reduction in facial oil production and an up to 83.4 percent increase in moisturization.”¹

DermaSync™ Complex Drives PerformanceExclusive to the Artistry™ Men Collection, DermaSync™ Complex, a two-phase blend of ingredients for oil control and moisture management, helps restore skin while infusing moisture for a noticeably youthful look:

Phase One/Oil Control: Controls excess oil to help prevent shine.Phase Two/Moisture Management: Deeply hydrates and helps to improve the skin’s moisture barrier function to keep vital nutrients and hydration in.

What’s more, our exclusive NMF Liposome helps deliver essential lipids – Ceramide 3, Lecithin and Beta-Sitosterol – along with natural humectants deep into the skin, directing them to where they’re needed most. Exclusive ingredients in several of the collection’s formulas further invigorate skin. Horse Chestnut Complex and an exclusive Shiso and Aloe Complex help reduce shaving irritation and redness. Our exclusive Micro X6 Peptide nourishes skin to help diminish the look of fine lines, while exclusive Oat Extract helps exfoliate to keep skin feeling smooth.

The Artistry™ Men Skincare RegimenUnlike its Artistry™ skincare counterparts, the Artistry™ Men Collection is a five-step skincare regimen – with an additional shave step:

Step One/Cleanse: Gentle Face Wash Step Two/Shave: Smooth Shave Foam Step Three/Tone: Post Shave Toner *Step Four/Treat: Serum Concentrate (Launching April 2015)Step Five/Moisturize: Facial Moisturizer**

Artistry™ products are sold exclusively through a network of Amway Business Owners (ABOs) millions strong worldwide. Please visit Amway.com for more information or to locate an ABO.

HairTotal personal hygiene starts with the hair. “Some men like to refuse additional hair care. Others worry that conditioners will make their hair too soft for styling with gel or wax,” said Jenny Pohl, a spokeswoman for the German association of manufacturers and sellers of medicine, health foods, health supplements and personal care products. Men who try a hair treatment for the first time often change their opinion. Leave-in conditioners are especially popular, Pohl said.

Face“Because a man’s skin is different from a women’s, he shouldn’t simply dip into and use her facial creams,” said Heike M Falkenstein, a cosmetician in Germany. “Special men’s skin care products are more suitable for men.” Pohl added that skin care products to reduce wrinkles should moisturise the skin and contain little oil. The cream also should have UV protection especially because a man’s risk of getting skin cancer is three times higher than a woman’s.

A toner is also recommended, but men should spray it on or use their hands to pat it onto their face the way they put on aftershave. These are better ways to apply toner than using a cotton pad because it can get caught in stubble, said Pohl.

Men’s skin needs care tooMen’s skin is generally more tolerant and rugged than women’s, but men still need regular treatments, including moisturizers and lotions. When it comes to product selection, they can quickly feel overwhelmed. There are moisturizers for the face, gels for the eyes and body lotions. How many different products does a man really need? Are soap and water good enough? Elena Helfenbein, a beauty expert with a Berlin-based cosmetics association, says skin care is an important area for men. “Having a dressing table full of cosmetics is no longer an expression of a feminine streak; rather it is a sign of ambition, motivation and a modern approach to clean living.”

The following tips help men with personal hygiene from head to toe.

Helfenbein said a peeling is also good for a man’s face. Some men like using a small appliance for peelings because they like operating the device. Others don’t care for them because they can be uncomfortable over their facial hair.

ShavingBefore a wet shave Pohl recommends a fat-free gel or light-fat emulsion. Ingredients such as aloe vera, calendula, hamamelis or camomile have an anti-inflammatory effect. An aftershave or lotion with or without alcohol is recommended after shaving. These products relax and disinfect the skin and close the pores.

BodyFalkenstein said in the summer men should use a light moisturising body lotion. A richer body lotion can be applied in the winter. Helfenbein said body creams or body butter often contain too many lipids for men’s skin. Therefore men prefer refreshing lotions with a fresh or masculine scent. As a rule floral fragrances aren’t well received by men.

NailsTo add the finishing touch to a man’s personal care routine the focus turns to the nails. Falkenstein recommends a pedicure every two weeks to remove calluses and trim the toenails. Salicylic acid removes calluses and prevents

scars. Men can also consider polishing their fingernails, a practice that is no longer taboo. Clear polish leaves the nails looking well groomed and shiny, which can be particularly desirable for businessmen.

Shopping tipsBecause men’s epidermis has more layers of cells and the dermis has more collagen than women’s skin, men’s skin is about 20 per cent thicker, said Birgit Huber of the industry association for personal hygiene and wash products in Germany.

“Men’s skin has a higher relief, is robuster and it can better tolerate environmental factors such as sun and dry air from air-conditioning systems,” said Huber. However, they still must look after their skin and Huber noted that they can be very choosy. Men want cosmetics that provide immediate effects and clearly definable goals, said Huber.

“They reject having a lot of products,” she added. “Practical, uncomplicated and fast-working is what the products should be. For example, a shower gel for skin and hair and an aftershave that also offers care for the day.”

Pohl recommends products with natural ingredients. Mineral oils, silicon and similar ingredients have no business on men’s skin.

4. Applying heat styling tools to wet hair:  When women rush to get ready, they often make this mistake. Hot tools like curling or flat irons dry out wet hair and scorch the follicle. Hair should always be 100 percent dry before using a heat styling tool. Gibson adds, "We all saw the YouTube video with the girl who burned off her hairwith a curling wand. This happened because

her hair was not totally dry before using it."

5. Using hair care products with alcohol and detergents:

Got dry, frizzy hair? Check the ingredients label on your go-to products to see if these two items are listed.

6. Detangling knots without patience: Minimize frustration and eliminate more knots and kinks by zeroing in on the tangled hair. Smooth on a little conditioner before finger-combing to loosen

up strands -- this lessens tears and rips up the hair shaft that often lead needing a haircut. Sit with the product

on for a few minutes, then gently comb your hair with a

medium-to-wide tooth comb.

7. Towel-drying hair too rough: Just because you've watched movies

where the

beautiful blonde or brunette wrap up her freshly shampooed in a thick white towel, doesn't mean this is the right way to dry your hair. Towels can create a harsh friction against the hair cuticle that scrubs off leave-in conditioners and damages strands. An old T-shirt made out of microfiber is smoother and ideal for drying hair.

8. Slathering conditioner on entire head:  The ends of your hair should be the focus when putting on this super-hydrating product. When your scalp is covered in conditioner, you're likely to end up with a tacky film that leads to build-up.

9. Placing heat from blow dryer directly to hair:  You smell that? That's your hair frying from the blast of heat coming from your dryer. Kimble suggests constantly moving the blow dryer with just enough tension to get the job done sans damage.

10. Prolonging a haircut or trim:  Most women's obsession with growing long hair has kept them out of the salon without a much-needed cut. But this blasé attitude can lead to really bad split ends. Consult with your hairstylist on how often you should book an appointment for a trim.

11. Practicing bad ponytail habits:  We've all had that moment when there was not an elastic ponytail holder in reach, but there were plenty of rubber bands. But gathering your strands into the rubbery product causes breakage and split ends. Wearing your ponytail too tight or in the same position daily are also major don'ts

12. Skipping nightly hair maintenance:  A lot of women don't do anything to their hair at night. So Kimble recommends investing in a silk pillowcase or bonnet to maintain moisture and volume because cotton dries your hair out.

1. Over-relaxing hair: Relaxing hair that has already been processed leads to

damage and breakage. You should always remember to only relax over newly grown hair. Go to a hairdresser for your relaxers. If you have over-relaxed hair, use conditioners, masks and protein treatments to rebuild your hair's strength.

2. Using at-home hair color:  This is a big no-no in Gibson's book. He says, "Generally, most women do not pick the right shade for their skin tone, they over-color their hair and the hair comes out very dark on the end. You'll wind up going to the salon for a correction anyway so start off on the good foot in the first place and save yourself the headache."

3. Cutting your own bangs:  We're all for do-it-yourself bangs. But unless you follow our step-by-step guide or watch you should leave this in the hands of the professionals. "When most women cut their own bangs, they wind up too short or too wide making them look like an 8-year-old girl," Gibson says. "You should always cut your hair vertically, not horizontally. If you've botched your bangs, as always, see your hairdresser."

It has often been said that hair is everyone’s crowning glory. However, because we are all busy, or at some point, lazy, we commit hair mistakes that does nothing but damage our crop.

From shampooing too many times a week to going years without a decent haircut, here are some tips that Hollywood celebrity stylists Red Gibson and Kim Kimble shared online, that we all need to stop making.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 12, 2014 - The World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA), a global trade organization representing more than 60 national direct selling associations, today announced Amway President Doug DeVos will serve as the organization’s chairman through October 2017.

DeVos assumes the role of chairman from Alessandro Carlucci, former CEO of Natura.

"Today, more than ever, people want more independence and the freedom to set their own goals. They want meaningful work that adds value to their lives and to their communities. This

ADA, Mich., Nov. 18, 2014 – Are entrepreneurs born or made? And what drives them to start their own businesses? These questions were posed by the 2014 Amway Global Entrepreneurship Report (AGER), an annual survey that takes the public pulse on the state of self-employment around the world. This year’s report explored entrepreneurship education.

Unique in its broadness and regularity, the AGER fosters global discussion on entrepreneurship and raises awareness of the significant role entrepreneurs play in modern economies. The groundbreaking first survey launched in 2010 as the Amway European Entrepreneurship Report, then expanded worldwide with the 2013 AGER, encompassing

International Study Reveals Attitudes Toward Self-Employment

AMWAY RELEASES ThE 2014 AMWAY GLObAL ENTREPRENEURShIP REPORT

2014 Key Findings

The AGER reveals that entrepreneurship is highly valued around the world. Consider these key findings:

Entrepreneurs can be made.

At a resounding 63 percent, global respondents reported that they believe entrepreneurship can be taught. Those under age 35 held the strongest beliefs (70 percent), while men and women were virtually of the same opinion, at 64 percent and 63 percent respectively.

Education is everything.

Respondents rated the most crucial aspect of entrepreneurship education as “basic business skills” (42 percent), followed by “leadership and management skills” and “entrepreneurship in practice,” at 37 percent each. “Schools and secondary

education” were their classrooms of choice (36 percent), with “special start-up programs” and “universities, higher education” second and third, at 33 percent and 32 percent respectively. Yet just four in ten (43 percent) found their educational options satisfactory.

Positivity prevails.

On average, 75 percent of respondents have positive attitudes toward entrepreneurship – an increase of four percent – with those under 35 years the most optimistic, at 80 percent. Entrepreneurial potential remained high as well, with two out of five respondents (42 percent) saying they can imagine starting a business. Findings showed a correlation between these two factors: In countries where people were more positive about entrepreneurship, a higher percentage can also imagine starting a business. However, only

nine percent of global respondents are currently self-employed, creating an entrepreneurial gap of 33 percent.

Freedom and fulfillment ring.

When ranking the reasons to choose entrepreneurship, 46 percent said “independence from an employer, being my own boss,” while 43 percent identified “self-fulfillment, possibility to realize own ideas.” As with the 2013 AGER report, these two factors clearly were preferred over income-related aspects – and respondents aged 14-34 years had even stronger beliefs, at 50 percent each. It’s also important to note that the lower a country’s economic output per capita, the less important independence becomes as a driver for entrepreneurship. “Younger generations are most optimistic about entrepreneurship,”

24 countries. This year’s report spans a record 38 markets, with face-to-face and telephone interviews conducted with 43,902 men and women aged 14-99.

“Entrepreneurs play an important role in growing economies,” said Amway Chairman Steve Van Andel. “They create jobs, encourage competition and help communities grow and flourish. As the business environment has changed through the years, so have the reasons people decide to venture out on their own. We hope this report advances the discussion on entrepreneurship and leads to a deeper understanding of what can be done to encourage and better prepare more people around the world to start businesses of their own.”

added Amway President Doug DeVos. “The report points to their great potential. We must use this key insight to continue fostering the entrepreneurial spirit and create a global culture that unleashes the capabilities of younger people.”

Amway partner and Chair for Strategy and Organization at Technische Universität München (TUM) Dr. Isabell M. Welpe agrees. “Promoting entrepreneurship supports the development of national economies – entrepreneurs advance ideas that enrich our society and our lives. Policymakers should seize this chance by initiating entrepreneurship education targeted at younger generations.”
